  1. Wonderful, informative review for those of us who have not sailed on Windstar yet but dream to do so some day. Thank you for the time put into making this report.
  2. I've used the hair dryer in the ladies spa with good results. It starts out cool and warms up as you use it. The dryer in the room is sufficient for my thick hair but I personally refer the spa one but it's a pain to drag your clothing bag up. I often shower in the spa for it's spacious shower area. We were on the Insignia in December and they were offering L'Occitane products in the shower area.
  3. Yes, if you had travel insurance all of it would have been covered. It happened to us once and the check from the insurance arrived just before we got our cc bill for the hotel stay!
  4. Actually when I organized a M&G with the cruise line, they wanted a minimum number of people to show plus limited it to 30 people. They also wanted names, cabin numbers and confirmation numbers submitted to them by a certain date. In turn, they had a no host bartender, nibbles, swag and the cruise director came. A lot of work but it paid off with great attendance.
  5. The repairs had to be done since there was leakage into the deck below. We were on this cruise and at the end of the cruise corporate offered $400 per person future ship board credit. Of course, this truly doesn't take away the repair noise but at least recognized the inconvenience of the matter.
  6. We like to book early in the cruise when we are not so full of food from the great other dining venues. We can really enjoy our 2 specialty restaurants on The Insignia. Enjoy!
  7. The only down size on the bathrooms on the PG is the bathtub you have to step up and into in order to shower. Kinda scary when the ship is bouncing around! Otherwise, the cabin have lots of storage.
  8. Or you can go home, take a deep breath and then call your travel agent within 30 days of your cruise. Same deals offered.
  9. I go not due to the size of the shower but to let my husband sleep a little longer.
  10. I often shower in the spa shower areas. Lots of towels and amenities plus a blow dryer. It's quiet and I've never had anyone come in while I was there ( maybe because I go early after walking.
  11. ATT: Pinotlover: WE had just received our invoice, . I spoke to our TA who advised it depends on the length of the cruise as to when the final payment is due.
  12. I think it depends when and where the compliant is lodged. While on one cruise, I lodged a safety compliant and we got a visit to our cabin by a ship officer. I know that they review comments and often make changes if possible.
  13. So you are saying no spirit cocktails? I.E. No gin & tonic drinks, etc?
  14. WE just discovered that the payment for our future cruise is now 180 days prior cruising. Now with O's new cancellation policy they are really being lsee consumer friendly. .
  15. Good news! Thanks to our forum friends, my husband resent his documentation and we now have our obc from our stock purchase.
  16. Just found out from our travel agent that the stockholder benefit can not be used with O Life. It can be used only with the Simply new package. Bumper!!!
  17. Is there any advantage to booking a future cruise while on board ship. I know our agent would ger credit but wondered if the cruise line offers any inclentives. Thanks.
  18. Thanks for your kind responses. I tried to google on this site but I guess didn't enter the correct clues.
  19. We have submitted the documentation requested for our $100 on shipboard credit. How long should it take and where can we see it applied prior to cruise date. We board on December 5th for a Caribbean cruise. Thanks.
  20. We always give something extra to the room stewards. Sometimes if the wine staff have been extra good to us, we tip.
  21. We took a Caribbean cruise just after things opened up after Covid. One of the islands was closed to cruise ships until October. Several of us tried to get Oceania to confirm that the island was off the itinerary. We called and also had a travel agent inquire. All reported the island was still on the trip even though Oceania's own Covid government documents reported otherwise. Poor corporate communications!!! One of the guests was friends of the hotel director and she emailed him who advised that indeed the island was off the itinerary. Only those on the roll call had first knowledge about this change. Many people had made plans and incurred deposits which had to be changed on the ship when it was more difficult to communicate.
