  1. Thanks Graham. We also miss Flybe but have found Loganair an acceptable alternative. If we were driving we would also have an overnight break in both directions so by the time we pay for those plus fuel plus parking it costs way more than the Loganair flights. Usually takes around 50 mins and the luggage is on the belt within minutes. You note that I say belt. There is only one at Southampton.
  2. If I remember correctly they don’t even have a car park.
  3. We have family close by so we use them even when we’re not cruising.
  4. We are flying to Southampton so no car. The long drive from the NE is no fun these days. We want to be near the docks so we’ve settled on the Grand Harbour. Thanks for the advice.
  5. We are on Regal August 19th. Have booked Symphony or Concerto on Anytime for every night except 2 when we are in the Crown Grill. Allegro not listed on the app.
  6. Thanks Graham. I’ve now cancelled the Premier Inn. Between you and purplesea I’ve had some great advice.
  7. Thanks. That’s a done deal then. I assume it is a taxi ride to the dock gate although we don’t know which one yet.
  8. Can I ask a pre-cruise question Graham? I have booked both the Premier Inn West Quay and the Grand Harbour for 2 nights pre-cruise. It’s a big birthday for hubbie so thought maybe somewhere nicer than the Premier Inn. Do you think the Grand Harbour is worth the extra cost? Thanks, Elaine ps. Glad you enjoyed Arvia, we certainly did.
  9. Thanks. Unfortunately it only lists 2 items, bed set up and language choice. Nothing else.
  10. I understand you can request robes to be provided for your cabin but only if they are requested in advance. I think they have to be requested through the Cruise Personaliser. I can’t find anywhere to request them. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
  11. We spend a lot of time in Portsmouth and have stayed at the Marriott but prefer the Holiday Inn which is a very short walk to the seafront. Marriott is a nice hotel but too far out of town for us. HI is also close to Gunwharf for dining and shopping. There is a bus stop outside the HI and it’s only a few minutes to get there to avoid parking. So for one night it’s ideal.
  12. Hope you really enjoy your P&O cruise. If you cruise the American cruise lines you’ll probably find this a little different. More traditional cruising, no bells and whistles but I’m sure you knew that before you booked.
  13. Had an email this morning from a very well known online cruise agency offering £1 deposits on 24/25/26 cruises. I called Princess to check if this was across the board but unfortunately it is not. However, it’s a good deal if you are prepared to work with the online agency.
  14. It’s a Northern expression which roughly translates to “you won’t get anything if you don’t ask”. Bairn = child Nowt = nothing
  15. We are booked on the same cruise next year to celebrate our Diamond Wedding next June. I look forward to reading your review in due course. So pleased you are enjoying the cruise.
  16. In the U.K. they are called “straighteners”. When I read this post I automatically thought it was an iron for clothes which I know is definitely prohibited on cruise lines.
  17. Will def be taking Yorkshire T bags on our Regal cruise. Always have a kettle on P&O so hopefully same on Princess. Only used once a day for early morning tea but we do love that first cuppa.
  18. Very miffed about this as we both enjoy fresh juices. I can’t see us bothering with this even though we have Premier. Just stick to cocktails I think!
  19. Yes. We paid £1560 for 12days Premier package. That’s Cad $2720 at todays exchange rate.
  20. It may be ridiculous but P&O are now quite rigid about assistance and/or walking aids. There’s a thread somewhere on here regarding walking sticks being considered a mobility aid.
  21. How was the Grand Harbour Clodia. Trying to decide between that and the Premium Inn at West Quay.
