  1. I would not expect very much. On the Princess website, log in and you can check your travel summary and under the payment tab any credits. This should provide you with some information.
  2. If you decide on two cabins note this restriction in the passage contract. "For family groups booking multiple staterooms, the minimum age for at least one person in each stateroom is 16 years of age, provided they are traveling with a parent or legal guardian." It is common for one adult to be booked in each cabin. Many times this provides additional benefits. Once on board they switch cabins as they require.
  3. There are many reasons for upgrades. I have encountered passengers that have been upgraded because they are new Princess customers, some that were moved to an upgraded cabin because Princess needed their original cabin for some reason. I'm sure there are many additional reasons.
  4. You have to wait until the cruise is available for booking. Then you have to book as quickly as possible to try to obtain the same cabin. Your two bookings then have to be linked. A T.A. should be able to handle this for you. If the cabin you want is already taken, then moving isn't a big issue.
  5. All port and starboard balcony cabins on deck 10, Caribe Deck, have 9ft x 9ft balconies with 5ft of cover from deck 11 and 4ft uncovered. The balcony has two chairs and a small table. The interiors are the same as other balcony category cabins on the ship.
  6. If your itinerary does not show water shuttle then there isn't any. Here is an example of the text water shuttle will be used. Grand Cayman, Cayman IslandsView excursions in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands on Friday, March 1st 2024 ( Water Shuttle Required, Wheelchair Access Limited )
  7. Have the bookings marked "no upgrade." It has always worked for us.
  8. Both plus and premier fares include gratuities for the first two passengers. If you purchase a plus or premier fare for passengers 3 & 4 as minors they would receive a non alcoholic beverage package, wifi and gratuities. If you purchase a no frills fare for passengers 3 & 4 then their on board accounts will be charged $17/pp/day.
  9. It will be clearly stated on the itinerary. Princess' new term is "Water Shuttle."
  10. Thinking you are sailing this fall RT Brooklyn. If so then probably the two days where the ship sails earlier than other days. Newport (sails 5pm), St. John (sails 4pm). It will never be the first or last evening of the cruise.
  11. As far as I am aware no weight limit at US ports.
  12. You can bring onto a Princess ship as many suitcases that you wish. There is no published number, size or weight limit. If you are referring to airlines then search your airline's site for baggage rules and cost. Princess (EZ Air) does not control airline baggage rules.
  13. $24.50/pp/day Mixed drinks such as a margarita are around $10/$11. Wines maybe $12 & up. For wines or any drink over the $15 plus limit you are charged the difference plus 18%. Not many drinks are over $15. Beers maybe $5/6. Espresso drinks in the $5 range. Sodas $2/3. Juices? It does not take much to reach $24.50/pp. To me it is comfortable to know that I can order just about anything I want and don't have to worry about it. Maybe I'm paying for comfort rather than working it out to the nearest dollar. If you have lots of OBC no frills or purchasing on board on the 1st day may be the way to go. Just thought I would add. As a new Princess customer I would like to mention that OBC is available to active and military vets through the military benefit. OBC is also available to Carnival shareholders that hold a minimum of 100 shares in any account. You can look up these benefits on line.
  14. I would not call it a big deal. It is comfortable to know that you can board a tender fairly quickly and not have to wait in an early morning long que. The ticket procedure is usually abandoned by late morning. At that time everyone can just report to the pontoon.
  15. Are you saying there is no longer any priority tender service for elites, and that elites now have to wait in the full que? Pre-covid we never really "joined the line." Depending on the ship we had two different experiences. 1) went to the normal tender ticket location and were placed in a priority line which received priority, but maybe not immediate boarding. 2) Went to a separate location and waited for the staff member to release us to the tender. Again depending on the number of people there we could wait for a short time.
  16. Do you have a Princess pre-cruise hotel package? If yes, then the transfer to the hotel and hotel to the pier is included. If you booked your own hotel it is best to just use Uber/Lyft or a taxi. Hotels in Ft. Lauderdale are fairly close to the airport. I'm not really sure if you can even book a Princess transfer if you booked your own hotel. Also, Princess charges per person which usually turns out to be more than just getting your own transfer. Uber/Lyft/Taxis charge by the trip.
  17. You can not use the Princess transfer. Princess transfers are from the airport to the pier. I would try to cancel the transfer. The hotels I have stayed at in San Pedro all have shuttles to the ship. Regarding San Pedro. San Pedro is within the Los Angles city limits and is the port of Los Angeles. It is around a 45 minute drive from LAX without traffic delays.
  18. There is a 30 day gap in the Ruby's schedule from Feb 8, 2024 until Mar 9, 2024. She is scheduled for a 10 day partial PC transit on Jan 29th until February 8th. The next posted sailing is a March 9th Circle the Caribbean. Both these sailings are from Ft. Lauderdale. Certainly looks like a dry/wet dock with some major repairs, most likely in the Bahamas.
  19. From reviewing the deck plans D405 is covered by C405 directly above. It is a 9ft x 4ft balcony.
  20. Different ship designs. A few of the differences. No International Cafe. No aft lounge. The lounge in that area was removed with cabins added. Island has a narrower old Panamax size beam. 1,000 less passengers on the Island. Buffet is up front. Only two MDRs. Island has an indoor pool. You can compare the deck plans at Princess.com.
  21. I haven't checked other cruise line fares, but believe use of the medallion instead of a cruise card, medallion experience, does not increase fares. Speaking about the plus fares then you have to do the math. Included are crew grats and wifi (internet). This amounts to $26 to $28 pp/day. That leaves a plus fare difference of around $40/pp/day for both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages pp/day, About 4 martinis or a combo of a few alcoholic beverages, some expresso drinks, sodas and other items included in the package.
  22. On warm days, the promenade deck. Your first two to three days in route to Hawaii probably will not be warm. Pack layered clothing. Another popular location for siting & reading is the seating just outside Explorer's Lounge adjacent to the windows. This area does fill up.
  23. Free minutes are gone. The plus & premier fares include unlimited internet* as well as the daily gratuities and a drink package. If you have the no frills fare you will have to purchase internet service. *Princess calls internet service wifi. In reality wifi is free and you can connect to any onboard activity such as booking dining, ordering food or beverage and other things. It is the internet connection that has cost. If purchasing internet you might want to consider if you require one or more connections.
  24. Post #4 is a photo on a Royal Class ship. The Caribbean Princess balcony category cabin does not have the small foot rest shown in the lower left and does not have a hand held shower head. I have found Caribbean Princess & other Grand Class ship's showers to be functional. You should get along fine. There are also two wall hung pump containers in the shower. One contains shampoo/conditioner combo and the other soap. This is the same on all Princess ships. If you require special shampoo & conditioner you should bring it with you. We often bring along some bar soap. There are three small corner shelves by the sink which can hold tooth paste & brush, mouth wash, shave cream and other items.
  25. Here are the benefits. They don't amount to much. https://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/cc/captains-circle-loyalty-benefits.pdf
