  1. As others above have noted you can submit at any time in advance of cruise; no need to wait until a month or two ahead. I submitted request this past July for a cruise in February of 2025, about 20 months ahead of the cruise and got an email back with the approval within 72 hours.
  2. A few miles from the pier, but lovely. Is part of the Parq casino complex and adjacent to stadium where the BC Lions of the CFL play. We were there on the night a game and somewhat noisy. Otherwise highly recommend.
  3. Having just returned from a land trip to Israel, I can tell you that dollars are just fine for tips in Israel...widely accepted and used. I ordered shekels from my bank prior to leaving (Slightly worse exchange rate than ATMs in Israel, but I wanted a few for convenience) but ended up tipping in dollars sometimes and Shekels sometimes, depending on bills I had in my pocket.
  4. Travel date for transatlantic is April 15. Made call about 4 days after earliest possible date ..waited a few days due to overseas travel...wanted to make call from home to assure a good connection. Regent rep was quite courteous..got impression that the 4 day delay made no difference.
  5. First time attempt to do Regent custom air today. Not a particularly happy result. Looking for nonstop air from Barcelona to JFK following April transatlantic. Delta and American fly the NS route. Told no contract with Delta and 800 pp surcharge to fly AA for one way nonstop. (Outbound JFK to MIA in economy was no extra cost, not surprisingly.) Tried alternative of Barcelona nonstop to Newark on United..told no contract..not available. Was offered a decent Swiss Airline connection through Zurich without any surcharge. Might have taken it to save the $1600 surcharge, but decided to take $2900 air credit & go with United Premium Economy NS to Newark on mileage points (just 100,000 miles) and be a little less comfortable. Also able to do JFK to Miami on Delta points..so get $2900 in air credit plus no deviation fee...will forgo Regent air for this trip. Had to pay $75 phone fee to get the information..it is what it is.
  6. I am just ending a cruise on Infinity today and have had exactly the same experience. When Evian water was gone received two or sometimes 3 aluminum bottles every day. Of course with the drink package I can pick up a bottle of water at any bar anytime, if water supplied by room steward was not enough.
  7. In hindsight, I partially agree...sort of an accomplishment, I guess. The tour I took was great in that it was what Celebrity calls a small group tour...25 max. Also we got to Oia early before the crowds. Total of 3 ships totalling just under 8000 passengers in town...so lots of crowding....not unusual for Santorini.
  8. We did the small group tour of Oio and were dropped off for a great included lunch in Fira today. We took the bus up the hill to start the tour but were expected to take the cable car back. Got impatient with long line and did the walk down the 600 or so steps. Rather challenging for my over 70 yo. body including a recent knee replacement. Donkeys and their manure were all over the trail..not a pleasant experience, but certainly memorable. Icing knee this evening!
  9. Just thought I would answer my own question about ease of booking dining reservations using a smart phone. Reservations window opened today for my November cruise. Was able to book them easily using my Android phone. Was worried because I am currently on a Celebrity ship on a sea day in the Eastern Med. Fortunately the ship has installed Starlink internet and it works great for callls, texting and internet...a different world from cruise ship internet of the past. Hopefully Oceania's Starlink will work as well.
  10. Such great pictures and enjoyable narration! I am especially enjoying it since I am also on the cruise. Couple of comments: I am finding the Starlink internet to be very fast and reliable...a different world from cruise ship internet from the past. Also, I am in the Retreat and am finding Luminae service great but both quality and menu choices seem lacking and sometimes just weird. Was excited to see duck on the menu last night. I asked how it was prepared and was told it came in chocolate sauce...No thank you!🙄
  11. We are on Infinity now and just used one of our free bag perks. We travel with a few 13 gallon kitchen white garbage bags and use them so no need to cram it all in one of the small cloth ship provided laundry bags. A full bag is considered 30 items of clothing...no "stuff a bag" challenge like on some cruise lines.
  12. Well, I am also on this Infinity cruise and in the Retreat. I ordered steak in Luninae last night that unfortunately resembled shoe leather. Second try was somewhat better, but still disappointing. Similarly enjoying the cruise...a great day in Dubrovnik.
  13. I will be on a Celebrity cruise, actually, and hear the internet is horrible on the ship. So all I wondering is how easy or difficult is it to make specialty reservations on a smart phone in case I need to resort to that.
  14. Looking for cell phone alternative in case internet is down.
  15. My specialty reservation window for November cruise on Vista opens while I am on another cruise line ship with notoriously unreliable internet. It will be during a sea day. If internet us down, I am wondering if I will be able to make reservations using my smart phone while at sea using Cellular at Sea service. Has anyone had experience using their smart phone rather than computer to make specialty reservations. Any stories of success or difficulty? Thanks.
  16. The trial ended this weekend, so of course the Eclipse and Equinox are returning to past practice of no vaping. This is consistent with what the person who called me from the Executive Offices said. Now they say the results of the trial will be "discussed" and a determination of whether or not to permit vaping in casinos fleet wide will be made. No indication of when that will happen, but the return of no vaping in the short run was expected and is in no way an indication of whether or not it will be allowed in the future.
  17. So question is are the old no vaping or smoking policies back in place for all ships while they decide whether they decide to allow vaping fleet wide or have they already decided to not go with allowing vaping based on the test results? Based on the language shared by earlier posters, unfortunately it sounds like they will take just a few weeks to formally announce fleet wide vaping allowed in casinos.
  18. Corporate also confirmed to me in a phone call that if it us implemented it would be a while after trial ends this weekend. However, I will not take any if these assurances as gospel and I would not be at all surprised if it's allowed on my upcoming cruise. I will enjoy my cruise either way.
  19. I would deal with it. It is a very port intensive cruise...likely I will spend less time in the casino than usual anyway. Initially there will likely be little vaping in first few cruises after rule change..will take time for the word to get around.
  20. I have written assurance from the casino department that vaping will not be allowed on my Sept 2 cruise...but, then again, who knows????
  21. "In casinos on itineraries where e-cigarette smoking is allowed, there will be visible signage designating the areas for both vaping and non-vaping guests." I interpret "areas" to mean separate tables. However, I guess it could also be read that vaping and non vaping people will share the same area...but then why would you need signage?
  22. Such BS. If vaping us so harmless and folks do not object, then why do they feel the need to have separate tables for vaping? Having a non smoking (or non vaping) area in a casino is like having a "no peeing" section of a pool!
  23. From the tone of the correspondence above, it looks like they have made up their mind. My upcoming Sept. 2 cruise on Infinity may be my last. Was looking forward to a week on Ascent in February, but looks like that may not happen. I do hope they give adequate notice if vaping is to be permitted, so that folks can vote with their feet and cancel before penalty periods kick in.
  24. Drink package...no. But now wine and beer are included with dinner and nearly all non alcholic drinks (coffees, sodas) are included. If you are a casino player who likes higher limit tables, they are limited to the three larger ships. Four smaller ships have very small casinos.
