  1. I notice the passenger number is almost 400 less than full capacity (assume not many 3 & 4 passenger cabins filled). Will be interesting to see how that compares with the count once in the Carribean.
  2. Thanks! So that is just a "place-holder" to indicate that he is eligible for it, if I understand that correctly. We booked these as two 10-day (added the 2nd one later), but will take the $100 for each.
  3. Now that final payment has been made for our February B2Bs, I logged into my husband's account. On the "My Princess" Home page, it shows a $50 OBC, which under "details" lists it as Military credit. However, in the payments section for both cruises, he has a $100 credit, which he has always gotten before. So is the $50 and additional credit, or just another Princess accounting snafu?
  4. Which port are you flying to? For some, like Ft. Lauderdale, it's just easier to catch a cab for the 10 - 15 minute ride and not have to wait for the bus to fill up.
  5. Have you done any Caribbean cruises before? If there are islands you've been to before, you probably have a better idea of what you want to do there -- e.g., just go to a beach rather than a tour. I like to do some kind of tour on a new-to-us island, whether an independent one (your Roll Call is a good place to see if someone has set one up) or through the ship. We haven't gotten to the point where we just stay on the ship in port. As far as Princess Cays, think of it as a beach day, or stay onboard.
  6. Also, what do you like to do? Snorkel, sightsee, hike, distillary tour, shopping? That will help narrow it down. There's a LOT of info on the Ports of Call board for each of the Caribbean ports.
  7. Oh, maybe they allow access when at slow speeds then, too. The one time we were on it was in a port and we were told by the crew that it's locked when at sea.
  8. If I remember correctly, you can only access it while in port, it's locked when at sea.
  9. Thanks, all, for your replies. @skynight this is not a powder but ready to drink in 8-oz plastic bottles.
  10. We went to Divi in 2019 and liked it -- lots of loungers but not right on top of each other (not like at Great Bay by the port). Nice beach with some decent snorkeling. I think we just paid for the chairs and umbrella. I don't remember if we got any food, sorry.
  11. Thanks, @wests5 for asking this. I saw on another thread something about "no bottled drinks," just cans being allowed and was going to ask if folks knew if nutritional drinks (Boost, in our case) were exempt. And if we can bring that on as well as our 2 12-packs of seltzer.
  12. This is from the Payments section of our upcoming February Cruise: Total Onboard Credits $30.00 $130.00 $160.00 Military Benefits* $0.00 $100.00 $100.00 *Please enjoy using these credits onboard as they are not refundable. We never have any problem using the OBC during the cruise...
  13. I thought I had read at one time that the water station in the buffet has the water go through an extra filter. I do notice that there is not the "taste" that the stateroom water (more "chlorine-y") has. We always use a glass to fill our water bottles!
  14. Since you went through Customs in Maine, you wouldn't have to do it again! Our friends said they just collected their bags and went on their way đŸ™‚
  15. Yes, the doors in the hallways are fire doors - they're on all the ships.
  16. As we never see them in their winter feathers, I went more by the shape, and noticed the faint "necklace" they still have. They must be in transition, if you look up loon summer and winter images đŸ™‚
  17. @Ken the cruiser, your photos of NYC are great! Funny, my friend on the ship sent me almost the same sunset and night shots that she took đŸ™‚ I'm not 100% positive but the two birds in the water (from the ferry) look like they could be loons changing into their winter plumage?
  18. You can also take a taxi or Uber/Lyft from the hotel, may be cheaper than a Princess transfer?
  19. We used to always buy 3rd-party travel insurance (and fortunately never had to use it) but with trying to get back into cruising post-pandemic have gone with Princess, mainly for the Cancel for any Reason. We're Platinum, so we get the 100% back. We recently had to use it when we decided to cancel after final payment - we received our FCCs within a couple of days, as well as the amount refunded directly to our Credit Card. I also always book refundable airline tickets -- either cash or credits. Also, with the Princess insurance, you don't have to pay it until final payment (although you may need to check the Pre-existing Conditions section), so if you cancel before then, you're not out the insurance cost. Cancelling after payment, we of course, didn't get it back but wouldn't have with other insurance either.
  20. One more question, is the taxi fare pp or per cab?
  21. @PORT ROYAL looks like that's a "summer special." We'll be going in February, so will just make a reservation if we decide to go there. Thanks!
  22. Is there a charge for lounger use at Catherine's? I looked at their website and couldn't find anything about that, just menus.
  23. @lovecruising10 if you look on the Princess website (click on Help) you will see that the Sales and Support customer service is open on weekends from 11 am to 8 pm (ET).
  24. Also, if you booked through a TA (not through Princess), he or she will have to send the cancellation for you. We did this recently, the cancellation notice was sent either that day or the next to our TA, who forwarded it to me, with the amount Princess refunded posted to our CC that day.
  25. I'm wondering how you could "lock in" a fare without having a specific itinerary or dates -- will it be for "a balcony room on a 7-day on _____Princess"?
