  1. It means you keep your current booking...number stays the same..cabin and pricing changed if you choose to do so. Same thing happens if you change your booking to utilize benefits of new post July 1 Simply More program.
  2. We have 3 Oceania cruises booked. Will compare old and new pricing for all 3 of them, obviously. For a 16 night cruise in November, I booked cruise only and have already purchased shore excursions. Wonder if I can get a refund for the payment I have already forked over to Oceania and apply the shore excursion credit if I go with the new Simply More pricing? The attractive feature of Simply More for us is that two wi fi connections are included rather than one per cabin. We both need our own and 16 nights at $30 per day for second wif under old system is a big hit to wallets.

    Casinos gone?

We love love love escaping New York winters in your community and spend many evenings (when not at the McCallum Theatre) enjoying your now non smoking (yea!) casinos.
  4. Have done 7 Oceania cruises and agree with nearly all of the positives others have mentioned compared to Celebrity or other large ship lines. After two cruises on the smaller "R" ships, we now confine ourselves to the larger O and Allura class ones. We have 3 cruises booked on Oceania in the next 13 months for a total of 55 nights...two of these cruises are on Vista. Very excited. Only drawbacks to Oceania for us are very high prices for alcoholic drinks and excursions and the tendency of some cruise directors to yak on and on about activities which cheapens the overall experience a bit. That being said...so many positives like great food and service, beautiful ships. Love especially the spa deck in front of the ship for warm weather cruises and generally quiet, elegant, but not too stuffy atmosphere.
  5. No different than refundable OBC...only the mechanics of payment are less complicated.
  6. My TA offers a rebate check, usually about 8 to 10% of the cruise fare calculated with the air fare removed. Check comes about 3 weeks before embarkation. Much prefer over on board credit.
  7. Try collapsible water bottles: vapur.us.
  8. Thank you, great to hear. I also just looked and saw that United has a very good price on PE nonstop from BCN to New York. Just booked two easily cancelable PE seats for just 50,000 miles each which can be a backup in case Regent cannot find me reasonable flights when my window opens up on Sept. 1.
  9. We have 3 Oceania cruises booked. Have purchased 5 shore excursions for one of them and have no interest in buying any more for that cruise.. If I choose to go with Simply More wonder if I will get my thousand dollar cruise credit applied to excursions I have already paid for?
  10. Later in the summer we have our first opportunity to book Regent air. We live in NY metro area and there are 3 nonstop flights from Barcelona back to NY on the day we disembark. If Regent offers me only connecting flights home unless I pay an upcharge, can I request the alternative of going premium economy as an option to fly nonstop home and possibly avoid the upcharge? Or does Regent Air only allow Business Class bookings for Transoceanic flights?

    Casinos gone?

The exact quote reflects a business decision. I get that. However, the phrasing reflects a certain arrogance which is certainly off putting. As others have mentioned, they could have avoided Thoughtful answer, as usual, Keith. IMHO NC could have kept the casino and largely addressed the “types of casino guests” issue by no longer offering significant numbers of comped cruises or other substantial enticements to high rollers. On the other hand, since the new owners do not AFAIK have an affiliation with a casino hotel/cruise entity, they would likely have had to contract the casino operations out to another company like old Crystal used to do with Caesars. Maybe not worth the cost and operational headaches. Of course other luxury cruise lines which offer a casino already have affiliations with larger casino operations such as Explora with MSC, Regent with NCL, Seabourn with Carnival and now Silversea with RCCL. We now cruise mostly on Regent, Oceania and sometimes Celebrity Retreat class depending on timing and the itinerary. What we do miss from our prior Crystal experiences is (of course), the enrichment and entertainment. However, as marvelous as the service and people were and hopefully will continue to be on Crystal, we have similarly found many outstanding, kind crew members and great service on these other cruise lines. Happy cruising to all! Ed

Sounds like Crystal is rubbing it in by denigrating those of us who enjoy the casino and won't cruise without one. Message of "don't let the door hit you on the way out" clearly received.
  13. We just did the math for next Spring Trans Atl and for us a Superior suite…same size as Concierge, saved us a thousand bucks even with 14 nights worth of $30 per day 2nd Wi-Fi charges. We liked the location of our non Concierge better, did not need free room night before cuz we stay on hotel or time share points, did not need earlier booking window for excursions and dining reservations because we have Silver status and we were told you can buy the extra Wi-Fi connection by the day, so for port days we can choose not to spend the money for the extra connection. BTW word is out that when Oceania announces their new “All In” pricing model in July all cabins will get 2 free Wi-Fi connections.
  14. We will be cruising on another cruise line when our 210 day point comes up for our next Regent cruise. Would rather just submit my request in writing and hopefully have an answer and ability to respond on line before I return home a few weeks later. Does anyone know what the process is if i want to do custom air at the 210 day point, but would rather submit my requested itinerary options in writing. Is there a form to email in? What is normal turnaround time?
  15. Thanks for this review. We have two cruises booked on Vista...LA to Miami Canal cruise in November and 11 night Caribbean cruise in late January. Hopefully service issues will be addressed by then.
  16. Thanks for this. We just booked the Splendor March 31, 2024 Miami to Barcelona TA. You affirmed our choice!
  17. First time user of Regent air here. We will certainly pay the deviation fee and come into South Florida a few days early and stay a day late in Barcelona post our TA cruise. Question: If I pay deviation fee, will Regent air book me into Ft. Lauderdale or West Palm Beach airport instead of Miami? We prefer those, as they are closer to family and friends we want to visit pre cruise. Our home airport is JFK, if that matters.
  18. Considering a Transatlantic on Splendor next Spring. Have never done a Regent TA. What sorts of enhanced special activities/programs/entertainment are usually available on a TA compared to usual trivia and one or two enrichment speakers and one evening show available on most cruises. Anything extra or special?
  19. Considering a Transatlantic on Vista next Spring. It has been several years since we have done an Oceania TA. What sorts of enhanced special activities/programs/entertainment are usually available on a TA compared to usual trivia and one enrichment speaker and one evening show available on most Oceania cruises. Anything extra or special?
  20. I would doubt it because of the few percentage of passengers that travel on flights that late in the day from western European cities. Most cruise passengers heading for N. America or other European cities have flight times such that passengers have to be at the airport too early in the day to allow for tour time. Different than cruises disembarking in the U.S., South America or Asia where many flights leave later in the day.
  21. The amount is per stateroom and is split between the two passengers regardless of which person (or both) holds ownership. I own the shares but our $250 credit shows as $125 per person.
  22. Agree that as long as we get the credit, not a big deal, but not sure anyone at Oceania could explain a good reason for the inconsistency.
  23. Yeah, well I tried that and got this reply from my TA:"I called Oceania and spoke with xxxx; he advised that the $250 Shareholder Benefit is on your account, but it is listed under gifts and cannot be seen on your online account with Oceania." Again, not a big enough deal to fight about, but I have two additional Oceania cruises and one Regent cruise booked in next 18 months. Will be interesting to see if there is consistency in the way they are posted to my account.
  24. Mine shows as "complementary shipboard credit" also, but is listed under "gifts" on my invoice. The "credits" portion shown on website when I sign in does not reflect this amount, so doubt I could use it to make purchases ahead of the cruise. I have already purchased my shore excursions, so really will not be an issue for me for my next cruise, but could be for a future.
