  1. You may want to monitor developments of the Brightline train. It's supposed to start operations in just a few months so it would be an option to consider in January.
  2. We've been on a 7-night cruise when there were two different shows/menus. We did both of them. We were told by our concierge that on cruises longer than 7-nights that there is a 3rd version. Unfortunately we haven't tried that one.
  3. There are three different shows on a 10 day cruise.
  4. And you can tell who they are by the tan line around their wrist
  5. The WOW Bands don't do anything that the room key doesn't do already. Not worth it.
  6. We've done it several times and yes, it is definitely worth the time and money!!! A very entertaining "show" with good food.
  7. Some hard questions with no clear-cut answers. Typically the lowest cost sailings are at each end of the season, with the mid-season sailings being the higher priced ones. But that's "typical" and not really definitive. You should have you TA check the prices for a couple of sailings before/after your target date. Cold is a relative thing. Certainly it is colder on the end of the sailing seasons than in the middle. But is it enough to worry about? It depends on what you think is cold and, combined with a potential price savings, is it tolerable. That's up to the individual. .
  8. Can't say that I've tried to read on my balcony at night but I'd be surprised if a ship didn't have lights out there. But just in case, why not bring one of those battery powered book lights intended to help you read in bed?
  9. Yes, we did LPC on the Apex in January. As noted above, there are three different versions of the show. But, usually a 7-night cruise only has two versions, which they switch between about half-way through the cruise. The third version is usually offered on longer cruises.
  10. A very interesting post. Apparently we are neighbors as we listen to the MK fireworks every night at our house. 🙂 We are significantly older than the OP, and frankly prefer to sail on Royal than DCL. Basically because of the price point and the benefits of suites on Royal. We still love Disney though and have sailed on all five of the ships. Plus we just booked a sailing next summer to see their new private island. But again, the price point difference is significant. You can get a veranda cabin on RCL for probably 70% of the cost of a similar cabin on DCL, when comparing similar itineraries. We also enjoy the ability to try the up-charge restaurants on the Oasis class ships when we sail. We do enjoy Palo on the DCL ships as well. But, we are solid Disney fans and really enjoy our visits to the parks. We also enjoy watching the interaction of the children and the characters both in the parks and on board.
  11. We didn't get lip balm. Didn't ask for it either. That was on the Apex in January in a S2 sky suite.
  12. Agree that the menu's are subject to change before the OP sails. It's not that the app is wrong about the current sailing. Its that the chef may decide to make changes before then or that some ingredients may become unavailable.
  13. We enjoy being on our veranda when sailing away. We usually bring a bottle (or two) of wine when we board and have a glass out there.
  14. Depending on the ship, Celebrity suite guests get access to their own private dining room, Lumanae, a suite lounge, and the Retreat area of the ship.
  15. Yes, I regularly nap in the afternoon. I don't let being on a cruise ship interfere with that.
  16. There is nothing unique about the sailing requirements on the Disney Wish. A birth certificate is adequate. Yes, you can bring wine on board in your carryon. The do not take it from you at boarding (as long as you meet the limit of 2 bottles per stateroom.
  17. Wonderland is just another specialty restaurant that anybody can book. We've done it and won't go back. Just a really strange show presenting really weird food.
  18. Worth it is such a difficult thing to measure. How much is the $ difference between a 3A (lowest Concierge cabin level) and a 4A (highest non-concierge cabin level)? Is it double the price? At any rate, all passengers in the stateroom get the same benefits.
  19. Your PAT is the time you are supposed to arrive at the terminal. Not necessarily the time you are supposed to be inside. However, these days they are being a bit more liberal about it. You'll probably be able to leave your bags with the porters and drive into the garage at 11:00. You can then walk across the bridge to the terminal. At that point they may have you separated by PAT.
  20. Agree that the walker is the better choice in cramped cruise line spaces. As long as you can physically handle the walker of course.
  21. Something cheaper than Angus beef? Sure they can find a cheaper cut. Have you ever had the meatloaf in Blu?
  22. The DCL ships have laundry facilities on board. It's been a long time so I have no info on the current cost to use them.
  23. I'll be interested to hear your take about the Wish. We've sailed her twice now and I know there is a lot of controversy about its design.
