  1. I have a Travelscoot and have brought it onboard NCL, HAL, MSC etc. and also on many airlines - no problems. Lithium battery has to be taken off the scooter and brought into the airplane with me. I have a bag that I put the battery in - I bought it from Travelscoot but I think any cloth bag would be fine.
  2. I wondered if the ship was not at capacity and my cabin was not occupied if Azamara would allow us to board on the evening of June 16th? I may ask our TA to find out for us if it's possible. My husband wants to go out of town and it would help if we are already on the ship the evening before then he could go off early on the 17th to do the tour he wants to take for the day. The next day could be problematic time wise for the whole day tour so going on the 17th would be better for him.
  3. We are boarding the Journey in Bordeaux on June 17th and I noticed that they will be docked the night before (June 16th). We are booked in a hotel in Bordeaux the night of June 16th and I wonder if it's possible instead to get on the ship on the evening of June 16th instead of June 17th?
  4. OMG - I love your sense of humour. I laughed so hard at the "diamonds" story. I had some really good laughs at your post. I also have great admiration for Jill!!!!
  5. I am always cold so I wear my lightweight "puffer" jacket on the plane which I usually find very cold. It is easy to carry and fold up when I don't need it and I am always happy to have it for the return plane trip. Once we arrive at the airport and wait outside for a taxi I can wear the jacket.
  6. I have a Travelscoot and wonder if I will be able to see any parts of Mont St. Michel? Any info would be appreciated.
  7. We have had Medoc for many years and had some medical emergencies that they reimbursed. The last couple of years we have had problems getting reimbursed. I am still fighting with Medoc 14 months after submitting a claim. They keep asking us to fill in forms that we submitted to them many months ago. To say I am frustrated with them is an understatement. When I try to phone them I wait for a live person for over an hour and then hang up in frustration. The part that really hurts is seeing that deduction from my bank account for the policy this year that is costing us $285 every month. I certainly won't be staying with Medoc next year if they continue to ignore me and make ridiculous demands for forms that we have completed and sent to them more than once. When I send them an e-mail with particular questions and information I get their stock reply that they will respond when they can and they apologize for the delay etc. etc. Same thing over and over like a broken record.
  8. I think you might be able to use the shore excursion credit for the transfer to or from the ship (to and from the airport) if it combines a tour with transportation. I asked when we were on the Rotterdam recently and I think thats' what they told me.
  9. Exactly. I just need the room in the cabin to charge my battery and I could take my battery in the cabin and my husband could bring my scooter somewhere to store it overnight. I wish there was a way to do this on ships. Would help lots of us with scooters who can still walk enough in their cabin and can part with their scooters overnight etc.
  10. The form for Air Canada is very similar to the one for United. Different format but basically the same questions. Air Canada suggest having one copy for them and one copy for the scooter owner.
  11. It really is sad to hear that non-disabled book the accessible cabins when they don't need them. For people who do need them it makes travelling very difficult. Those accessible cabins are few and far between and get booked up about a year ahead of time. Really a shame for the disabled. I wish the cruise lines would ensure that the cabins are not booked by guests who don't need them
  12. That makes sense. Thanks (and we have it).
  13. I wonder what happens for the passengers who arrive to port a day or two late and have non-refundable flights (that they missed)? Does HAL reimburse costs for those flights etc.?
  14. I think you might have gotten on the bus at Woolworth store. I don't know of any store called Woolrich.
  15. I hate to see this topic discussed. We are booked on a couple of cruises in the next few months and I would be sick if I ended up in a cabin with bed bugs. My worst fear would be to bring them home with me. I have heard it's very costly and very difficult to get rid of them from your home. I hope to never encounter them.
  16. Hope the OP can get the answer before the cruise. I guess the worse case scenario is wait until they board and ask at the desk if there is someplace to bring the scooter for charging. You would think there would be somewhere for a scooter - hope so. I will be in the same position someday because we are finding it difficult to get an accessible cabin even one whole year before the cruise.
  17. I live near Ottawa in Gatineau, Quebec and the trees are beautiful right now. I would say nearly at their peak as far as colour. They are starting to drop a little so mid October should be good for nice colours next year. It does vary from year to year, depending on the temperature but mid-October should be good.
  18. I bring my "puffer jacket" with me on all my trips. I find airports and airplanes to be very cold and keep my puffer jacket on while travelling. When I don't need it, I can fold it up and stuff it into my carry-on suitcase. They don't take much room and don't weight much either. So practical and comfy. You see so many people wearing them now and I know why. I just bought my second one because the one I bought a few years ago needs a rest!
  19. If I were you I would call NCL or whoever you booked your cruise with to verify the shareholder benefit. Good luck and I hope you can get it.
  20. We have a 14 day cruise booked for April 2023 and now we are going to book the next cruise on the same ship for 10 days (we will have to book with a different company and it will be a different cabin etc.) Will be get shareholder benefits for each of those 2 cruises or only one shareholder credit? (There will be different booking numbers as well).
  21. Have you heard the saying "Happy wife, happy life"???? You know who should get the $50.
  22. Such a lovely post to read. Wish everyone was as nice (and generous) as you.
  23. I enjoyed reading all your posts. Thanks especially for those last names and numbers (I am married to a Tremblay). We had a similar exhibit in Hull, Quebec with the garden sculptures and loved it. Went a few times while they were here and hope they return sometime. Sure enjoyed your humorous posts. Thank you.
  24. That's great news. Thank you. I will definitely write that on the laundry sheet. I was quite worried and now I will not be afraid to send my stuff. Good advice about using the dry cleaning as well.
  25. We will have the free laundry on our next cruise. My concern is sending clothing that will shrink in the dryer. Is there any way to request a 'COOL" setting for certain clothing I send to the laundry on the ship? A lot of my stuff is cotton and it will shrink in the dryer if it's a hot dryer setting. I hang laundry outside on a clothes line at home - rarely use the dryer.
