  1. It just has me beat that they launch ships with the same name tags around the same time, regularly, and they often put them in the same market to boot. I just think a bit more imagination could be used - Chili of the Seas has a ring to it.
  2. The Youtube version for those that have somehow avoided it over the years. I am sure I have met her on a cruise.
  3. One of the best moments in TV. I think this is floating around on YouTube as well, as the link is UK region
  4. Hi Ann, As far as I can tell, Tasmania has no remaining covid restrictions for cruise ships. As far as I can tell, all other cruise lines other than NCL are not applying any restrictions to passengers visiting Tasmanian ports. What remains is purely between NCL and the state of Tasmania.
  5. I guess there is a difderence between East Coast & West Coast, much like here 😁
  6. Embarkation day lunch - what is open? I am thinking of Guy's Burgers, but is there anything else that you would recommend? I get the feeling you have almost been living aboard @Hogbay - what is your pick for Splendor food?
  7. There is a lot of bloat in there, unless they are keen on hitting the gym every day. The 2 x specialty dinners + 3 photo prints apply for 22 nights, but we also get the same number of dinners and photos on a 3 nighter next month. They can get all the important bits of that package for $30 less per night in the Plus package. I think Princess are pushing this for a competitive difference. I can't argue, as I find it hard to book Royal at present when I can pretty much book an all-inclusive for $65 or $95 each per diem.
  8. A nice time of year for the islands. While moving at sea, the apparent temperature can feel quite cool, especially if you are out of the sun and/or cruising into the breeze. Just covering your arms and legs will normally be enough to prevent feeling cold, or even just using a pool towel like a blanket.
  9. That is true. We are getting pieces of their world cruises when those ships are calling here, and that is a much more traditional crowd than a summer cruise. Policy enforcement is achieved because their traditional passengers want it that way, and will insist on "Keeping up appearances".
  10. Yeah, Princess plus is $65 and also includes internet (plus all that junk nobody wants). We are only doing a shortie on Carnival to use up our cancellation credits, with lots of cancellation OBC to cover our drinkies. Like P&O they need to be 7 nights to get the drinks package, but we have never bothered with P&O's either - too dear. There are plenty of cruises ATM, where the drink package is more expensive than the fare. Crazy, and a good reason to become a tee-totaller. Yeah-nah! 😂
  11. Great minds think alike. Today's Cruise Weekly cw051023.pdf (cruiseweekly.com.au)
  12. P&O UK can be more brutal than Cunard on formal nights.
  13. They certainly have put the WOW back into cruising. I figure there is also lots more 😲 with the price of Chops/Jamie's/Wonderland etc
  14. That all changes in a couple of weeks. Till then, there are only two ships ex-Sydney during the off season. What days? Pac Adventure was in Sydney on Saturday, Splendor on Sunday.
  15. Love Boat actors have been brand ambassadors in the past, and it is really just a bit of extra marketing. I wonder if they are seeing what they get at Carnival from John Heald, and the opportunity to have questions answered on social media by someone other than a faceless entity. But yes, who cares!
  16. Always be aware Eileen - it seems weird. I wouldn't put it past any cruise lines to try and get early payment these days though, but I would expect that your due date would be mentioned as well. I gather you have booked direct?
  17. Toss a coin indeed. It is definitely a bit early for Sounds season. Today & tomorrow would likely have got in, but the following five days would be a no. Watching these weather patterns in the Tasman, and these can be present year round. Nice to take a look from time to time to checkout the odds http://www.bom.gov.au/australia/charts/viewer/index.shtml?domain=combinedW&type=sigWaveHgt
