  1. Now that’s reassuring. So pleased I asked the question. Thanks
  2. We have never taken a B2B on P&O so unsure of the procedure. On Celebrity you pack your “loose” belongings and leave everything hanging. A room attendant then removes everything and places it in the new cabin. I know turn around is a very busy time for them so not sure how much help we will get on Iona. If we have to do it all ourselves I’m worried about having to be out of cabin 1 at 8am and not being able to access cabin 2 for a few hours. Any advice would be helpful.
  3. Ok. As I thought. So it looks I’ll be taking a boatload (pardon the pun) of paperbacks.
  4. I know that some cruise lines are removing libraries and I’m really hoping Princess is not one of them. Anyone confirm?
  5. Yes. Our TA has followed up and it was an error. New invoice being sent showing the full OBC.
  6. Ah, I wondered why my shares were looking a little healthier today.
  7. We are flying to Southampton but luggage free. We have booked The Baggage Company to transfer our main luggage. It’s enough to manage a wheelchair and a good sized Rollator so taking the easy way this time.
  8. Oh, I don’t know. There have been some great parties on the Shields Ferry. Alas, no more, since Covid there have been no public events. Shame. We’ve done the fly/cruise on Azura and there were still lots of fancy outfits on show. You should wear whatever you are comfortable in.
  9. As this is a British Isles cruise I imagine there will be UK cruisers onboard and it is likely that many will dress up on formal nights. Certainly when we do this cruise in August we’ll be taking our usual “dressy” outfits. Cruising from Southampton without the constraints of luggage limits means we can take the same clothes as we do on Cunard and P&O. If it was a fly cruise it would be a different matter.
  10. Oops! Must put my specs on. Sorry.
  11. Good. Otherwise I would just have left them in the cabin. I get why they would do this. The amount of recycling and other waste is mind boggling so happy to go along with the new arrangement. We are not on Arvia but imagine it would apply on Iona also.
  12. Can you take your own. I have so many of them I can really do without adding more to the collection.
  13. I’m finding this all very helpful Cloudyrain and Ellp. We are doing the same cruise in August and the info you’ve passed on will be so helpful. I always feel the anticipation of a cruise is a huge part of the pleasure and with your help it’s growing every day. Thanks a lot.
  14. Our TA is onto the case. I’ve got high hopes that this was just an error and will be corrected. It is a substantial sum of money so fingers crossed.
  15. Has anyone ever changed cabins - to a higher grade with the subsequent increase in cost then lost some of the obc on the original cabin. I know that the cruise has gone down in price but we had to pay the rate for the cruise when we booked. In that case I would expect the obc to also be as per the time we booked. Hoping someone at P&O has made a human (clerical) error. Any experience of this?
  16. Yes, our usual parking slot over from the library when we are ship spotting. Loved the Brilliance of the Seas. We were on the maiden voyage to the Fjords way back, sailed from Harwich. Jane McDonald was on and really put on a show.
  17. Saw her yesterday from t’other side Graham. If only Port of Tyne was an embarkation port. Only time we have managed to cruise from North Shields was during the cruises to nowhere phase when we went with Marella. (Our only Marella cruise) and got as far as the Farne Islands. Next one is Princess, once again we will be saying hello to Southampton.
  18. £4702 each for a GA balcony. Our original GD was under the waterfall so no question about shelling out the extra cost.
  19. We’ve moved from a GD to a GA and the additional cost added to our original cost works out more than booking the same cruise now.
  20. Dancing? As I remember it was a whole bunch of people jigging about screaming the lyrics of 3 or 4 different songs. Hilarious and great fun.
  21. I seem to remember that once the guest performance is finished in the Limelight Club it becomes a free venue with a band and singer. Possibly a place to dance.
  22. But you could still eat in there without charge.
  23. I don’t think so. We ate in there in March and it was definitely not chargeable then. Agree that there is a supplement on certain dishes but most of the menu is freely available without charge.
