  1. I get what you are saying, but the simple answer for the cruiseline is enforce your rules or change them. If not, they will be viewed as suggestions or guidelines, whether it be smoking or bringing on your own soda or something else. And of course, that gets magnified on forums such as this one as people share their experiences. I have had Princess security persons checking you back on the ship in ports tell me they never hassle with drink items bought back on board, alcohol or no alcohol.
  2. As long as it isn't glass, I don't think they care. We have brought cans and plastic bottles.
  3. Not sure why you did last time. I just called out the rude comments. Cruise critic is a forum for discussion about cruising. You don't have to like everyone's posts, but you should at least respect them.
  4. Can someone tell me what in this pass is worth paying a fee for? Much less $33 a day?
  5. One thing I have learned on here and other internet forums, some people struggle to respect others opinions or if you don't agree with them, you are simply wrong. Sadly, there are many people in the world with similar views. I always say my opinions are mine, if someone disagrees, that is fine, just don't tell me I'm wrong for mine and you are right with yours. It's prevalent in all areas of society today.
  6. Yeah, I would assume so. You used to could buy stuff for one or both people, but I'm not sure if they handle the plus and premier packages differently. I doubt it, but I'm sure someone will chime in who has done this.
  7. That benefit, like some others has been gone for a while now.
  8. You and I probably look at this in similar ways. I couldn't pay the prices they charge for a drink in good conscience knowing they are making probably 500% profit on each one or more. I've posted comments about that in other threads on this. I get ridiculed, but I'm okay with it. I sleep well at night. I have no issue with them making profit off me because they do, just not that much profit. With that said, my take is packages are a Win/Win/Win. Princess wins because they sell a lot of them, and make very good money from them, so it helps them out. Win. Customers seem happy generally that buy them for whatever their reasons. Win. I, like to hope, that because of the profits driven from packages, it keeps the cruise fare down for someone like me. Win. So everyone wins.
  9. While I agree with your premise, with the medallion they know have every purchase and every move, every customer has made on their ships for the last several years now. They use that to determine how they price things. I'm quite confident that they know that X% of people buy a package. I'm sure they also know that X% of those people never bought wifi before, or perhaps removed gratuities at least some of the time. With the package, they are building in those items and are making even more money, as they are providing items some people don't use. And if people are getting 2 meals at a casual restaurant and aren't using them, it's even more. I'm sure they also know how many people buy the package but only get a small number of drinks and how many actually do more plus soda plus mocktails, etc. They have every data point possible on every passenger.
  10. They are supposedly switching all the ships to Lavazza. It's much better than that syrup based stuff. Not sure how many ship have it yet.
  11. You are going to upset some people 😀
  12. You can expect those prices to increase soon. Royal Caribbean just raised their gratuity and removed CA from their AI package. Carnival will follow suit, probably in both ways. Just a matter of time.
  13. It's not rebellious at all. He forgets you can have multiple people in a room and therefore everyone can bring their own drinks.
  14. They will be selling them when you board all over the place. You both will have to have it added.
  15. Go re-read the post I quoted, it will help you with the "rules".
  16. Have never seen them stop someone from carrying on more than one pack of soda or water. I would suspect bring what you want.
  17. You can bring more than 1 12 pack in most ports, as they don't really check. Protein shakes would be no issue either. They are mostly only looking for alcohol items when they do look to see what you are carrying. I should add I don't think you can bring them in glass containers, seems I read somewhere about glass, but bottles or cans are no issue.
  18. We put our soda in a carry on hardcase luggage and kept it with us. For the water, I bought 2 12 packs (figured that was easier to carry), and put them in a fabric grocery sack they fit nicely into, and put them on top of my carry on, and secured them to the carry on handle and just wheeled it all as one unit. I did not give it to the porter. People have said they put luggage tags on them, but to me it was just as easy to carry it. To put it through the security scanner, I just lifted it off the handle, and then put it back on.
