Sorry I missed that in the fine print!
Laem Chabang, the ocean port for Bangkok, is 124,9 km (1 hr 24 mins) from Bangkok. Does Australia have existing ports in that radius which could be used for Sydney?
Great itinerary -
Cairns
Thursday Island
Darwin
Benoa, Bali
Singapore
Laem Chabang
Then you could visit Bangkok independently.
I hope Viking has similar last minute deals in the future, as I'd love to cruise with them.
I understand your frustration having to maintain a pool and not be able to use it.
We've had a lot of unusual winter rain, but we have had warm/hot weather.
As I'm always looking for Solo Cruise Deals, I thought I'd start a thread for solo deals.
Departing 26/10/22 - Viking - Cairns to Laem Chabang for Bangkok - 16 days, 4 included guided tours - $4,495.
(I'd definitely book this one, but I'm already on holidays and I have to renew my passport.) I thought 2023 was on the overseas cruise horizon, not 2022!
Sounds like it would be entertaining to just watch them. My daughters have two whippets who sleep most of the day after a long morning walk. But then one decides one is resting on his favourite spot or has his favourite toy and it is on!
I see you are going to beautiful Moreton Island for five days from 14/10 on Pacific Explorer. I hope you have good weather. Have you been on that ship before.
Oh dear, I'm sorry to hear you are in so much unresolved pain. You'd have to have a sense of humour when hospital won't give you as much pain relief as you have at home.
Must be a joy to go home to your little dog who must miss you when you are away.
What arrogance from NCL President and CEO Harry Sommer who would like to bring a PRIMA Class ship to Sydney. "If we could convince the Government to build another port or raise the bridge , we would love to home port a ship in Sydney."
Has he not heard of Countries trying to recover from the worldwide pandemic?
Because it is cyclone season with no guarantee yet that cruises will spend time in PNG. Queenslanders dream of cruising north in winter, we go south in summer.
Agree with regard to your last point. Cruising with my daughter we won a musical trivia because we have the same taste. Being a solo with a mixed group is hard work when you "know" the answer but another member of team thinks he "knows". Takes tack, then biting your tongue.
Unfortunately Solomon Island has always had problems within themselves. Maybe Australia is just trying to help them so China doesn't.
It is such a pity as Solomon Islands could be a great place for Australian tourists to visit.
I hope that is not true in the South Pacific.
When our ship got back to Ushuaia, Argentina from Antarctica, our ship couldn't get permission to disembark. Passengers were due to board a charter plane back to Buenos Aires. I heard the Captain say did you give them a bottle of something?. They replied yes, Then they got a tradesman, up from the bowels of the ship, who spoke the language. Problem solved and we disembarked.
