  1. Hi Everyone, I am home. I have a soft tissue strain and they gave me pain meds. The mistaken medicine they gave me by IV was an antibiotic, which they say will not hurt me. I don't know whether I believe them, but I have the name of the stuff and I will let my PCP know what it is. I am just glad I don't have a blood clot. Having had four (2 in each lung) I was scared to death that I had another. It was the same kind of pain. Thank you all for your concern and prayers. Terri
  2. Hello everyone, All I know right now is that I do not have a blood clot. It was a mistake and they gave me medicine that they should have given to someone else, so I don’t know what’s wrong with me all I know is that I got medicine that I shouldn’t have gotten, more later Terri
  3. Hi everyone. I have not read the post today. Just want to let you know that I am in the emergency room to rule out a blood clot in my lungs. I will post later with the results. Haven’t been feeling well for the last few days hope everyone is OK. Will post later, God bless Terri
  4. Good afternoon everyone. I am really late today. Slept late and that made everything else late. We have had to be up at 8 am every morning because of workers in our house so today was the only day we were able to sleep late. Thank you to all that contributed to the Daily. I have just finished reading through all the posts and have already forgotten half of what I have read. As for the days. Multiple personalities—don’t know anyone in that category, thank God. Film Reel Day—love old movies. We had some family movies on reel made into DVDs./ As for namesake, From what I understand there was a real todo about naming me. My paternal grandmother was Rosaria, but called Sadie, My maternal grandmother was Francesca. In Italian families the tradition is that the first born is named after the father’s parents and then the mother’s. Well, my mother was adamant that I not be called Sadie. In the end I was named Theresa, because my father had a small statue of Saint Theresa on his key ring. Since I never knew my father until I was an adult, I thought it was very interesting that he showed me that statue that he still had many years later. For whatever that was worth. As for the meal, the pot roast recipe looks delicious, but will save it for another day. Will take a pass on the drink, but will consider the wine. Never been to the port. Prayers for all who need them and Cheers to those celebrating and cruising. Happy Sunday, God Bless, Terri
  5. Good morning. Happy Saturday. The tilers continue to work at our house, surprised that they are here on a Saturday, but not complaining. The sooner they finish, the happier we will be. The TV table was finally done at 6 pm last evening. All I will say about this is that I will never buy another thing from Wayfair. This caused more aggravation than I need in my life at this time. It was only at my unending persistence that i finally got someone here to do it—6 hours later than the original appointment. Thank you to Sandi, Vanessa, Ann, Debbie and Dixie for all your contributions to keep this thread going. I, for one, appreciate the dedication you all have to this thread. Yesterday, in all my angst, I actually thought about all of the participants on this thread who are, or who have been, caregivers. I prayed for all of you. As I said, it is a labor of love. Having been in this position myself, I know that there are times when it is challenging and tiring and you just want to hang it all up and let someone else do it. But anyone who is or was a caregiver never regrets having been in that role. I will be skipping the meal because it is too spicy. Also take a pass on the wine and drink. As I have said before, I have spent lots of time in San Juan and in the whole island of Puerto Rico. Back in my younger days I studied in Ponce learning Spanish. It paid off in my work. I also spent time as the liaison for my office with the office in San Juan, having to make many business trips. Have a number of friends there and always enjoy a stop there on a cruise ship. Most of my photos are pre-digital, so I cannot post them. Many happy days there. Prayers for all on the cares list. Cheers for all celebrating and cruising. Hope everyone has a good day. Take care and stay safe. God Bless Terri
  6. Not when I have paid Wayfair for the service and they will not refund the money. They just want to change the date,.
  7. Well, here is my update. Wayfair never showed. Not happy. I really think I have a dark cloud over my head. They are making all kinds of excuses. They cannot even give me a time when they will be here. I already gave away the old TV table so now I have nothing. I am so annoyed. i guess I cannot expect everything to go right. C’est la vie. Terri
  8. Good Friday morning to all. i am happy to report that the tilers are here and working hard. They expect to have the tiling work finished by Wednesday or Thursday. They tell me that they will be here everyday but Sunday at 8am. Guess I will not be able to be in my PJs into late morning for the next week or so. Got a late start as I had a lot of people moving about in the house. Then of course, there has been a big trial going on here in the Low Country of South Carolina and I had to watch the sentencing of Alex Murdaugh. The guy got the book thrown at him and he deserved what he got in my opinion and it appears the opinion of everyone else around these parts. Now I am waiting for the guy from Wayfair to show up to put my TV table together. I already gave away the old one. One of the tilers was happy to take it off our hands. Thank you Sandi for the Daily and Fleet Report. The days are interesting All caregivers deserve recognition. We cared for my Mom for 11 years prior to her death and we cared for Jim’s brother for 40 years. He passed away in October of 2021. It is not an easy job, but a labor of love. Hats off to all those who take on this responsibility. Everyone wants to be happy and wants others to be happy and it gives us joy to make others happy. Not sure about “If pets have thumbs”. Thank you @grapau27for the explanation. I like the quote. Never been to the port. Prayers for all on the Cares list, @rafinmd hope you are doing better. @smitty34877prayers for your DH and his medical issues. Also prayers for Tana @StLouisCruisers prayers for your DB with his diagnosis and treatments. Also prayers for @mamaofami, @Scrapnana, @NextOne, and @lazey1, and @kazu the people of Ukraine, New Zealand, victims of the earthquake and the train derailment in Greece. If I missed anyone, I’m sorry. As I write this, I have lots of Mexican music coming from the bathroom. As long as they are working, I don’t care what they play., I have to get ready for the guy from Wayfair. More later. Have a good day and stay safe. God Bless, Terri
  9. Finally! The Contractor and the Tilers will be here tomorrow morning at 9 am. Terri
  10. Good morning friends. Happy Thursday. Thank you to Sandi @StLouisCruisersfor starting us off this morning. And thank you also to Vanessa @JazzyV for the Cares and Celebration Lists. I am sorry to see that the Cares list is growing. More people to pray for. i never mind praying but it saddens me that there are so many of us with illnesses and troubles. All of you are in my prayers. @smitty34877 I am sorry to hear that DH has yet another problem. Prayers especially for him and also for you. You have had your share of problems and handle it all so well. I hope Tana is doing okay today. @StLouisCruisersPrayers for your DB that the doctors can somehow sort out his treatment and the way to pay for it. @rafinmdhope you are feeling stronger every day. @kazu hope that elbow is healing. @grapau27Hope Sarah is doing well. I like the days. We have been getting rid of stuff as we try to put the house back together again. We had some medical equipment from DBIL that was hanging around and yesterday we brought it over to a local church that accepts it and lends out medical equipment as needed. So it is no longer taking up space in our garage and it will be put to good use. Also DH has (and I counted) 45 tee shirts. I read him the riot act and told him he can only keep 15. The old ragged ones have to go and then the others have to go to a thrift shop. He never wears half of them, but always has to buy one when we go somewhere new. As for me, I am perfect (LOL) I only have the stuff I need. Believe that and I have a bridge I can sell you. As for cats, Hats off to those of you who have them. I don’t I will pass on the cocktail and the meal. The wine sounds nice and within the budget. We are still in waiting mode in regard to the bathroom. No word from the Contractor. Getting tired of this. It is another warm sunny day here in Bluffton. We are already wearing shorts. The pollen is falling and turning everything green. We cannot put our cars in the garage so my silver car is now green. Can’t wait to clean out the garage but cannot do that until the contractor is gone. Hope everyone has a great day and stays safe. God Bless. Terri
  11. Sandi, I am so sorry to hear this. He is definitely in my prayers. Sometimes the drug companies will cover the cost as well as a trial. He is definitely in my prayers. I am so sorry I missed this before. I am so wrapped up in my own situation that I am forgetting about everyone else. Prayers for your brother and his family and for you as well. God Bless, Terri
  12. Thank you for the kind words. It’s nice to know that this is a soft place to fall and people understand what others are going through. I won’t even say what DH proposed as a solution rather than going to a hotel when the toilet wasn’t working on Saturday. It makes me realize that he has no clue about the anatomy of a woman. Unbelievable! Life goes on. Terri
  13. Doctor has emergency surgery scheduled for that day. Not something I can argue about. If I were the one needing surgery, I would want it done as soon as possible. It was only after I pressed them, did I get a better answer than “for my convenience”. Terri
  14. Wayfair is sending someone on Friday to assemble it. Too heavy and complicated. Have to simplify my life. Terri
  15. Good morning to all of you. Happy Wednesday. Interesting collection of days. Not sure what to think about National Pig Day. We do like Pork Chops so maybe I’ll follow RNB’s lead and go to Sonny’s BBQ for dinner. Hat’s off to the Peace Corps and the wonderful work they do around the world. And last but not least, who doesn’t like Peanut Butter. I have not been to the port. Maybe someday. We were supposed to go on a Canada/New England cruise this coming Sept. but have changed our plans somewhat and are going to Italy instead. It may be our only opportunity to do so. Not sure we will ever be able to do it again. The wine seems nice but seems hard to get. We will pass on the drink. Not sure about the quote. Still no word on the bathroom. Not even hearing from the Contractor. The only phone call I got today was from the Mayo Clinic regarding my appointment on March 6. They moved it again to March 22 (For my convenience). So I was going to see my cousin that night, but she won’t be around because she is going on a trip to Europe. That’s about all I have for today. Prayers for everyone. We are holding our own and doing the best we can under the circumstances. God Bless, Terri
  16. I only made the reservation this week. Will join the roll call. Terri
  17. Welcome to the Oceania Board. i will be on the same cruise. Hope we get to meet. I have not yet checked if there is a roll call. Looking forward to being on the Vista. Terri
  18. Well, the TV table arrived. It was so heavy we could not pick up the box and bring it into the house. We had to unpack it at the front door. We have all the pieces laid out in the living room. We have decided to have Wayfair come and put it together. We have spent so much money at this point that what is another $80 bucks. We just can’t do it. So they will be here on Friday morning to put it together. Putting this thing together is just too much. Too heavy and beyond us. Just can’t do it. I guess at this point you are all realizing that DH is starting to have some problems and I am handling everything alone. I really need some prayers. Have been hesitant to say anything but this flood has put him over the edge. No wonder I can’t sleep. Terri
  19. This is a balcony room. I will go back to Cruisedecks.com and see if I can get a picture of a PH room and hope there is photo of the bathroom. I will tell you from experience that the toilet is very close to the vanity and you can use the vanity to hold on to to get up. Here is a picture of the PH bathroom It is larger than balcony bathroom and probably will be easier for your Mom. Hope this helps. Terri
  20. The toilet is very close to the sink vanity on one side where you would be able to hold on to that to help you stand up. That is in the PH. I cannot speak for the other cabins. Don’t know if that would be sufficient for your needs. Here’s a photo of a balcony bathroom. Terri
  21. Vanessa, My stomach is not being sensitive now. This is something I have been living with for years. i just know what I can and cannot eat. Do not give me bell peppers, chili or anything that is spicy hot. My tummy does not like them. I look at Debbies recipes and drool. Many of the meals are just not for me. Thanks for your kind words. Terri
