  1. My wife often has seafood in Cagney's and hasn't had an issue with it.
  2. The usual base fare for a solo on NCL is equal to the base fare for two. They have been offering some cruises with no solo supplement recently to fill unsold cabins.
  3. Look at the OP's first post , which I've quoted above yours.
  4. The main dining rooms always have fish available for dinner.
  5. There are two or three seafood entrees on the Cagney's menu.
  6. I'm sure @psacwas referring to the Haven restaurant, where there is no upcharge for lobster tails.
  7. On ships built after the Gem...in other words from the Epic onward, there is a separate Haven restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner for Haven passengers, Breakfast and lunch on those ships is not served in Moderno and Cagney's .
  8. I was "a future responsible adult" who grew up in NY City and had no need to drive as I could take mass transit almost everywhere, so I didn't get a drivers license until I was 22 and had moved to the suburbs. How about a young person who has physical or intellectual challenges and can't drive? A school ID probably would suffice for their other ID needs, but a school ID isn't valid for cruising.
  9. Given that it hasn't run for several years I wouldn't spend any time building plans around using the trolleys.
  10. That's not the distance to Pier 88, which is located at W 48th St. The map is showing the distance to Pier 92/94, which is located at W 54th St. You're getting that result because you input "Manhattan Cruise Terminal" into your search, and Google Maps is using the office mailing address of the cruise terminal, which is 711 12th Ave.
  11. The Circle Line is located at Pier 83, West 42nd - 43rd St. and 12th Ave, so it's only 5 blocks south...about 1/4 mile...from Pier 88 where NCL ships dock.
  12. The tickets are good on all public buses and ferries. It's single ticket for any ride...Hamilton to Dockyard by either bus or ferry would cost a single ticket. FYI the bus ride from Hamilton to Dockyard takes about an hour, while the ferry takes half that time or less. I do admit to using the bus years ago as an informal sightseeing trip but normally I take the ferry. Do the math to see what works out best for you based on your travel plans...individual ride tokens at $4.50 each, a 15 ticket book for $37.50, an one day adult unlimited pass at $19 per person or a two day unlimited pass at $31.50 per person (the latter unlikely to be a good choice for a day and a half ).
  13. NCL's San Juan-based cruises use Pan American pier. The information can be found on ncl.com: https://www.ncl.com/getting-to-the-pier/driving-directions#!#sanjuan Name/Location of Pier Panamerican Pier Dock 1 or East
  14. Viking includes beer and wine with lunch and dinner. Oceania fare always includes internet.
  15. There's absolutely no way NCL would be interested NCL needs to hold on to every penny of its cash on hand right now. It can't fill the ships it already has sailing so the last thing it needs right now is additional capacity. NCL also has sister ships to the recently-launched Prima on order...ships of its own design, not a ship that would require extensive and expensive redoing to meet NCL's requirements.
  16. The manifest is not sent to CBSA until after the ship sails.
  17. Actually it was always customs, not immigration, that would have been the problem. In the days when you were required to fill out a customs declaration it would be the hang up because a single declaration form was used for all members of the household and you all cleared customs together, with all your luggage available for inspection if necessary. I can recall some years ago that my wife and I somehow got separated and she ended up with a different CBP officer and was quickly escorted over to join me because I had the declaration in hand and she had none. Today, with no customs declaration forms needed in almost all situations that problem doesn't exist.
  18. As I said in my post " This FAQ hasn't been updated to reflect the new fee scheme, probably because the new fee structure hasn't been fully rolled out yet" . "Hasn't been fully rolled out yet" means it isn't yet fleetwide.
  19. No testing is required to fly in to Puerto Rico. You'll have to check if your cruise line is still requiring testing to board.
  20. @julig22 is right. Gratuities on room service are only charged on non-complimentary food and beverage items . Gratuities have never been charged on top of the delivery service charge. This FAQ hasn't been updated to reflect the new fee scheme, probably because the new fee structure hasn't been fully rolled out yet, but the conceptual framework should still be good. https://www.ncl.com/faq#!#norwegian-cruise-line-now-charging-room-service Is Norwegian Cruise Line now charging for room service? Norwegian Cruise Line has introduced an enhanced room service menu. The new menu offers an expanded selection for breakfast, in addition to a wider variety of options available 24 hours. Individual items on the menu remain available on a complimentary basis and a convenience charge of up to $9.95 USD will be added to each order placed (Morning coffee, continental breakfast and orders placed by guests sailing in The Haven will not attract a charge)*. A 20% gratuity and beverage service charge will be added for non-complimentary beverages and special occasion items. Room service is one of up to 29 dining options offered across the fleet, and guests continue to be able to enjoy a wide array of complimentary choices onboard 24 hours a day. *Prices subject to change.
  21. It's $5 per day, so $75 for 15 days, plus 35% exchange equals $101.25, plus $2 per delivery tip equals $131.25, so about $20 less than you calculated.
  22. Because as of now you're not restricted to a cruise line sponsored excursion. You can go ashore on your own or take an independent excursion. Or, I can book a different cruise line excursion that isn't sold out. If I'm paying the same base fare and port taxes as you are how is it acceptable from a business practices perspective to say you can go ashore but I can't because I was standing behind you in line?
  23. I answered your question shortly after you posted it and included a link to NCL's Terms and Conditions and quoted their wording . @European_CruiseGirl also answered your question in a slightly different way a few hours later. Either way, your beverage package doesn't cover room service drinks.
