  1. Don’t stress over details! I suggest you don’t overbook too many activities or try to please everyone as that rarely happens and you’ll disappoint yourself. Gathering in the Windjammer at an “off” time could work…a break from the hot sun…perhaps mid afternoon for cool drinks/snacks/card games/photos…. A beach gathering could work well, too.
  2. Correction: The term is Infinite Veranda
  3. I just found the term “ infinite balcony” described in the new Celebrity Edge description. Seems there are conflicting opinions. Windows open from the top to about half way to the floor. There is a sitting area in front of the window, hence my conception of a cubicle. Doubt they’re at the water line! 😉🤪
  4. Thanks! I know Enchantment is older and smaller, so felt I would be getting the traditional balcony. Just needed reassurance. I am looking forward to actually sitting outside and not in a cubicle with a window! 🤣
  5. Are there now two types of balcony staterooms….either with sliding doors out to a real balcony, and staterooms with a window that can be opened? I just booked Enchantment… directly over the phone with RCCL. The rep kept repeating “ocean view balcony”. My confirmation only states guarantee ( no specific category) so am now worrying.
  6. We have cruised many of the small to midsize ships compared to the modern mega ships. Now about to book 12 days Enchantment cruise. I understand it is an “older” ship that has been “stretched “ and refurbished. Opinions?….likes?….dislikes?
  7. Asking for foliage report from your recent cruise on the Summit from Boston to Quebec. Am considering it for next year.
  8. Correct,I understand the initial door slamming complaint. But so many other complaints are surfacing, that it’s getting hard to find a majority of compliments. Frequently I have to remind myself ”take a deep breath”. 🤣
  9. Not sure what the cause is….perhaps COVID cabin fever….but there seems to be so much bellyaching these days . We just returned from an Iceland to Boston cruise when the weather was less than perfect, a port skipped, slow mdr service, low staffing throughout… but I just can’t find it in me to complain! Sorry if my door slammed one time when the balcony door was open ( geez! That causes quite a wind tunnel! 🤣) I had no cooking, cleaning or laundry to do. I found booze to satisfy me and entertainment better than on tv. My stateroom was made spotless. I was on vacation with my husband when we could relax with no obligations for a while. Until the world becomes a more happy place, I’ll be thankful for any cruise and hope the service industry can find, and reward, more hardworking folks who have to deal with us privileged cruisers.
  10. It’s just a “theme” for one of the nights…also a”lady’s night” at some point. Not really a night for “gents” ONLY…all are welcome ! Names are randomly selected ( submit your seapass at tables or slot machines). Husband and I each “won” a casino credit certificate of $20 and $25. Didn’t hear of anything more significant given away.
  11. so I would think the cruise director might step up, get creative and fill in with some evening activities! even the “old folks” deserve fun entertainment if not a dancing enthusiast. Looking for some prime time laughter!
  12. Where is that sunshine?! Arrived in Reykjavik early this morning then straight to the Blue Lagoon . Dared to fight the elements and “enjoyed” the warm waters for about an hour. Only an hour you might ask. How about this: gale winds, rain that felt like sleet and chilly temp if 11C!! Only the hearty endured! Fingers crossed for better weather tomorrow for Golden Circle and Friday’s boarding!
  13. Check docs again and be sure to scroll to the very end for tags you can ( copy) print in color
  14. Good parking info above. just want to warn visitors to Boston that the subway (the T) is a VERY BAD transportation option right now… closures abound! Opt for shore excursion, Uber, taxi type of ride, (account for time in traffic), or lace up you walking shoes!! Study info/maps and plan accordingly before your visit to Boston… a city I actually love!
  15. Just a heads-up: I LOVE Boston!!, but the Boston subway system (AKA the T) is a mess right now…malfunctions, closures, construction. So if in port consider Uber, taxi or the like and allow time for traffic. If you’re a walker, consider lacing up your sneakers and head to the (busy) historic Quincy Market area, Beacon Hill, ChinaTown, the North End (Italian shopping/restaurants, Paul Revere house, Old North Church),the NE Aquarium . The city has so much to offer… history, science, education….so do your research AHEAD of port time. Enjoy and learn!
  16. If there is a chilled (fruit) soup as a starter, I often ask to have it for dessert. BTW… we switched seats at our table one time too… did not fool the waitstaff!
  17. Just wondering if there are specific bars (on the Summit) dedicated to higher tier cruisers. Example: Sky lounge or Sunset bar
  18. Yes, walk the halls on a day you prefer inside… less boring than a treadmill tho an occasional sidestep to avoid folks exiting staterooms 😉🤣 taking the stairs between decks will add to your workout… think stair master!
  19. I live near Boston and love this city! FYI: The T (subway system) is in disarray right now… station closings, train malfunctions… You really should take an Uber, taxi, or any shuttle that may be offered at the cruise port!! Btw, for a city tour consider doing a DuckBoat tour. Fun way to see and learn much!
  20. That’s a pretty aggressive shore itinerary! Acadia is quite nice but considering your former outdoor/nature experiences, you might be disappointed after taking so much time to get there, hike/sightsee, return to town. The little town is very nice…tho wonder how it handles big crowds from cruise ships! Us NewEnglanders like our lobster, but you may find it somewhat pricey when costs rise when cruisers hit the streets! Enjoy!
  21. From a local….FYI the T (subway) is a mess right now!….trains out of service/schedule changes/station closures etc. take taxi or Uber! Somehow enjoy Boston! It’s a great city of culture and history! This is a thread about the MFA…a beautiful museum! Enjoy!
  22. Starting the day with breakfast on the veranda (or any stateroom for that matter!) is a wonderful experience! No need to get out of your PJs ! No crowds competing for a seat or a ladle of oatmeal! Not sure of the policy right now, so be sure to confirm my info by carefully reading the room service menu. In the past we have ordered a "continental"/basic breakfast of coffee, cereal, fruit etc. with no charge..tho we always give a tip to whoever delivers. There were charges for cooked items, and that was listed un the menu.
  23. Just wondering if others might know what Celebrity might offer if a birthday or anniversary is listed on our reservation. I am always asked if any occur during a sailing, but I have never listed one or the other.
  24. I suspect those precious dolphins don't need "unfriendly" chemicals and contraptions invading their environment. Bad enough they have to take humans for a piggy-back ride, even tho they seem to enjoy showing off. ❤️
  25. Embarkation (boarding) in Reykjavik to BEGIN cruise
