  1. As listed in my signature, for the remainder of the year, we're doing (1) 12 days around the British Isles and Iceland on Silversea, (2) 20 days to New England and Atlantic Canada on Princess (b2b), and (3) 18 days to Galapagos on Celebrity Xpedition (b2b). We don't generally do Caribbean cruises because (a) they're just not that interesting to us, and (b) it's very difficult to get to Florida from Vancouver. Next year has lots of Mediterranean cruising in store with MSC and Cunard, along with a river cruise along the Douro on AMA, a Hawaii-Vancouver trip on Celebrity, and probably an Alaska cruise-land-cruise trip on Princess.
  2. On the final night of our last Infinity cruise, Blu had prime rib but no other dining room did.
  3. I find it strange that some people are saying they actually needed ID at any port. In the past six months, we've sailed to Iceland, Greenland, Australia, New Zealand, various South Pacific Islands, and multiple South American countries, and not once did anyone ask for a picture ID of any kind. All they ever wanted to see when we entered the port were our cruise cards. In fact, in Valparaiso, we didn't even need those to get back on the ship on turnaround day of a back-to-back.
  4. I always send dry cleaning out on Day One.
  5. At the earliest. They keep pushing the date back.
  6. We always take the stairs, so we generally don't have the starboard/port problem. In our experience, all the staircases end up such that starboard is right and larboard is left. though we sometimes mix up forward/aft if we forget which staircase we're on. The downside to the stairs is the terrible "artwork".
  7. I've always been pleased with the lamb. But the venison has always been overcooked in all venues, so I no longer order it.
  8. It used to be standard. $55 casino credit for $50.
  9. We should set up a betting pool for the over/under.
  10. If you're mobile, I recommend going on your own. And we actually like the Blue Mosque more than the Hagia Sofia.
  11. I'm waiting to see how many dozens of "me too" posts we'll see.
  12. I'll agree that reliability of the app has vastly improved, though the data is still very unreliable. But the user interface is still terrible compared to the web interface.
  13. In general, very few hand sanitizers are effective against viruses. Soap and water is always a better solution.
  14. I always check in on the web. The app is just too cumbersome and lacks some features that the website has.
  15. And the Uncle and the Teen. A&W is still here and very big in Canada.
  16. Either you were lucky or I was unlucky. Lobster was almost nonexistent on the Eclipse in November. Now the burger, on the other hand, is excellent. Very few places actually cook burgers to order anymore so it was really nice to have an actual medium rare burger.
  17. And the lobster content is about the size of a fingernail.
  18. It depends on the ship, but they're generally there as soon as they let people board.
  19. They come and they go. They even disappear and reappear randomly while on the ship. Do not trust the app.
  20. As I recall, I had steak and lobster and everything was overcooked, including the vegetables.
  21. Oh no. You mean Celebrity's IT isn't completely reliable?
  22. We ate at Fine Cut on the Apex and were very disappointed.
