  1. You can trade for all sodas or waters, or combination of the two or one bottle of wine. You can provide all or parts to friends you meet on board. You can trade for a bottle of wine and then offer that wine to the cabin steward as a gift. You can ask the cabin steward to remove all of the mini bar. These are some suggestions. You can not receive OBC, nor can you receive a specialty dinner for the mini bar. Those options do not exist.
  2. Power strips with a surge protector are not permitted. They interrupt the ship's power system. A ship's power system has some differences to land based systems. Power strips or extensions without a surge protector are permitted.
  3. Casual Dining. These are 3 course meals with casual fare. Some locations are open all day like Gigi's (Alfredos), others may open for lunch and all are open for dinner. They are all walk in. The Discovery Gigi's (same as Alfredo's different name). Individual pizzas and other menu items. Ocean Terrace Seafood Bar Salty Dog Gastropub, not to be confused with the Salty Dog Grill by the pool. Salty Dog grill is no charge. Majestic Alfredo's Vines which serves plates of veggies and cured meats. The Majestic was built originally for the Asia market. It's lacking some of the venues that are on other Princess ships. But it does have an indoor pool and forward facing lounge. If you have the standard fare there is a one time delivery fee of $15 which allows you to order items from your smart device or cabin TV for delivery anywhere on the ship. Delivery does take some time. With the plu or premier fare you can also call room service to order. Without one of these fares telephoning room service will cost you $5 per order. For breakfast there are door hang tags with cont. items, coffee, tea and so. This is free.
  4. Read the daily activities. Attend things that interest you. If you like trivia go to the 1st trivia sessions and 'join' a team. These team groups tend to remain together throughout the cruise. Avoid activities that are really sales pitches, normally run by the shops on board or the spa. Schedule time(s) each day to be with your sons, maybe dinner, pre dinner drinks, a specialty dinning experience. Your sons will probably be hanging around the pool decks on sea days. You can use the medallion to locate them. Join your son(s) at their activities. I looked up the Regal sailings for February. They are a week long. You will be fine and will enjoy yourself.
  5. One thought that is at least worth a try. Work with a T.A. See if they are able to book a reserve class mini for 3 and arrange for a roll away for the forth person. Have no idea if this would work or even be considered, but it might be worth a try. The most important benefit of reserve class is the dining, especially the evening meal. It's walk in and prompt seating. Is it important for the 3rd & 4th occupant to have this? Plus package is a nice value. The 1st two passengers in the cabin are required to have this fare. It's optional for passengers 3 & 4. If passengers 3 & 4 are minors you would have to do the math to see if it is worth it for unlimited non alcoholic beverages and the few other benefits. You can purchase packages, but you can not purchase benefits. You may receive an offer to bid on an upgrade. Priority embarkation isn't a really big deal. With the medallion information all in place boarding is fairly easy. There really isn't priority disembarkation. You request a time necessary to meet your flight and you get it. Or you can take early walk off. Basically you get to disembark when you need to.
  6. If you purchase one of the plus or premier fares it includes the gratuity. You can not remove it. If you purchase the standard fare then you are charged for the daily gratuity and it can be removed by visiting passenger services.
  7. I looked up your itinerary. It's a very nice one and you should have lots of great memories. I have been on many cruises. They all seem the same after a while. But this itinerary still stands out. The scenery and views are spectacular. Now to your question. Book tours early on. They fill up on this itinerary. When I did this itinerary we did some ship's tours and also took some private tours arranged via the roll call. Flaam is at the end of a very long and scenic fjord. The sail out is beautiful and happens around early dinner time. I skipped DR dinner that evening and sat on deck. The full sail out takes around 3 hours. The most scenic portion is between the first 1 1/2 to 2 hours. By the way, you can cancel booked tours within the cancellation time noted.
  8. Remember that the breakfast door hanger is no charge.
  9. When you board the OBC will be a credit in your on board account(s). Each day the daily gratuity and any other on board charges will post to your on board accounts. The account will have a running net balance. Once the credit amount is used up the accounts will move into plus territory. So yes, OBC can and is used to pay the daily gratuity as well as any other on board expenses until it is gone. It's automatic.
  10. Let me understand. You are going on a cruise in a month, cruise #1. On that cruise you will purchase Future Cruise Deposits (FCDs). Right now there is a cruise you wish or have booked, cruise #2, that sails after you disembark cruise #1. You have booked this cruise and placed a deposit for it. After you disembark cruise #1 you wish to apply the FCDs purchased on board that cruise to cruise #2. The way you explain it you can apply the FCDs to cruise #2, BUT you will not receive the OBC. In effect you will just be increasing your deposit amount. In order to be eligible for the $100 deposit and the associated OBC you would have to cancel the the booking for cruise #2 and re-book using the FCDs. You would have to do the math to see if it is worth it. Another option is speak with the cruise consultant on board cruise #1. He/she may be able to do something.
  11. Probably will be availability. Usually b2b passengers are allowed to book the sanctuary on the day before turn around day. Even if they were not allowed they would be the first ones on board. Princess offers many cruises as b2bs under a single booking number. Expect 5 to 600 doing the turn around. Even when not offered under one booking number there are still lots of b2b'ers. I do 2,3,4 of them all the time as separate booking numbers.
  12. I believe the Enchanted is sailing 10 day voyages. I would select a 10 day voyage over a 7 day. Enchanted has a better selection of dining options and the buffet area is really nice. You indicated your Dad is in a Wheelchair. Please note that on both ships the cabin doors for standard cabins are 22 inches wide. Standard cabins on both ships have a step up to get into the bathroom and a step over to get into the shower. Mini suites have a bathtub/shower combo where you have to step over the tub side to enter. 10 day cruises typically do not have many youth. During the school year 7 day cruises also do not have many youth unless it is a holiday week. The Caribbean also has a top deck pool, and water park feature for kids and family. This will attract more children. HCP cabins are accessible, wider doors and easy showers.
  13. Princess never assists in obtaining legal entry documents for countries. They clearly indicate it is up to the passenger to have all the proper documentation. Remember that not everyone on board will be U.S. citizens with U.S. passports. Visa requirement can be different depending on which passport you hold. From post no. 2 it seems fairly straight forward to apply for an evisa. Much simpler then when I had to get a Brazil visa. I needed to use a company to assist. At that time the visa was an actual page in my passport with photo and all kinds of information. When I visited Brazil a 2nd time I had to carry my expired passport with the valid Brazil Visa and my active passport. This evisa seems very much easier.

    Liquor

Mention what brand you are looking for and maybe someone will be able to respond. I can generalize that most straight spirits and liqueurs are covered under the plus fare. It's also possible that inventories may not be exactly the same on all ships and itineraries.
  15. The other solution is for Princess to require a change in the process to protect their customers.
  16. The concept was that when you entered the cabin you placed the cruise card into the slot and the lights would come on. When you exited the cabin you removed the card to take with you and the lights went off. You could get back into the cabin since you had the cruise card with you. The concept was flawed from the beginning. I was on the Royal during it's first year. I read about the issues and brought along an old cruise card to place in the slot and leave it there.
  17. I have been on this itinerary. No special vaccinations were required for the ports listed.
  18. My opinion. Plus package is a fare package. As such it would be covered the same as any other fare upon cancellation. If you upgrade to the plus fare on board then if you have to cancel the extra amount for plus would have never been paid.
  19. I think, not certain, that it's a special location called the Signature Sun Deck on deck 18 aft. It's next to the Sanctuary.
  20. Pretty sure the card slot system activated the lights, but the electrical outlets remained active. If the system is on your ship just test the outlets.
  21. Fairly certain the $63 is the cost in Australian $ when the ship sails in the Australian market. In Australia believe that prices quoted include the service charge. Not certain but believe the current cost in the U.S. market is US$39 + 18% service charge, or $46.02 The $63 you found is related to the previous cost of US$35 +18%=Approx US$42 which is around AU$63.
  22. Go to the Sun Princess deck plans on the Princess web site. Select your mini suite. In red print it will indicate the location of the beds and sofa
  23. This is a photo of Royal and Grand Class mini suites. Sun Princess cabins are different.
  24. It's different on different ships and itineraries. Example on Hawaii cruises the casino is closed while the ship is in Hawaiian waters. There are a number of live threads from different sailings on these boards. They have photos of the daily events and venue operation hours on the last page. The International Cafe is open 24/7. The nightclub (if there is one) should have late hours as should the casino bar. Crooner's or similar lounge should be open for some time after midnight. Believe room service and Ocean Now is 24 hour service. Ocean Now is delivered to anywhere to your location.
