  1. It can be purchased any time, and will be charged for that day plus remaining days of the cruise.
  2. Delighted to read a 'bad news' thread, with a happy ending....well done. You should ask the agency to seek a complimentary upgrade, given the stress Az caused you, although TBF given thread timelines it seems to have been resolved the same day it arose!
  3. The main downside to Simply More is there is no upside! 😉
  4. Precisely written, thanks. Personally I find it ridiculous that passengers can tie up inventory this way. The deposit loss penalty is fair, but unfortunately will not deter everyone from this practice! The remedy for significant changes like Antarctica, or Doha for world cup is a credit card dispute. In that case the credit card company is the arbitrer, and you will receive a full refund that way if your case is fair.
  5. Indeed, I think most folks on these boards realise so! The secret is to remove stalks, pips, peel and compare fibre, vitamin C and potassium levels etc. Only after doing so should you then assess how the pricing compares. 😉
  6. I have no idea how it works in the USofA.....in the UK, there is absolutely no doubt a Section 75 (credit card) claim would be upheld by your bank simply on the basis of such a radical change of name of the cruise....a clear sign that the original contracted cruise is not being fulfilled!
  7. post #6 and #8 nailed it, so no need for me to repeat! 😉
  8. Yes, but either way, there is a much greater chance of your allocated cabin being in one of the less desirable locations on the ship.
  9. Indeed! We actually cancelled an 18 night repositioning cruise to Dubai with MSC Virtuosa in Yacht Club at final payment and took the deposit hit for November past. TBF, it was due to the Russian conflict, and an unease about sailing through the middle east area. Up until the Hamas attack on Israel, and subsequent escalation in that area we thought it somewhat of an over reaction but realise now we made the right call. We ended up in the Caribbean instead, thoroughly enjoyed it and have no regrets. It may well be we never traverse the middle east again, it's utterly horrifying to see the devastation in our world and the innocent lives lost or torn apart.
  10. If you live in the UK, or anywhere else for that matter, you surely must have heard of 'supply and demand'! 😉
  11. Based on what you wrote above, I am surprised that UK terms & conditions around all types of vacation bookings would be such a shock to you. Small print rules! Because we have discovered that, for the first time in many years, US agency pricing can be much lower than the UK our last 3 cruises and the next one we booked that way. As JB has stated, within the US system it is only a relatively small admin fee lost if prices drop significantly before final payment.
  12. The first thing to say is, as some have reported, the weather from Athens to Tenerife is unpredictable. I wouldn't be too concerned about seas in the Med apart from potential swells traversing on sea days i.e. Dubrovnik to Valetta, Civitavecchia to Valencia and Gibraltar straight down to Tenerife. Your sea days are mid pushing towards late November, so definite potential for choppy days. From Tenerife to the Caribbean we have sailed this route 3 times during November in the past 5 years, with fantastic warm weather and calm seas every time.
  13. And can be booked by UK residents, I've just checked my 'go to' US website and the cruise only USD price quoted is genuine!
  14. Having cruised with Az from and back to Chioggia, I would caution not to depend on online car services from there.....you may be OK, but personally I wouldn't do that as such vehicles are in scarce supply there. Our post-cruise Chioggia hotel organised a private transfer for us, and I would definitely endorse GCs above recommendation to have the onboard concierge organise a private transfer.
  15. I think that would be the best call, it's a larger ship and the Riviera (not an R class vessel) better cabins. The R class ships are identical to Azamara ships, with 95% of cabins having tiny showers. We have cruised both Az and Oceania and would choose Oceania going forward if both cruiselines offered similar itineraries. Main upside is the culinary experience is superior to Az; main downside is that overall Az crew are much more passenger friendly....we don't really care about that aspect within reason. Wouldn't hesitate to use either line again, our next trip booked is Oceania Insignia, which is R class, chosen for a fabulous itinerary.
  16. Do Regent make staterooms available to guests in a 'timely manner'?
  17. Seems to be a contradiction here...are you saying that it is acceptable on an all inclusive line for some drinks to be chargeable, yet unacceptable for the 'bespoke' or 'elevated' dining experiences as described by FlyerTalker to be chargeable?? 🤔🤔
  18. From the Azamara UK website: At Azamara Cruises, we're dedicated to crafting seamless and stress-free voyages, and our commitment begins even before you set foot on our ships. We understand that your journey should be about making memories, not navigating paperwork. That's why we've introduced our hassle-free easy check-in process. When you arrive at the port with your documents in hand, you've already done the heavy lifting. We take care of the rest, ensuring that your boarding experience is as effortless as your vacation should be. Here is what you can expect during your easy check-in: - Present a valid passport - Sign the cruise ticket contract - Swipe credit card for incidentals - Take a picture for your keycard  So, leave your worries behind, and embark on your Azamara journey with peace of mind, knowing that we're here to make every moment extraordinary.
  19. Precisely, and exactly our recent experience on 3 short B2B cruises with Azamara, Windstar and Emerald.
  20. No point in repeating what others have said. The above posts most accurately express my opinion of Az with regard to 95% of 11/13 year olds (particularly on a long sailing).

    OBC Cuarrency?

That doesn't sound credible to me, the Az onboard currency is USD and the 1000 promised surely will be applied on board. Where you live, and the currency used to pay for the cruise, will not alter the onboard currency
  22. I can only speak for TA provided OBC....on our Star Pride last month that definitely could not be applied against our gratuities.
  23. Indeed, roll calls are generally much quieter than pre-Covid. As an aside we sailed Windstar last month also and all rollcalls have low response levels, some even zero posts in response to a rollcall being created!
