  1. I’ve seen a large table completely removed on one of the Vistas. No that is not true. I didn’t see it removed, but it was there at lunch and gone at dinner.
  2. If you ask them nicely, they may do one just for you, and the other half will get used for pâté.
  3. No, the tables can mainly be moved and mixed and matched.
  4. Abigails’s party? Actually I quite liked the ones we had.
  5. It beggars belief that the QG should argue about giving you the table size you require. I am amazed. I do hope it is sorted tonight.
  6. There’ll be a very unhappy hour if England lose, I fear.
  7. I really think they ought to reinstate the old type of drill where everybody actually has to go from their cabin to their muster station when the signal sounds. That means all the passengers have actually done it, even if only once. That might just make all the difference.
  8. I know this is a losing battle, but what Cunard offer is afternoon tea. High tea is quite a substantial early evening meal, such as kippers or fish and chips, with bread and butter, and pudding, accompanied by tea, such as my uncles would have eaten after a day working in the shipyard. Aren't all scones manufactured, one way or another?
  9. Well, we are dealing with Cunard shoreside here, bless them.
  10. Not now. No paperwork. Just tell them your cabin number.
  11. It was common during Covid. Perhaps it is left over from that. Do they say what destinations?
  12. Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln. Rust again?
  13. While boringly conformist in my dress, I don’t think anyone would be dazzled by my outfits. However, I did think that, as a whole, the inhabitants of the restaurant indeed looked the part.
  14. This exchange certainly shows why US medicine is so expensive.
  15. I agree a Med. cruise is a ludicrous way to go to Rome, and the city is often very hot. But it is a lovely day to stay on the ship. And they often offer a gentle half day wine trip, with a short and pleasant drive through pretty countryside and some nice food and wine to taste. That can be much more agreeable.
  16. I think it is the Boat Show, which is the real killer!
  17. 2. Yes 3. Yes 4. I would talk to the Maitre d at lunch as soon as you embark, and explain what you envisage. They are usually very efficient. I assume you have filled in the special requirements form.
  18. Surely Cunard would try and help? And surely for 35 days one could claim a lot of stuff off the airline. Tedious, but better than wandering around in the same clothes for ages.
  19. It’s what they’ve been doing for years in my experience.
  20. Many (by no means all, I’m sure) of the maiden voyage hiccups had settled down even by the second voyage, which I was on. And the second week of that was much smoother than the first.
  21. Intercruises might be spread a bit more thinly than usual. And, if it is windy enough for tugs to be needed, there might be a little wait.
  22. I would hope they would ask if they could lend you some clothes.
  23. Yes, air travel adds a whole new set of factors to worry about. It is probably easier for women to overcome than men, as an informal dress will probably do for a gala night, in a way informal trousers might not.
