  1. I did the “apple wallet trick”! Crazy how /why that works!! Recently got my stateroom confirmation…happy to say it’s the same one the “wallet “ revealed and I am most satisfied with the location!!
  2. Love my naps!!! …if lucky enough to have a balcony… open the slider! …just be sure to close it before opening the room door or SLAMMMM!😲😲
  3. Yes, finding the partial info odd, I just called RCCL and had no wait time!! It was confirmed that I will have a balcony stateroom on deck 7 but the specific room not yet assigned. Still seems weird tho, but will be patient!
  4. My incomplete SetSailPass indicates gty deck 7 Muster Station 010. No numbers on the bar code yet. Since cruise date is 5 weeks away, I am not in a panic, but perhaps someone has an idea where our balcony stateroom might be located . Just an estimate would be interesting. (First time booking a guarantee instead of the usual cabin selection…hopefully not in for a disappointment despite not being crazy fussy)
  5. We enjoy boarding asap…often by 11AM…go directly to MDR to tweek reservations and scope out our table…wander up to the Viking CrownLounge to sit… one of us goes to grab coffees and a snack to bring back and enjoy in the basic solitude away from buffets/crowds while playing cards, reading, napping. The calmness and the view welcomes us to vacation! On an inclement day we might be found doing same in the solarium or perhaps a quiet lounge. If boredom should happen to set in, we can always go for a walk. 😉
  6. Asking for comments/opinions on an 5+ hour shore excursion in April….beach with lunch….to Runaway Beach.
  7. Great news. Been a while due to COVID so happy to get this confirmation. I am a bit of a fussbudget despite wrinkled cruise attire is sometimes “in vogue”. 🤣
  8. All set with the wash and fold laundry service, but wondering if I can get a few items pressed once I unpack my luggage (dress shirts perhaps). I will gladly tip my cabin attendant if that's a possibility (allowed?) I used to pack my little travel iron, but no more since it was discovered, and I was called to the "naughty room" to claim my luggage! 😒
  9. Well of course I could do that!, but first would like opinions on this excursion from others who have done it. Am sure if it’s offered they’d edit the time or cancel it.
  10. Looking for opinions on the shore excursion to Antigua... BEACH BREAK....goes to Runaway Beach and includes "lunch"
  11. The excursion to the George Washington House and Garrison Tunnels is list as 2 hours starting at 4:00. Seems odd since the ship's departure is 3:00. according to my invoice! hmmmm If the timing is different and this excursion is doable, please share opinions.
  12. Been to Barbados beaches (beautiful!) and Harrison caves (awesome!) so looking for something else. Any opinions on a shore excursion to George Washington House and the Garrison Tunnels?
  13. Opinions of this shore excursion (51/2 hrs) to Runaway Bay with welcome drink, lunch, beach chair.
  14. No more “formal” for us as far as ties, jackets, dresses go. Too much in luggage!! More “smart casual” these days for sure, as for any restaurant at home. Formal seems preferred if specific photos planned. Attire doesn’t determine your menu choices! Just leave your beachwear in your stateroom at dinner time.
  15. Opinions….shore excursion….Caribbean Rail and Sail….scenic train ride with beverage and singing from the port then change to catamaran ride back to port. Might fill the bill for scenery, history, time on the water.
  16. A sure excursion might be doable, but you might be risking a very crowded town experience. Salem officials requested “no more visitors “ last October! It’s a great/interesting place to visit, but as beautiful as an October day can be, visit Salem another month!
  17. Why wait for an email to tell you it’s due when you already know when it’s due?!! pay it now to prevent any potential delays in whatever method you use. Every previous advice is spot on!
  18. Can gift cards be used on board or do they need to be added to account?
  19. Go to ICELAND for the Blue Lagoon there!! Or the SkyLagoon or the Myvatn Baths. Did the pricey, touristy BlueLagoon and the less pricey, less touristy more “with nature” Myvatn Baths. So fun/relaxing/unique. Would repeat if given the chance!
  20. Harrison’s Caves…pretty cool/interesting.
  21. We always make reservations pre-cruise, even at various times depending on what we might have planned for the day(early or later return from an excursion etc.). Rarely a problem if we show up at a different time than reservation. ( not offended if we have to wait since it’s on us if we alter our arrival time) Always get a table for two. Tables are so close to each other that conversation is easy if desired and easy not to without appearing rude. FYI On a recent cruise we did occasionally notice the “no reservation “ guests were seated sooner. A couple of observations…they had pagers so had checked in earlier, or were part of a group of 3 or more so their larger table was available.
  22. I just commented about this…see the question about needing long pants on horseback excursion
  23. Does it actually say that long pants are needed for riding in the water?? We booked a private horseback ride years back and, yes, long pants good for riding on dry land, but we wore bathing suits in the water…no saddles. Waist type life jackets provided. Crazy feeling once horses were swimming! I actually fell off while in the water…scared my husband, but I easily got back on the horse! 👏🤣 Some what out of the ordinary excursion…fun!
  24. Did the yacht race (2 yachts participate) several years ago….fun! Have the choice to participate as a crew member or to sit back and just go for the ride. Not sure if they normally go a bit out from the harbor, but our race didn’t go too far out as the captain felt the weather wasn’t perfect for inexperienced “sailors”. Convenient to the cruise port. Quite safe. Informative. I enjoyed many summer days sailing as a kid, so was very happy to be on a sailboat again!
  25. We had great fun watching World Series games/finals on the big screen at the pool deck. Best when our teams were playing!! Also football games! Even if you’re not a major league sports fan, you might enjoy the electric atmosphere poolside on a balmy night… or perhaps wrapped in a blanket on a cool night . Hope your ship has the big screen showing a game. Best tailgating ever!
