  1. The camera is located in/on one of the condos on the north side of the channel. The camera that was located on the Pier 66, showing the 17th Street bridge, is probably down because Pier 66 is totally gutted.
  2. A number of years ago we went to Alaska on either Coral or Island. There used to be lounges on some of those decks. There were none on that trip. First stop in Ketchikan we went ashore and purchased some very inexpensive "bag chairs" and used them on the back deck. As I said it was years ago, and it was a higher deck. Those decks no longer are on the Island. The Coral now is one of our favorite ships, with 88 days on her and Island (before the ruining of the Island).
  3. In May on Caribbean Princess, we had a party of 14 in Crown Grill. We were seated at an 8 top and a 6 top.
  4. Not true on the three cruises we've been on since Nov 2021. Definitely true in the past, they told you it was only open for In-Transit passengers. Still probably true on some ships.
  5. Maybe they are supposed to, but we have never had it happen.
  6. There has always been something wonky with the app!
  7. We used Sunseeker a few years ago, when staying in San Pedro. It was a very good tour. It was a long day.
  8. We use Command hooks, but found they do not stick to the walls very well. They stick to the metal doors very well. Use them for jackets and sweatshirts.
  9. Highly unlikely. We did board once at 11:10. We feel anything before noon is early.
  10. This happened to us for a Sky Princess cruise last November. Ordered medallions five months ahead of time and got the same message. It is no big deal! Just one more step in boarding. We still got on the ship the same time as our friends, who had theirs mailed. In fact, we don't bother having them mailed anymore.
  11. Caribbean Princess--October 30, 2022--New York (port of call), Brooklyn--Red Hook Pier. If it is Red Hook, the ship docks next to a ferry dock. A short ride to lower Manhattan. The ferry goes to Pier 11/Wall Street Pier.
  12. Princess sells these on board. We usually just take some bubble wrap, and large zip-locks. Have never lost a bottle in about 30 years.
  13. In June on Royal Princess, the headwaiter allowed me to order from the dining room menu for lunch the following day. That was really nice, but the first time that has happened.
  14. There used to be a Hertz office across the street from the Crowne Plaza Hotel, haven't been in the area for two years. Enterprise is next door to the hotel. Be sure to check the hours they are open. I think one or both were closed on Sunday.
  15. With close to 400 days on Princess, I agree with others that the service is great. We've often had bartenders and stewards call us by name. But, on the Royal in June to Alaska our waiter came around and named all eight of us by name the first night. I'm sure it was medallion assisted, as your picture shows. This was a first for us. We've had waiters call us by name before, but not until a few nights into the cruise.
  16. We stayed there in March 2020. Very clean, quiet, private, an old motel turned into a boutiqueish hotel. No elevators. A couple of good restaurants a few blocks away. Would stay again.
  17. We've done various cruises with groups of 4, 6. 8. and 14. We've had to do each night individually. Word of advice, even though you have the same group, same time, and same dining room, do not assume you will get the same table every night. It is logical that you would, but the app throws all logic to the wind. If you want the same table, be sure to see the head waiter, for your section, the first night and let him know that is what is what you expect.
  18. As with many answers about Princes, "It depends". Some bars on some ships may have it. If it is on the ship, and you go to the same bar all the time, the bar tender will probably get some, and keep it for your drinks. This year I've found it on Sky and Caribbean, but not Royal. Just in case, I will usually bring some of my own. Then sometime during the day, I get a shot of gin neat, (with either a lime wedge or slice of cucumber) and take it back to the cabin for later.
  19. That would make sense, but in reality, it doesn't work that way. As JimmyVWine said, talk to the Head Waiter, or whatever they are called these days. We've had to do that on five cruises so far.
  20. Same in June. It was on one week, then not the next. I don't remember whether it was the Northbound or Southbound, Vancouver/Whittier.
