  1. Not exactly. If you are a family group traveling with a legal guardian then the 17 & 15 year old's can be booked into a separate cabin. The two adults can also be in a separate cabin. The two adults can get the plus or premier package and the youth could get the standard package. If you booked one adult and one youth in two separate cabins then both the adult and the youth would have to get the plus or premier package if the adult got it. But note. If one of the youths is not travelling with a legal guardian then there must be one adult booked into each cabin. You can change around once on board, but I don't know you will be able to change the packages around. With the plus fare the youths would get the non alcoholic package. But with the way youth use wifi it may be the way to go. You have to do the math. For family groups booking multiple staterooms, the minimum age for at least one person in each stateroom is 16 years of age, provided they are traveling with a parent or legal guardian.
  2. I think you mean having the medallion mailed to you, not a boarding pass. I'm blue lane for my upcoming cruise. I think it's the Radiqual issue also. I will pick up the medallion at the pier. I do not feel comfortable providing credit card information to this company. I also think it's very invasive for Princess to request this type of information without having the ability to opt out. I have no intention of shore shopping on any cruise except for maybe a T shirt or cap from one of the kiosks around the piers or maybe a drink at a local street side pub/restaurant.
  3. US Port? The cruise ship is required to provide a passenger manifest to the authorities no later than 60 minutes before sailing. Princess asks passengers to arrive no later than 90 minutes before sailing. AT other ports, like Vancouver, the timing may be a little different. Normally boarding begins around 10:30/11:00am. Passengers are lined up waiting to board. People like to be on board for the Main Dining Room embarkation lunch which is generally from noon to 1:30. Departing. Again what port? Princess has guidelines for each port. It would be better if you advise the ship, date and ports.
  4. Don't worry about the OBC. Your on board account will state if it is refundable. It's very easy. $125 is not a large amount. One excursion will mostly use it up. #0 minutes on a slot or table game will use it up and you could wind up with more then you started with.
  5. Princess does have a Zero Alcohol Package. The cost is $35.39/day. You would have to drink a lot of coffee, soda and water to break even. I haven't done the math, but really think that the plus fare in total would be a better value. https://www.princess.com/en-us/ships-and-experience/onboard-experience/food-and-dining/beverages/zero-alcohol-package-terms-and-conditions
  6. No, Same day only. There will be a notice in the events listing of where you need to go for your tender ticket, which Princess calls water shuttle. If you want to be one of the first off the ship your entire party all together goes there and gets in line. First in line receive the earliest number tickets. The first tenders are used for those on early ship tours. Elites and full suite passengers also receive priority tendering which is mixed in with others. At some point in the morning there will be an announcement that tender tickets are no longer required and you can just report to the pontoon. That point may be two to three hours after arrival.
  7. I believe in your case the EZ Air protection will not work. The cruise is RT San Francisco. The first port of call is Santa Barbara nd actually all the ports are U.S. ports except the last one in Mexico, a near foreign port. It's a PVSA violation to board at Santa Barbara and disembark in San Francisco. You would not be able to board until the ship docks in Ensenada. You should fly in a day early.
  8. With a quick search I found Princess' wine list posted November 2023. It should give you an idea of what they carry. Not all ships have the same selections. https://static1.squarespace.com/static/617ac6f28abd337ac8fc5f75/t/6553df1d07f4fa393b8504eb/1699995421843/Princess+Cruises+Wine+Menu.pdf
  9. The medallion itself is has no features. It's just an RFD device with a code that identifies you. It's not that much different then the previous cruise card. When you approach your cabin the door will unlock. All the detailed data that you previously entered pre-cruise can now be entered on the app. There is also a web version. There are all kinds of on board features that you can choose to use or not to use. You can choose to carry your phone or smart device around with you or leave it in the cabin safe, it's up to you.
  10. You won't have any difficulty. 95% sure that the two ships will be at different piers, RCI at Crown Bay and Emerald at Havensight. It is easier to walk into town from Havensight. I mostly do that. ST. Thomas frequently has lots and lots of cruise ships. They can handle it. In St. Maarten the ships will be in the same pier area.
  11. Very few youth on 10 day cruises. They usually don't get that long off from school.
  12. Previous port is a US port? Then no immigration. if that's the situation maybe 30 minutes after docking.
  13. Yes. $15 one time charge to use ocean now. I don't think it's optional. You can have ocean now to deliver yo your cabin. $5 for any room service over the phone. These charges are included in the plus and premier fares. Cabin category and loyalty have.no meaning for these charges.
  14. I agree with this if it is still possible at this late date.
  15. This is what it says on their web site. Don't know if it's totally accurate. Los Angeles Airport Marriott This hotel near LAX offers a complimentary shuttle service to the airport, less than 1.5 miles away. Other nearby points of interest close to the hotel include the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Manhattan Beach, Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica and a variety of shopping and dining. Amenities include a resort-style pool, a 24-hour gym and fantastic on-site dining.
  16. Fairly certain it's this way. If the cruise you booked has a refundable deposit you can cancel at any time prior to the 90 day period in the passage contract and you will get the deposit back. If your booking has a non refundable deposit you lose it.
  17. When you arrive ask around where the Princess representatives will be on the following day. They will be somewhere in the luggage areas. Are you staying overnight at the same hotel Princess uses for their hotel packages. If so then there would be a Princess rep at the hotel.
  18. Boarding begins around 10:30 or 11am. Believe your cruise probably sails at 3pm. The cruise line is required to submit a passenger manifest to the authorities 60 minutes before they sail. You must be checked in before that time. It is recommended that you arrive no later than 90 minutes before sailing. Many passengers arrive at the pier early, maybe 9:30 or so and wait.
  19. Here is some extra information Reserve Class Dining is only available to passengers that are booked in Reserve Class mini suites or full suites. No one else. The Crown Grill is specialty Dining. If you have the Premier Fare Package you are able to dine there twice without additional charge. Without the package you will be charged, I think it's $46 but not certain. The International Cafe has pastries in the morning. From lunchtime onwards it has a selection of sandwiches, I think some salads, cookies and some other items. It's all at no extra charge. Late night they have some platters of fruit, cheese, things like that. It's open 24 hours. They also have some specialty desserts. Plus fare you get 2/day. With the Premium fare they are unlimited. Standard fare there is a $12 charge. They are very goppy looking, not to my taste. TSE. Is this the sail away? Any upper deck. There will be a deck party at the main LIDO Pool and the deck above. There is lots of space up there. Another popular is the Terrace Pool area all the way aft on the Lido deck. The Emerald has a larger library then the newer ships. In what seems like the distant past passengers would come on board with paperback books and leave them, exchange them and so on. Now most people have electronic books.
  20. Not the way it works. Once an FCD is used as a deposit it becomes cash. If the cruise is cancelled the FCD is deposited into each individual's Princess account. Yes, each person will have their own account. Once the one year time limit expires Princess arranges through a third party to send a check to the individual. If you want the money back you will have to have to get the cash from the individuals involved.
  21. I have never received any bothersome emails or phone calls on my current bookings. I have 2 bookings b2b for Feb/Mar 2024 and 4 b2bs starting January 2025 that I originally booked in June 2024 through a T.A. The T.A. is close by. I sat next to her while she was on the phone with Princess. She was able to get right through and was speaking with someone in the U.S. There were some questions back and forth which I was able to answer. The entire process was efficient and I have a bunch of OBC. Second part of the story. The cost in total of the 4 b2bs went down $5,600. Again I visited her. She got on the phone and all four bookings were re-fared with no loss of OBC. I have no first hand direct with Princess experience, but I am satisfied with using the T.A. I will mention that I did my own homework first. I knew what I wanted and the cost before I visited her. The T.A. I'm using is also new for me. I had used the same T.A. since the 90s. But sadly that T.A. got very ill and had to give it up.
  22. Warm weather? There is a youth water park, activity area on the upper deck. Take a look.
  23. It's summer. Mostly summer clothing. You will require long pants, cover ups like a hoodie sweatshirt, rain jacket, maybe an umbrella if you use one. The maritime Provinces can be cool on the water.
  24. One additional bit of information. many 18 to 21 day cruises are really 2 or 3 cruises b2b. If so the voyage is probably offered as a single booking. It may also be offered as two or three separate cruises. Check pricing, OBC and benefits both ways as a single booking or as separate bookings. No matter how booked on board you will have a single roll account. Any + charges will be charged to your credit card on disembarkation day.
