  1. $14.99 for the 3 course meal. Believe there is an 18% service charge added.
  2. Quebec City to Boston is an A+ itinerary. All nice ports. If you have time I would plan on arriving early before the cruise and remaining after for a few days in Boston. Montreal is a good place to stop and spend a few days. Then take the 3 hour train to Quebec. Quebec City is another great location. You have the upper and lower old towns, the historic fort, the Plains of Abraham, nice restaurants. It’s just nice. Saguenay is a small town off the St. Lawrence River. The ship docks a distance from the actual town. We took a shuttle over to the town and walked around. Charlottetown, PEI. The ship docks right in town. We just walked around. Sydney, NS. The ship docks close to town. There isn’t very much there. Many took the trip over to Louisbourg NHS on the east coast. I have been there on a land visit. It’s nice. Halifax. The ship docks adjacent to the boardwalk. It’s a nice waterfront boardwalk which stretches about a mile, and don’t miss the back street. There are also lots of nice trips. If you take a trip leave time to explore the waterfront. St. John NB. I have been there by car. I’ve also viewed the Minus Basin in the Bay of Fundy when the tidal bore rolled in. I was not impressed. Depending on the tides you might see fishing boats sitting on the mud at low tide and then floating 10 feet above the mud at high tide. Portland, ME. You will clear US Immigration/Customs here. The lobster restaurant near the ship was crowded with ship passengers. There are lots of the normal stores for both locals and tourists. I did not venture out with any tour. Boston, MA. Think The Freedom Trail and all those historic sites. Worth at least one overnight.
  3. Was never this way before Princess decided to change to a very bug infested app. Now not isolated. I use a Travel Agent. Much easier.
  4. I have seen many super bowls on board Princess ships. There are two types of ads, national and local. I have seen the national ads. The local ads are not shown the screen is usually a wide shot of the playing field.
  5. Traveling from the Pacific to the Atlantic in total is an eastbound trip, but the canal portion is northbound from southeast to northwest. When you exit the canal on the Atlantic side you are actually north and west of where you entered on the Pacific side.
  6. I did this. Those two areas were open for the transit. I can't answer about 24/7. I didn't try. I can tell you that these areas are narrow, standing only and were not crowded when I was there. What happens on one cruise may not happen on another. You just have to ask or try once on board. The most crowded area was the deck on top of the bridge.
  7. There should be openings once on board. Call the dine line on boarding day. There probably will also be openings the evening of boarding day. You could book Sabatini's . Once on board you could cancel if you manage to book the Crown Grill, or try both.
  8. For pre-cruise excursions your credit card is charged at the time of booking. The amount is refundable if you cancel within the allowed cancellation period. Any OBC in your account at the time of booking can be used for pre-booking excursions. For specialty dining your credit card is charged at the time of booking. OBC is not an option for pre-booked dining. There is a cancellation period for a refund, not certain regarding the timing. For included specialty dining provided with full suites or the premier fare it has been reported that you can receive a credit once on board.
  9. Let's try to do the math. Assume $2,100 less is a total for two. If you keep the current fare you will be trading $2,100 cash for $2,300 non refundable OBC a difference of $200. Upgrade to the Premier fare will be 14 days on board x $20/ per person = $560 total. You will then have to pay for everything else on board, any pre-booked or booked on board port tours from your credit card. If you keep the current fare you would have $1,740 to use for these purposes. Regarding the casino. You can charge casino play to your on board account. The amount(s) are added to the account and net against any debit or credit (OBC) balance. The key word here is play. You can not just charge an amount to your on board account play a few pulls on a slot and then cash out. If you do this your casino account will be locked. You have to really play win or lose. It's the same at the tables. You really have to play some before cashing out your chips. Figure on maybe a 30% to 40% lose against the initial OBC. $1,000 may yield you $600 at cash out. Of course this is very flexible. I've done this on both slots and table games. There have been times I disembarked with more cash than the OBC I started with. But most times it's less than the OBC. It's still a win. What's the math. If you start with $1,740 OBC after the upgrade to premier, and you wager all of that in the casino you may walk away with around $1,200 to $1,300 cash. The difference is now somewhere in the $400 to $500 range well down from the original $2,300. It's your call and you can calculate your math. For me I would 100% keep the $2,300 if I were booking Princess port tours. If I booked no Princess port tours I would still keep the OBC, do the casino thing, have some casino enjoyment, and probably walk away with some cash at the end.
  10. The website program uses guidelines mentioned on the Princess website. For a 7am arrival the guideline is 6 hours which is 1pm. Your flight is 12:40, just short of the 6 hours. Ignore placing the information into the program. If you are booked for a Princess transfer visit passenger services once on board and make certain your transfer is one of the early ones. Allow about 1 1/2 hours on the road. If you are taking a private transfer then just figure out what time you need to disembark. You probably need to be on board a transfer around 8:30am. Here is the text. Anchorage Embarking Passengers For voyages departing Whittier, the latest flight arrival into Anchorage is 5 hours prior to ship's departure. Disembarking Passengers For voyages arriving in Whittier at 12:30 am, the earliest flight departure from Anchorage is 10 hours and 30 minutes after ship's arrival. For voyages arriving in Whittier at 5:00 am, the earliest flight departure from Anchorage is 8 hours and 50 minutes after ship's arrival. For voyages arriving in Whittier at 7:00 am, the earliest flight departure from Anchorage is 6 hours and 30 minutes after ship's arrival. For passengers on the Scenic Rail transfer, the earliest flight departure from Anchorage is 1:00 pm.
  11. Fairly certain those deck 8 doors are entry into crew quarters. There will be some daytime pedestrian traffic passing by the window on the deck 8 promenade. The deck 8 promenade is closed off after dark and in rough seas. The area on deck 7 just below will have anchor storage and its operating machinery. Noisy if there is a tender port. You will also hear the forward thrusters when in use. Being that far forward you will hear and maybe feel the sea against the hull. The rougher the sea the more noise. In rough water forward cabins move more then those closer to mid ship. Fairly certain that there is no passenger access to the deck 8 forward promenade from deck 8. You have to enter from deck 7 and climb up the stairs. There is no seating on this forward section of the promenade.
  12. My advice for what it may be worth is that if you are in the blue lane just pick up your medallion at the pier. It's takes a very short time maybe 5 10 minutes. What other questions do you have. You will probably receive better answers. Princess is in the customer satisfaction business, both pre-cruise and on board. They really need to get their act together, probably need to replace their current leader.
  13. The sanctuary has a defined number of lounges. When one goes there to reserve a lounge they select a lounge and that is theirs. Once all the lounges are reserved and paid for that's it. Tipping will have no effect. The Sanctuary is busy in the tropics. Not so busy in the cooler weather of northern Europe. Chance you will be able to book if you wish upon boarding. If you are unable to reserve a sanctuary lounger then there is are other options for lounging, Lounging around the pool and the deck above. Comfortable chairs are also around the pool as well as on the Horizon Terrace aft. Beverages & food items can be ordered to your location using the Ocean Now app. If you have a balcony cabin you can also sit there.
  14. 4) On the Lido Deck. The buffet called World Market Place is very large with lots of selections. I enjoyed getting some food and heading to the aft terrace for dining and views. The grill with burgers, chicken dogs, fries and maybe some other selections I forgot. Pizza by the slice is available at Prego's. There is also Swirls where you can pick up a soft ice cream snack. On deck 5 There is the International Cafe with paninis, salads, desserts and some other items. There is one DR open for lunch from noon until 1:30. Not certain which one on the Royal Princess. Alfredo's on deck 6 mid ship serves individual pizza and other menu items. It's one of the casual dining locations.
  15. When I did an Australia cruisetour a number of years ago the tour guide met us in the hotel the evening before the tour began and provided us with introductions and information about the tour. I think there might have been a few snacks.
  16. A regular 1 device plan allows you to be logged into one device at a time. For example. A person my have both a phone and a tablet. They can use either, but only one at a time. You have to log out on say your phone before you can log in on the tablet.. A 4 device plan allows you to be logged into 4 different devices at the same time. If you are purchasing the plus or premier fares then they come with unlimited internet for one device. If you are purchasing the standard fares then perhaps purchasing a single 4 device plan would be a benefit. I don't know too much about teens use of the internet, but kind of feel that they can get by with using one device at a time. I also don't believe that the Premier fare would be a good value for two teens. I don't think they would be interested in or could use the extra benefits. The plus fare is probably a better value. Maybe "Steelers" can provide some insight.
  17. The itinerary looks ok. A lot depends on the teens themselves. Agree with post #2. that each of them should have an unlimited wifi internet package. You should remind them to turn their phones on airplane mode and to not use cell service. Cell service will result in exceptionally high billings from their cell provider. A 4 device package may be the way to go you would have to do the math. The ship will have a youth center with activities for teens and there probably will be other teens there to meet. There will be some organized teen activities which they may or may not be interested in. Of course at their age they can come to almost any activity and view or possibly participate. How many youth in total on board is difficult to determine. Many parents select Alaska for family cruises at this time of year. It will be very hot at the end of May with strong sun directly overhead. There will be beach stops. Roatan has a private beach right at the port. Costa Maya also offers a beach opportunity.
  18. If whale watching is a priority then search for the whale season. I think it's January through March.
  19. One thing about time on a cruise. If you use your phone for the time set the clock on manual and change it according to any instructions received in your cabin.
  20. If you are trying to book a private tour figure around 30 to 45 minutes after the docking time assuming this is not a tender port. The private tour guide will know. Tender ports could take hours to reach shoreside. Latest return to the ship is normally 30 minutes before sailing. There is a sign at the gangplank which shows the latest all aboard time. Don't miss reading it. I have witnessed people running down the pier while the gang planks are being stored, or the ship is moving away from the pier.
  21. This is an old thread. But, it's not confusing at all. By law, a very old law, a passenger is not permitted to embark a foreign flag vessel at one U.S. port and disembark at a different U.S. port unless the ship visits a 'distant' foreign port. Distant foreign port is defined in the law. The closest distant foreign ports to North America a ports in South America and Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. It's difficult to follow all the ports, embarkation and disembarks in post #10. But I believe that this poster disembarked in Quebec stayed overnight and then embarked again making this portion of the trip one way from a foreign port to a U.S. port Quebec to Ft. Lauderdale. Then all the Caribbean trips were RT Ft. Lauderdale.
  22. If you have the plus or premium fare room service is included. No extra one time $14.99 fee. The $5/call room service fee is also included in these fares. These charges are extra if you have the standard fare. These fees or waiver of fees are related to the fare. They are not related to the cabin category such as full suites.
  23. This has been my experience if you will exchange some of the mini bar items. For the 2nd & 3rd legs call room service the day before the last day of each segment. Describe how you want the mini bar configured for delivery. It has worked for me in the past. Sometimes I received the mini bar shortly after the call. It saves them a little work on turn around day.
  24. You can try the USPS address, it may work or it may eventually be forwarded to stockperks. If you don't have the app or do not wish to use the app you can use email. Send the email to hello@stockperks.com. Include all the the required information, name, ship, booking number(s), date of sailing. Attach a redacted copy of your stock statement showing ownership of the Carnival stock as well as the financial company's name and your name. Mention you do not have access to the app of something like that.
