    I have just had a few days away and visited Beverley (near Hull) with it's beautiful minster and Harrogate. A nice break from work and thankfully, it was dry most of the time.

    My last trip was on P&O (I'm sorry) and the bar list was pathetic. It will be lovely to be back on Cunard with a proper choice in the bars.

    Less than 2 months until I'm back on QV. Does anyone know if they are bringing Danish Pastries around like the did pre-Covid or is it still the case that you ask for them when you do your breakfast order? I ordered a bran muffin last time I was on and they must have made a batch as I got one every morning without having to ask.

    Been doing some research and the lifeboat used is a Tamar class which is pretty large so I expect that is why it was used rather than a closer one.

    We had some rain today for the first time in weeks. Not much but enough to save having to water the garden. Now we have a beautiful sunset.

    I'm glad to hear the parties are back. Last time I was on QV we got a half glass of fizz that had lost most of the fizz in the restaurant and an extra half bottle in the cabin.

    There are too many mirrors in the bathrooms on QV and QE. As soon as I step out of the shower I am confronted with a sight that makes me think "I must go on a diet".

    I'm looking for somewhere to park in September, would my car be safe left here for two weeks?

    After reading how long it can take for a passport renewal, I thought I had better get mine done ready for September. I submitted my application online on Sunday 23rd April and the new one arrived today.

    Thanks HH. I will do as suggested. Parking only for 2023. However I have 2 cruises booked in 2024 so a hotel and parking package could be worth thinking about.

    The coffee is OK, but nothing special. You get instant coffee in the Britannia grade cabins.

    I stayed at Chilworth Manor in February and enjoyed it so that sounds like a good option for 2024. However, I already have a hotel booked for September so an alterative plan needed.

    I've been looking at parking for September and the price for CPS has shot up. I think I might need to find an alternative. Does anyone have any experience with other parking providers?

    I guess Cunard have done the right thing by cancelling, but it sounds like it could have been handled a lot better. It seems very unlikely that QM2 will do a mad dash to New York with no passengers to be there for the next crossing. Hopefully Cunard will not keep people waiting too long before making it official.

    I can't speak for all of the bars, but I know I have had "tap" water with lunch in the Golden Lion.
