  1. The number of items/bag varies depending on the location of the cruise. It will be either 20 or 30, but they will specify. I'm interested to know if free laundry at the Zenith level includes dry cleaning and pressing. And I certainly hope that the laundry comes back on hangers like suite laundry does. Can one of the Zs answer this question?
  2. My YC cruises were both before cruising shut down. I have no idea what it's like now. I was so put off by the quality of the food and service and the increase in prices, I haven't even looked at one lately.
  3. Yup. MSC Yacht Club gets a lot of things right. No lines, no hassle anywhere. And their cabins are far superior to a sky suite on Celebrity. No climbing over some ridiculous tub wall to take a shower. However, their food is not as good as Celebrity's and the service in the dining room was pretty bad. Actually, that's being charitable. It's possible we had the worst waiter on the planet, but on both MSC cruises? Haven't been back since. That was more than I could handle. Our waiter on the second cruise was so bad, we quit going to the dining room and just ordered pizza. I prefer having more options than pizza for dinner.
  4. Whatever. I can't get too fussed about the room service charge, since I rarely order it. Tote bags? I have tons of them. Lobster? No biggie, it's not cold-water lobster. I just booked a tremendous bargain on a partial Panama Canal transit over Christmas 2024. With a refundable deposit. If things get as horrible as some of the doomsayers predict, I can always cancel. I still love cruising and the four cruises I did on Summit last year were fantastic.
  5. I believe the original question is whether or not it's worth giving up a night in Luminae for dinner in Le Petit Chef. Based on my experience, I would say no. I've been once because specialty dining was free with my suite. We had the lobster menu. It was fine, but I wouldn't have paid the upcharge or considered it worth the upcharge.
  6. Interesting comment about Retreat being full not being a good thing. In my experience, the Retreat is always full. We had 350 pax on our spring cruise on the Summit. Retreat was completely sold out. I have no idea if that was a result of move ups or not since I was in the PH and did not receive a move up offer. But the suites seem to book up right away and many cruises I look at have no availability in suites.
  7. Interesting. Got those in the PH in the spring but not in my RS in the fall.
  8. And be sure to bring your passport to Guest Relations when trying to cash a check.
  9. I agree. Whether or not I'm in the PH or a RS, I never send anything to the laundry that hasn't been laundered many times at home. Good stuff gets dry cleaned.
  10. 1) You sure sounded ticked off to me that they wouldn't change your booking. 2) I have no idea who you did or did not contact. 3) I never said that the tips were pooled. The cabin attendant gets X amount/day depending on what sort of cabin you have booked. So, if you withhold the cabin attendant's tips, the cabin attendant is penalized. It feels to me like you're arguing. I'm done with this discussion. Enjoy the rest of your day.
  11. I spent about a month on two B2B cruises on Summit in 2022. Some of the most wonderful cruises I've been on, in terms of staff, food, etc. Will see how my January 2023 cruise on Millie goes. Not in a suite on that one. Will probably book another cruise while on board. Suite pricing has gone crazy, so don't know if my suite days are done or not.
  12. Look, I get that this person is ticked off that they wouldn't let him change his booking. But he has resisted our suggestion that he escalate his complaint to the CEO's office. And he proposes to take his anger out on the cabin attendant by canceling the tips for that person. In my view, that is not an appropriate response. The cabin attendant had nothing to do with the situation and will have to make up the cabin whether or not he/she is compensated for doing so. I sail solo and have been subjected to this double payment regimen since they started AI. I would never dream of stiffing a cabin attendant because of it. I do not mind paying double gratuities. The major problem is paying double internet and drink packages.
  13. Not a change. It has always been this way.
  14. Wi-fi calling works fine on Celebrity if your phone is set up appropriately. I've only used it with the premium package, so cannot comment on the basic package.
  15. Yes, it's good to look for and remove them when the stuff comes back. But sometimes I forget and don't discover them for a while.
  16. The other thing I like about PH or RS laundry is there is no need to save stuff up. You can send it out piece by piece as you use it and it will come back on hangers and not shoved in a bag.
  17. There is no point in arguing with this guy, his mind is made up. FYI, @Los_Pepes, if you remove the gratuities from your kids' room and give the cabin attendant cash, he/she is obliged to turn the cash in to the pool.
  18. No charge for pressing, dry cleaning, laundry in PH. Within reason. Some people were having all their family's laundry etc. done, so they had to state limits.
  19. I've sailed with select dining and have never seen the likes of the lines currently being experienced. I believe the MDR is understaffed.
  20. Yes, this is one of the problems for solo cruisers if they book with the AI rate. They get the wonderful privilege of paying for two drink packages, two internet packages, and two sets of gratuities. I have no problem with the two sets of gratuities, but I would normally tip the cabin attendant extra at a rate that would reflect that. Celebrity could fix this if they wanted to, but clearly they do not. So, buyer beware. And there is no workaround if you book a suite. Suites automatically come with AI.
  21. Wait until you get on board to purchase this. Once you have seen the spa, you probably won't want to purchase a pass. It looks nothing like the pictures you see online.
  22. I'm one of the fans of longer cruises--the longer the better. What's not to like about having someone else do the cooking and cleaning and laundry? And having your hotel move at night as opposed to your having to move.
