  1. Not that I know of. They refused us last year also. Even though we have used their insurance for many years without making any claims for medical issues.
  2. The carry on luggage is screened at the port in the same way as the airports. So if your bags are the right size for the scanner then you will be fine. However, as David says dragging your bags around (lunch etc) is a pain, we’ve tried it and it was no fun.
  3. We also have an Annual policy with SS and we will be one day short on our cover. Have recently realised that our 35 night cruise won’t be covered as they allow a maximum of 35 DAYS. i.e. 34 nights for our age group. Their solution was for us to purchase a single trip policy to cover that particular cruise. Given that we paid well over 4 figures for the annual policy it’s not encouraging that we now have a further cost. Having in the past used Nationwide (they won’t cover us now due to medical issues) who allowed you to pay a small supplement to increase the length of the trip, it never occurred to me to check it with SS. Lesson learned.
  4. Princess do require an assistance form pennib. We are on a Princess cruise in August and had to complete the form just as we do on P&O.
  5. I am very happy to have found this thread before we cruise on Princess in 3 weeks. I am not entirely sure that this programme will apply to cruises in Europe or more especially the UK as we have different consumer laws. However, forewarned is forearmed, won’t go near the Future Cruise desk. We have our next 3 Princess cruises booked already so no reason to pass by.
  6. We had Plus on our last Princess cruise 2 years ago and have Premier on our Regal cruise in 3 weeks. I will be able to give you a more definitive answer afterwards. We were quite happy with Plus but there is a big birthday this time so decided to push the boat out (pun intended).
  7. We are cruising on 19th August. No email.
  8. Just like us Pennib. Now that Iona is doing round trip Caribbean, no more long flights for us.
  9. Still available on Iona but not bookable. Queue up and hope for a table. No idea of cost as we never managed to make it up there.
  10. I wonder if the Princess reduced deposit offer (£50pp) is encouraging people to book a long way out. We have 2 Princess cruises for next year (one of them being Land of the Midnight Sun) and yesterday booked one for Sept 2026. We have found if you need an accessible cabin you need to book early.
  11. If anyone has taken this cruise I would be grateful if you could share your thoughts on doing it with some mobility issues. Looking at the itinerary it seems that there may be quite a lot of ports where just getting off and strolling around might not work too well. Thanks in advance for any info.
  12. We enjoyed Captain Dunlop on our Iona cruise. Every port he was out on the dock greeting passengers. I can see that Disney will be a good fit for him.
  13. This is part of the email You can also now arrive within the check-in window at a time to suit you. This window is published in your travel summary in the Princess® Cruises app. There is no longer an arrival group time, which our returning guests may be familiar with. We strongly encourage you to provide your travel arrangement information via OceanReady in the Princess® Cruises app.
  14. Had an email from Princess today saying I should go to the travel summary on the app for our boarding window. I can access the travel summary on the cruise personaliser but can’t find it on the app. Can anyone tell me how to find it. Thanks
  15. Here in the UK wheelchairs for onboard use are rented from Mobility at Sea. We bought a lightweight folding wheelchair for less than the cost of the rental for 2 weeks. That same wheelchair is quite well travelled now having been on 3 cruises with another 2 coming up.
  16. We have been told that the wheelchairs onboard are for emergency use only and my DH will have to take his own wheelchair to use getting on and off at ports of call.
  17. I was looking for more port information than arrival and departure times. It was very helpful.
  18. If you do a Google search and put the exact cruise details, date etc in the search bar it will bring up some websites which give the information you are looking for. I did this for our Princess cruise. Unfortunately I can’t give the address as I think they may be a travel agency and I’m not allowed. Begins with G.
  19. I agree Harry. P&O drinks prices way more affordable. Unless you plan to have the full 15 drink alcoholic drink allowance I wouldn’t bother.
  20. We were able to do this on Cunard when I was unable to drink alcohol following surgery. I was allowed to have the non alcoholic package and DH had the alcoholic one. This was arranged onboard with the Bar Manager. I suspect that if we had tried to arrange it in advance we would have been unsuccessful. P&O may be amenable but I wouldn’t put money on it.
  21. That’s good to know. I’m on a low carb diet (for clinical reasons) and they will be the perfect breakfast for me.
  22. That’s a shame my DH will be celebrating a big birthday on Regal and I was planning a birthday banner for the door. May still give it a go and see if I’m asked to remove it.
  23. Some cruise lines charge a fee for leaving early but don’t know if this applies to P&O. I think Celebrity used to charge $200.
  24. One question Ranchi. Was it easy to hand your luggage back to the company on disembarkation. I assume there is a van (?) outside the terminal. Thanks.
  25. Thanks for the info. I have also booked the Baggage Handling co for our cruise in August. We will only travel with a small bag, enough for an overnight stay. Glad it worked out so well for you.
