  1. How about asking on the ports of call board for Bermuda. EM
  2. Pre-Covid it was recommended to do the land portion first as it can be more energetic/hectic, then relax on the cruise portion. But with increasing reports of people testing positive, I would do the cruise first. EM
  3. There is a thread on the HAL board with some good info. EM
  4. All of the dining rooms have the same menu, just different decor. The aft dining room used to be traditional dining. Don’t know how that works now. EM
  5. Carnival still allows smoking in their casinos, as does Princess, although Princess will have non-smoking nights. MSC Armonia had a lovely smoking lounge, but I don’t remember about Divina or Seaside. EM
  6. In December 2019 on Island it was in the main theater. EM
  7. Consider asking on the ports of call board for Alaska. EM
  8. Although on a different line, there is a couple who do the world cruise every year on HAL. Without a world cruise this year, they spent from mid-December until April between Nieuw Amsterdam and Nieuw Statendam. Between two of the cruises, one tested positive. They debarked in FLL, isolated in a hotel for the length of that cruise, then rejoined the ship on the next leg. I also believe HAL paid…. They always do Live From reports, so it’s on the HAL forum. EM
  9. You missed the point entirely. No one is concerned about a different rate. It’s about ‘I have this cruise booked and can’t go, pay me what I paid and go instead’. Now, if the OP was paying for all cabins and not being reimbursed by the other couple it’s irrelevant. EM
  10. There have been multiple threads discussing this on this board and others in the last couple of weeks. Just scroll back a few pages. EM
  11. Changing out everyone in the cabin is essentially reselling the cruise, which is. It allowed. EM
  12. I’m embarrassed to say I don’t remember where we boarded QE. But wherever your ‘door’ is, it will feed you into the lobby. I suspect it will be on deck 3, Promenade. When you debark in ports, it will be on deck 1 or lower…. But don’t worry about it, just follow the crowds. EM
  13. Rick Steve’s’ Scandinavian and Northern European cruise ports. He will tell you what there is to do/see and how to do it yourself. Also check to ports of call boards here for Northern Europe. EM
  14. Especially when you have a daughter going off to college…. EM
  15. There is a current Live thread a bit down the page. Why not check it out? EM
  16. Ships are by now quite accustomed to special diets, including gluten free. It is always best to notify special needs prior to your cruise, but when onboard, in the MDR, speak to your head waiter. Every night they will give you the menu for the next night and help you choose your meal. There is always an Indian vegetarian choice. There is always Indian and Asian food available, though not always on the menu. Much of the crew is Indian/Filipino/Indonesian and thus it is always available in the crew mess. You would be surprised what you can get when you inquire nicely. There is an Indian section aft on Panorama deck by the Serenity area. I think it may only be open for lunch. EM
  17. Janet was above average height, blonde, average looks. She had a brother, I think younger… she played piano. EM
  18. I had a nursing school classmate who went to high school in the Canal Zone. her dad was a minister, but I don’t think he was military. If she graduated there, she also would have been class of ‘62. Last name was Hine. EM
  19. Since my iPad doesn’t have a mouse, I am not able to see this. And I don’t feel like firing up my laptop. EM
  20. The Colombia board is not very active….I tried the search there, and got nothing. Have you tried Google or trip advisor? EM Also try cruiseportinsider.com
