  1. I assume that is directed at me for posting the revised itinerary for 17 October Journey cruise. It was not a link, but in precisely the same format as post #157 on the roll call thread. There was no way of identifying the TA from my post. Can you explain please why my post was removed yet the one on rollcall was not? Looking at the timeframe, that one was posted a couple of hours before mine, and I've only just seen it, so it feels like discrimination! My sole intention was to try and provide a heads up since the Az website in the UK had not been updated.at that time.
  2. We generally board in time for lunch, would be earlier but they do not cover breakfast for new guests on embarkation day! 😆
  3. I agree entirely, we sailed May this year and it just seemed pointless to have this elitist bar totally lacking in atmosphere and generally frequented by few!
  4. Not a chance, read the small print! 😉
  5. I found those, posted on a recent review of Star Pride, August 2023. https://sandinmysuitcase.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Cocktail-Menu-on-Windstar.pdf https://sandinmysuitcase.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Windstar-Wine-Menu.pdf
  6. Doesn't that mean you lose the b2b OBC which is applied to both cruises? Or is it about one cruise, rather than two cruises, EM package being better value than lost OBC?
  7. Personally, I don't see the problem. For me OBC is precisely what it says on the tin...On Board Credit...that is the only way I'd expect to spend it! 😉
  8. Yes, not a problem to carry the drink with you.
  9. Unless the strategy is to only have two dry docks across a period where one would have expected three dry docks. Delaying the scheduled one for a couple of years would play into that approach.
  10. We've never done this, but it poses the question what if the restaurant you prefer is fully booked and so you book a time in the other one. In that situation I see no issue in ordering across the other menu, and we'd have no problem at all waiting a little longer for it to arrive!
  11. As a black coffee drinker, I agree the best by far on Az is at Mosaic. Generally I take one with me for MDR breakfast, and head straight there following.

    Booking

An example might help show what he means, as follows: Let's say the total cruise price is 5000, and the TA offers a 10% discount in the form of a rebate off the cruise price or a cheque sent to you. If a rebate is chosen you will pay the TA 4500; If you go with a cheque, you will pay the TA 5000 and later a cheque for 500 will be sent to you. In both cases your net cost would be 4500, described as 'a wash' because the end result is the same, albeit arrived at by different means. In relation to the cc 3% cashback, if you pay 5000 by cc then you get 150 back and if you pay4500 then you would get 135 back, although he appears to not describe this element accurately!
  13. uktog....interesting, thank you! Methinks you are morphing away from Az, I speculate by this time next year you may be a Viking cheerleader. Now, pre-Heike departure and Sycamore buying Az, who could have foreseen such seismic change coming! 😂
  14. All inside, outside and veranda cabins have identical shower trays which are small. Yes, they all have curtains.
  15. Wow......I saw it on black and white cooncil telly, there were no other options in those days as you know. In our wildest dreams could never have believed we would one day cruise, and do so again, and again......So privileged!
  16. Indeed, both Govan and Clydebank are a shadow of their former selves, in past times heavy engineering as well as shipbuilding! Both are still trying, and struggling, to reenergise their areas yet currently failing to do so meaningfully!
  17. Indeed. For those same overseas friends the Cunard QE2, now a refitted 'hotel' in Dubai or at least a visitor attraction, was built just 'doon, and across, the watter' and launched from there in the late 60's. We are old enought to remember that, and have a friend who was taken on a school trip to see the launch. Sadly, changed days for Clyde shipbuilding!
  18. The cruise is a Perry Golf Themed, in case that bothers you. Most non-golfers report it doesn't impact other passengers. Theme Cruise: PerryGolf Cruise - Azamara stands alone in the cruise industry in offering a seamlessly integrated golf cruise program to many of the world’s finest destinations. Our extensive, worldwide portfolio is provided in partnership with PerryGolf, a leading operator of international golf travel, and delivers a highly refined and fully hosted all-inclusive experience, from start to finish. PerryGolf’s staff on board and ashore arranges every aspect of the golf program from daily pairings and competitions to social events and handling your golf clubs which you’ll find set up at each course awaiting your arrival from the ship.
  19. Maybe they'll build it on the Clyde, even Govan! 🤣
  20. 🤔 Erm....in my experience much larger ships = more indoor spaces = less crowded, as there are numerous venues available! Why would you expect an 'R' class ship to not be crowded indoors, with inclement weather? 🤔 🤔
