  1. Not really. Royal welcomes families with children. VV wants singles or couples. They don’t promote a family atmosphere. This is from the VV website: "Adult-only voyages. Luxuriously designed." 😉
  2. The crew member on our last X cruise DID ask a question based on the video. I was the only one who gave the correct answer. YMMV. 😉
  3. We've had one cabin with the pole inside and one cabin with the pole outside. No big deal, in our opinion. After all we were on a cruise! 😁
  4. Why do you think age is a factor in their choice of cruise lines? Starting with our very first cruise and continuing to the present, the criteria has always been the same - Quality over Quantity. Once we sailed with X we found that it was the perfect fit for us. YMMV.
  5. Speaking from experience that shouldn’t be a problem. It helps to have the same table and wait staff during the cruise so talk to the Maitre' D on the first day. Your waiter should then let you know what you should be able to eat on each day’s menu. Trust me, they don’t want their guests to have any problems!
  6. True, the menus look better, but Carnival is still CARNIVAL. Not our cup of tea.
  7. No worries. In fact X now calls those cabins Sunset Sky Suites… I call them the triple S's. 😉
  8. I have never submitted a form of any kind for X price drops. Once upon a time I called X direct. Now I call my TA and she does it for me. If X is declining to give you the reduced fare, apparently something is not quite right. IMO, you should call and speak to a X agent as there isn’t anything anyone here can do to fix the problem. Good luck.
  9. Port fees are fees charged by the ports of call to the cruise line (ships don’t get to dock for free) in turn they pass on these fees to the passengers. I would expect that the ports are trying to make up for some of their lost revenue during the Pandemic, so I agree that more of this will be forthcoming.
  10. Oh, you’re not alone. We may have paid for the chocolates but we never eat them. Same with the canapés. They are nice touches, but there is plenty of food to eat on board, we just don’t need them.
  11. @chisoxfan and @zitsky mom says it's time to sit on opposite sides of the room for a time out. 🤦‍♀️
  12. Yes, but for how much longer? Albert Einstein said, “ the definition of insanity was doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”.
  13. Yes, the the staff is getting the ax but Suite guests still have to pay the premium price for reduced service. (Glad you are happy in Aqua!) 👍
  14. And your point is..? Guests can tip anyone they choose. 😎
  15. Quite frankly, I don’t care who delivers it as long as we can receive it. 😊 With the amount of $$$ that Suite Guests are being charged now, (yes I know everyone is now paying more) the least X can do is keep enough staff to take care of all of their guests in the manner they have always done, which in our case has been over the last 20+ years. X's new management seems to have forgotten that Loyalty is a 2 way street.
  16. So basically, if we want breakfast in our Suite, we will just call room service to order?
  17. We had the same experiences in our Aft suites on the Edge. For the bathroom door I placed the bath mat across the threshold which kept it from slamming. For the sliding shelf I used a hand towel. It's a shame X didn’t fix the problem when building Apex. I wonder if it will still be happening on Beyond.
  18. And will they also charge those with allergies who can’t eat the main protein offered on the menu and would normally choose the filet instead?
  19. Unless it's raining we will usually be outside on the RSD. We've enjoyed many cool weather days sitting out there wrapped up in X blankets. 😎
  20. We prefer to sail on Edge class ships now. 💜 They have Retreats.
