  1. You do not have have a balcony cabin. You have an outside view cabin with a window. Which ship are you booked on? Go to the Princess web site. Select onboard our ships, deck plans, and then your ship. Search the deck plans for a category OC cabin and you will see which cabins fit this category. Outside view cabins are mostly on the lower decks. There may be a few outside view cabins on the upper decks in certain locations.
  2. I can tell you that the Majestic was built for the Asian market. It is a Royal Class ship with some different offerings and design. It has an indoor pool, The Hollywood Pool Club and an enclosed forward looking lounge, The Hollywood Conservatory. I have been to Reykjavik by cruise ship. There are lots of very interesting things to do many of them have to do with the volcanic activity such as the Blue Lagoon. Halifax is a great port. The ship docks at the end of a roughly mile long waterfront promenade, easy to walk. There are also trips to many locations such as Peggy's Cove.
  3. Botticelli DR is on deck 6 aft. To access this DR you have to walk aft on deck 7 or above and take the aft elevators or stairs down to the DR. It is the largest of the DRs, and the furthest away from the mid ship lounges. To exit the DR you have to go up at least one flight. Da Vinci DR is on deck 6 mid ship. Approximately 1/3 of the space is used for reserve class dining. Michelangelo DR, deck 5 mid ship, is the same size as Da Vinci but the entire DR is used for regular dining.
  4. Caribe deck balconies on the Emerald Princess are 9ft x 9ft with 5ft of cover and 4ft uncovered. As others mentioned the interiors are the same size and configured the same as all other balcony category cabins BF up to B1.
  5. You can book Princess tours now. Except for Tahiti these islands are small with not a lot of population an infrastructure. I would imagine that tours will fill fairly quickly. My guess for the Hawaii ports is that the tour costs and contracts for the 2024/2025 winter season are not complete. Keep watching.
  6. Each adult is permitted to carry on 1 x 750ml bottle of wine at embarkation for use in the cabin. If this bottle is brought to a public area like a DR it is subject to the $20 corkage fee. Fortified wines are not permitted. Additional bottles may be carried on board and are subject to a $20/bottle corkage fee on boarding. These bottles will be marked and can be used anywhere on the ship. Regarding ports. The rule is any alcoholic beverage carried on at ports will be held and delivered to your cabin on the last evening of the cruise. In actual practice this rule is not consistently enforced. You can't really know in advance if the bottles will be or will not be flagged by security.
  7. Unless things have changed recently cruises booked on board receive the same $100 deposit* and OBC as if they were booked later off ship with a purchased FCD. I don't believe there is any requirement to purchase an actual FCD when booking on board. FCDs when purchase are valid for cruises booked within one year of purchase. Most deposits are refundable according to the schedule in the passenger contract. Some promotions have non refundable deposits. You really have to read the fine print carefully. If purchasing on board you should actually read the fine print and not just take the seller's word for it. If you normally use a T.A. you can assign the onboard booking to that T.A. My personal preference is to purchase as many FCDs as required on board and then take my time researching and booking once home. *World cruise deposits are a percentage of the fare.
  8. Casual Dining is the Salty Dog Gastropub in the Wheelhouse Bar. The Salty Dog Grill is walk up next to the Lido Pool and is no charge except for the Ernesto burger which has a charge. https://www.princess.com/content/dam/princess/onboard-experience/pdfs/Salty-Dog-Menu.pdf.coredownload.inline.pdf https://images.r.cruisecritic.com/pdfs/salty-dog-grill-menu.pdf
  9. " is this 2 casual meals per person" yes it is per person, but currently only two options on the Crown.
  10. Tips are included, generally would not provide a tip as I do not carry cash around with me on board. If I provided a tip it would be cash. Anything added electronically would wind up in the crew appreciation pool and not to the person delivering.
  11. EZ Air is a consolidator. No AA list yet. My guess is that flights booked through consolidators will not earn miles. But, who knows what kind of deals these companies will make with the individual airlines.
  12. Forward elevators to deck 18. See deck plans.
  13. Regarding post #11. The $15 is US$ and would probably be the equivalent in AUS$ on your cruise. The fee is for Ocean Now service and is only charged to those with the standard fare. It is included at no additional charge for those with the plus or premier fares. Ocean Now allows you to order beverages and food items for delivery to your location anywhere on the ship including your cabin. The Crown Princess does not have Alfredo's. Pizza by the slice is available for no charge at Slice by the Lido Pool. Casual Dining on the Crown is limited to The Salty Dog Gastropub in the Wheelhouse Bar (not to be confused with the Salty Dog Grill on the Lido deck) and Vines Wine Bar.
  14. What does best mean? Best odds? While slots can have large payouts they all typically have the highest "win" percentage for the casino. That is why there are so many of them with all the sounds & glitter. They are casino's major money makers and at sea payouts are not controlled. They can be set as desired. Most machines or largest area? It appears to be the new Sun Princess. The Majestic also has a larger casino. Smoke free? None.
  15. Are you in a full suite? If yes, then you are entitled to the special full suite breakfast each morning. On the Crown Princess fairly certain this breakfast is served in Sabatini's. It's one of the better full suite benefits. Reserve class dining is also available for passengers in full suites and reserve class mini suites. On the Crown reserve class is in the DaVinci DR, starboard side, on deck 6 mid ship. One DR is open for breakfast each day and lunch on sea days. Believe it is also the DaVinci DR. All three DRs are open for dinner. On disembarkation day breakfast could be changed to a different DR, probably the deck 6 aft DR. Here is the Princess dining guide https://www.princess.com/content/dam/princess/corporate/pdfs/restaurants-dining-venues-on-board.pdf.coredownload.inline.pdf
  16. While single cabins may save you some money they will not handle the real concerns. The only way to determine if you enjoy cruising alone is to try it. With 30 cruises you know what you enjoy, so just try it. Meet people and just join up. The roll call can be helpful.
  17. In the past you would have to call Princess. They were able to use your OBC to pay for both excursions. Now, with the poor customer service and the poor app I don't know how far you would get, but it's probably worth a try.
  18. The fridge should be empty. If there are any items left over from the previous occupants that the cabin steward did not remove just remind the cabin steward to remove them. If you order any mini bar items for your cabin you will be charged. Mini bar items are not included with the plus or premier fares.
  19. Wifi. $25/day one device unlimited use. 50% discount if you are platinum or elite loyalty level. Daily crew appreciation/pp $18 full suite, $17mini suite, $16 all others Casual dining $14.99 Specialty dining $35, $39 depending on the restaurant. See dining guide below. Ocean Now one time fee $14.99. Covers delivery anywhere on board including your cabin. Without the plus or premier fare there is a $5 charge if you order room service by phone. Non alcoholic beverages such as sodas around $3. Specialty coffees around $4/$5. Coffee is free in the buffet, DR and room service. No charge for ice tea, lemonade. Regular juices are no charge during breakfast hours. Alcoholic beverages range from around $7 for beers $12 for standard cocktails including some back shelf cocktails, around $8 for straight spirits. Some better wines and special whiskeys are over $15. Around 90% of all alcoholic beverages on board are $15 and under. Basically if you consume around 3 alcoholic beverages/pp/day you break even. https://www.princess.com/content/dam/princess/corporate/pdfs/restaurants-dining-venues-on-board.pdf.coredownload.inline.pdf
  20. 1. There are 4 aft elevators. The outer two go up to Skywalkers. The inner two stop at deck 17 by the youth center with stairs that go up to deck 18. 2. My Emerald Caribe deck starboard side cabin had chairs and a footstool. If you don't have a footstool request one from the cabin steward. If they have one they would provide it. 3. Seating around the Terrace Pool is limited thus making the area not as busy as the main pool areas. People do enjoy the Terrace Pool area. It's more peaceful with nice aft views. The Terrace Pool sits halfway between decks 14 & 15. It's up 1/2 flight of stairs from deck 14 aft doors to the pool area and another 1/2 flight to the Outrigger Bar and the Horizon Terrace. The Horizon Terrace has tables. It's one of the outdoor eating areas next to the Horizon Ct. buffet. There are also some lounges along the sides on decks 15 & 16. Regarding Bars. I never really see too many hanging out on the bar stools of the Outrigger Bar. It's not really that type of bar. The bar stools are fixed in place. You can use the Ocean Now App to order a drink from the bar and it will be delivered to you.
  21. Yes. You will have to be able to step on/off the tender which may be moving around. Depending on the tender there may also be a few stairs to the seats. There is staff there to assist you.
  22. USPS will only stop mail for 30 days. If delayed beyond 30 days it is returned to the sender. If you are away longer than 30 days you have to make other arrangements. I have someone in the community who watches my home and picks up the mail for a small cost. Our mail is delivered to a central community mailbox location, not to the home.
  23. I can't think of any issues with C242. Good choice to book a cat BE directly next to cat B2.
  24. 1. You are most likely guest #2 in the cabin and your full passport name is already in the Princess files if you cruised with them before. If your name has changed then you have to notify Princess. The credit card will automatically link you together. 3. Alfredo's, Vines, Salty Dog pop up not to be confused with the Salty Dog grill by the pool. Yes, for lunch & Dinner. See Flyer https://www.princess.com/content/dam/princess/corporate/pdfs/restaurants-dining-venues-on-board.pdf.coredownload.inline.pdf 4. Some believe uncovered is a big time issue. No one is really looking down at you while you are on your balcony. To see down from deck 10 you actually have to walk to the railing an look down. Regarding shade, that is mostly due to the direction of the ship rather than any cover. 5. Two formal nights, educated guess. Oct 14th sailing? 15th or 16th and the 21st. Oct 24th sailing? Oct 26th, Nov 1st. This information is not known until the last week before the cruise and maybe even when you board. 6. You can enter the anniversary date in their booking in the Princess special events information section. There might be a decoration placed on their door. In the DR just mention it to the head waiter. Probably will receive a small cake and maybe some bad singing by the wait staff. There is a vow renewal ceremony offered for a fairly high price if they are into that. Remember to ask them, they may not enjoy the attention. I know I do not enjoy it.
