  1. May I ask: Were you able to arrange the Premium Economy seats with SS or did you book on your own? If with SS, how did that process work?
  2. Looking forward to reading more about your trip. I especially enjoy those from solo travelers as I have recently done my first solo and I know most of my future cruising will be solo. Enjoy!
  3. Yay! Glad to see your new trip starting. I am looking forward to your posts on Iceland and Greenland; they've never been on my list but I suspect you are about to change that 😀
  4. Thanks for this. I happened to log into my account over the weekend and noticed tours were available. It thought is was a system glitch (a good one for once!) since I am 30 days ahead of when I could reserve. I, too, thought it might be a problem; however, now I wonder if it is intended to give SS a more information on what is popular, and thus, a longer lead time to add tours. At least that's my positive spin for today.
  5. The ability to select seats is varies by airline: some allow it and some don't, for some it depends on whether or not final payment has been made. I booked Delta flights with ChoiceAir, had the agent select my seats during the call; within hours I was able to make changes to those seats on the Delta site. This was months before I made final payment. I agree with the OP, I would always try to get the agent to choose seats when making the booking.
  6. I had the same experience on the Dawn in June. I specifically asked if I could get something from LaTerraza or Atlantide for dinner but was told I could not.
  7. As always, I am enjoying reading about your trip; glad you and Jeremy are having a great time. The sunset catamaran cruise sounds lovely!
  8. Yes, and I really wish it worked that way in the US; not just regarding cruises but restaurants, everything.
  9. Then the full price should be listed as that and not some false "gratuity."
  10. I think the title of this thread is misleading because earning points depends on which cruise line you have booked with and/or their specific agreement with airlines. Last month I flew American on tickets booked via the cruise line (Silversea) and I certainly did get points. The OP received fewer points than expected on tickets booked via Viking, but that doesn't mean no one can get points.
  11. Yikes! I guess that is the going rate now; I booked a few months ago.
  12. I am using Civitavecchia Shuttle Express -- their rates are much better. Ofc, I don't know what the extra charge would be for child seats.
  13. Yes I am in the US. I suppose our phone number doesn't work for you. Sorry.
  14. I made final payment today simply by calling the main number 833-292-2292. I was on hold only 5 minutes and I made sure the agent sent me an updated invoice showing the payment was made while I was on the phone. It came in less than a minute.
  15. It is my understanding that all the S class ships have Murano. Is that correct?
  16. You might want to check (google) to see if there is a local holiday for the dates you expected the tour to run. It could be a factor leading Viking to skip the overnight tour for your specific cruise
  17. As others have said it is listed on your booking confirmation from Azamara; but it is pretty well hidden. It should be just under the section "Booking Charges" where the costs are broken down into a list. If you booked using a TA then perhaps they have the confirmation and never forwarded the Azamara version to you.
  18. I got an email this morning inviting me to join a "virtual launch event" on July 28th for 2024/2025 itineraries.
  19. My two cents, assuming a 7 night cruise: 2 nights you all eat in a MDR, 2 nights in a specialty and 3 nights you all do your own thing. Or, if your pals are willing to pay you have one or 2 nights in Luminae (and maybe you take the above suggestion to subsidize the cost). If it's a 10 night cruise just add one to each category.
  20. Lovely pictures of Istanbul. I should be there in April 🤞 so your pictures are adding to my excitement.
  21. Lots of good info on Global Entry appointments in the thread below (even though it's titled Pre-Check).
