  1. For the Discovery just go to the referenced website .com. Scroll down and click on Princess Cruises and then your ship of interest. Although the Enchanted is the same class as the Discovery I hope the Discovery video is representative of your cabin.
  2. Our first cruise was also on the NCL's SS Norway. It must have been in 2002 as it was less than a year later the ship suffered the unimaginable boiler explosion. It was truly a classy ship. It was interesting walking the hallways and passing numerous watertight doorways. A funny story from the MDR. I think it was a formal night and an appetizer offered was escargot. Never having tried them I asked the waiter to bring me "4", assuming I would get a half a tin of 4 total. To my surprise, and our tablemates, he brought 4 tins of 8 escargot each. The table of 8 guests got a big laugh out of that, and none of the escargot went to waste.
  3. Hello sailaway; The DW and I were on the Discovery on a California Costal cruise in E715. While E713 was available, I didn't need the 3/4th beds and I wasn't sure what to expect with this cabin. Have you looked at cruisedeckplans? They have a video with pictures that are supposed to be from E712. It looks like if the ladder wasn't in place you would just need to snake around the upper bed to get to the balcony door. You won't have much privacy on your balcony as the mini does extend out quite a bit beyond the deck 9 cabin balconies. It wasn't a great concern for us, but was a bit off-putting. At least I knew what to expect from exterior pictures of the ME's. I don't believe that the port side has a smoking area on deck 7, though I can't say for sure. I can say that the smoke from the starboard side was never a problem for us, and we are non-smokers and certainly dislike it in the casino. Happy sailing, Dave
  4. We had our 50th on a 16 day on the Diamond in January last year. You can let Princess know of celebrations in the APP, at least the old one. There was no big deal made of it. We received a special chocolate desert thing at the end of dinner one night. We took it back to our cabin. It was fun seeing our anniversary show up on the big screens in the elevator areas when we were nearby.
  5. I cruised last on the Discovery 3 months ago with Plus. I read somewhere on the ship I think that the cutoff is 6:00 AM on the day of debarkation. At ~5:30 that morning I tried to order Bloody Mary's on the app / Ocean Now and never got a response.
  6. I have stayed in E705, a mini, for a week to the Mexican Rivera. Being just a deck above the smoking area, we never had any issue. Maybe the cabins farther aft may have some smoke, but while on the move I wouldn't think it would be an issue. Personally, I enjoyed the aft location. Edit to add, hey there neighbor!
  7. Along the lines of comfort and ship movement, I and the DW much prefer the side to side motion in bed falling asleep. It is a soothing feeling, even in moderate seas.
  8. Please don't look for anything substantial as far as lobster goes in the MDR. On a recently completed cruise on the Discovery, lobster tails were served on the last 'formal' night in the MDR. The were of the 3 oz. to 4 oz. variety. While they tasted ok, the offering was underwhelming. You should have a greater selection in a specialty restaurant. I don't have direct knowledge, but I would assume that non-seafood dishes would also be available.
  9. I really think it varies each cruise, depending on getting everyone off the ship and being ready to take pax on. For our Nov. 11 cruise to the Mexican Rivera we were in the Platinum group and on board at 10:40. That's the earliest we've been on a Princess ship. YMMV, as with most things Princess.
  10. Thank you nzOdy, and Hagainps. Confirming the update still works on my A52 and S6 Lite tablet (after workaround). It also now works on DW's Motorola Moto 5g. We're sailing in 2+ days so it's good to know we don't need to worry about the previous errant update. Thank you!
  11. I also cruise in 6 days. The update does not work on either my Samsung A52 5G nor my S6 Lite tablet. Both are running Android 13. Also my Plus package isn't showing on my account. For the voice prompts it sounds 4 or 5 x normal speed. Too funny, though the fact that PCL can't put out a workable app for Android devices is sad.
  12. I read the T&C to say that the amount paid for the Plus package is refundable if PCL is notified 3 days or more before scheduled sailing. Others may have more info.
  13. There are indeed USB ports in the lamps bedside. This from 2 different cabin categories that I've sailed on the Discovery. Very convenient. I don't recall any other USP ports in the cabin. We bring a small power/USB strip (non-surge protector) for the desk area.
  14. I use cruisedeckplans.com/. It's very informative and useful. Dave
  15. I had already done the 3 person mock booking as you suggested. Oh the things we learn on CC.... I will try calling. In the chat I didn't mention anything about upgrade, though I did tell the lady that my original cabin was a Guarantee. Tomorrow I won't volunteer anything and see where I get. Thanks
  16. I'm not loving my upgrade from a Deluxe Balcony to a Premium Deluxe balcony with connected rooms. I tried Chat on the Princess website and didn't get anywhere. My original cabin was a Guarantee so I think I'm out of luck. Hoping for quiet neighbors.
  17. We were on the same cruise as LACruiser88, also in a mini. The DW and I both thought the beds were comfortably firm. We always got a good nights sleep. The bed height was also reasonable, neither too high nor too low. I also heard that you can request a mattress topper if you think it might help to be more comfortable.
  18. I printed my luggage tags from Opera for 2 cruises in early and late December. The first printing worked fine. When I printed later, the tags were short as described by the original poster. To fix mine I just changed the scale to 200% in the printer properties. I also have the Amazon luggage tag holders. They are well worth the minimal cost.
  19. We were off the Discovery just 8 days ago. The ship does have music "stations". There were about a dozen or so. Not a great selection but hopefully you can find something you like.
  20. I used the same printer settings yesterday as I did 2 weeks ago for another cruise and they came out small also. I changed the scale to 150% and they printed up as normal. Go figure...
  21. Just to comment on the cabin creaking. We are just off the Discovery on Wednesday and stayed in E703. There was definite cabin creaking, which got worse or better depending on the sea state. It didn't really bother me, but I hadn't experienced this on any other ship. Regarding service, I was told by two dining servers we had 4300 passengers on our cruise. Despite the large number I thought our service was pretty decent. Some sore spots were food delivery to our cabin. Delivery times for pizza and hot tea ran about 45 minutes for each. The MDR food was generally good until the last night, when the DW received raw/undercooked scallops. I received the same dish and it was fine.
  22. Thanks for the link and suggestion Rick, I ordered and received the 5 piece set and it's just perfect to protect our luggage tags. Although it hasn't happened to us I would just hate to have one torn off and my bag delayed or not delivered to our cabin.
  23. I'll second Shelly's recommendation for playing in the non-used side of the Horizon buffet. We have used that location many many times. It's relaxing to watch the ocean go by as we play Hand & Foot. Eventually they will kick you out as the buffet gets ready to open up for dinner, but by that time it's usually time to move on anyway! We also have 10 sea days, but on the Diamond, in less than a month.
  24. It's no better on the android side. I took a chance and updated the app. Went from the green lane to blue lane. The ocean wearable is now unchecked. Selecting "Go To OceanReady" just returns a blank screen. I have no apps that are remotely as weak and unrefined as this one.
  25. It's been ongoing for about an hour for me. I did get into my account and booked cruises, then could not search for any new cruises.
