  1. The additional daily charge gives you 4 connections per account. In the past have talked to the internet manager (who works for WMS their current internet supplier) who gave us the additional connections gratis. When Starlink is installed, I am sure their internet pricing will change. Oceania announce they will give 1 per guest, when this occurs.
  2. Agree 100%. Nothing in 2023/24 excites. Same old ports. So we have other cruises booked for 2023 to early 2025. We have ventured to new lines like Regent, Seabourn and Explora. SS is already and old friend. Looking to see what Crystal has plans for in 2025. A big negative for Crystal is only having two ships now, makes variety and innovation less easy. I am glad others will try Crystal and look to see how the first cruises go.
  3. So far we have not had to do this, as my DW gets Eylea every three months. We have thought of it. Our travel insurance will not cover this as it is a pre-existing medical maintenance item. Cost for Eylea is over 2K per injection. For good physicians and hospitals that might do this I would check international insurance carriers like GeoBlue to see who are their in network providers are and work from there. You could also contact the US Embassy as they may have a recommended list of health care providers. Especially as to the skill level and availability of ophthalmologist's that specializes in retina diseases in ports like Lima.
  4. How is it way more by itself, if you were home and made the booking from your home you would get 30%...
  5. The book on board is 5% across the line. The current promotion is 30% off expedition cruise when you book on board you get the 5% for a total of 35%. Slick marketing talk from the Seabourn Ambassador. Was told August/Sept...
  6. Thanks and good to hear. We plan on booking same when the 2025's are out.. As stated we did the first and it sold me on the small port theme they have. We are back on SS in November and waiting for some new VISTA bookings to open for our 2025 cruises.

  8. We look for similar -- non mainstream ports. No Santorini, Rhodes or Crete... Azamara has some great ports, but we do not like the Renaissance class ships any longer. Too old, maintenance issues, and less roomy. SB definitely has interesting small ports, but we also like SS and Regent and have 14 Oceania (when we can find a decent itinerary) Here are some more interesting cruises we looked at, sailed or plan in the future. More interesting Turkey/Greece (done this past May), More interesting Canadian, Dalmatia (in the cards for 2025), Italian (maybe a future one) --
  9. Support the Europe to US sailings. We will do a stay (3 days to relieve the jet lag) then a pre-sailing TA so have a week of ports then head home on a leisurely trip with lots of sea days. Usually end port is MIA or FLL so we hope in the car and home in 2 hours. Last one was on Regent. Rome to Barcelona then Barcelona to MIAMI. Our next on SS is Lisbon to Lisbon and then to FLL
  10. Depends on the restaurant. The Restaurant has 1 formal night per week. You can do casual (no shorts) in the Colonnade (equivalent to Terrace). In fact to the OPs original post, I would recommend SB. Why -- best itineraries than any cruise line. Not 100% inclusive -- the shore excursions are not included unlike Regent, Viking or SS. Not as formal as SS but more than Regent and Oceania. Lastly they do make it easy to find single fares https://seabournsolotraveler.com/
  11. Any clue from first cruisers as to when Excursions are available for booking?? Web site seems to be a disaster. Even the link to our cruise had to be done manually by their CS department,.
  12. Everything including booking questions and issues goes to contact@explorajourneys.com Crazy how they determine what one gets.. they do give top tier Seabourn 200 points. Interesting too the hotels linked, such as 4 Seasons.... My DW would not like it if I get 200 for 4 seasons and she gets 100 for Seabourn.. The links did state that once Explora does create their own program they will be linked. It also states that these credits can be applied to the folio. Value per???
  13. Yes you can and since PE is usually less money you may also get some money back. Because air prices have skyrocketed for Biz, Regent has started offering PE with a discount off of the cruise fare.
  14. If you are stopping in St Barts or St. Martin you could exchange there.
  15. Good deal. Because prices are WAY UP for airline flights especially to Asia/Pacific cities. Presume the credit was around $6,000 for the biz flights. We are on the March 2024 Tokyo cruise and most 1 stop Air is around 8K to 10K RT. The loan airline discounting is AC which is around 6K. We elected to do FF miles and surprising found a 1 stop using UA Saver award. Our return we are going to spend a week in the Aloha state.
  16. If you are planning for a United flight. Make sure you turn on Expert Mode. This way you can see the Fare buckets available. Remember that Regent will only book discounted fares so you will need a P or Z fare for biz class to avoid or minimize an upcharge on the fare
  17. LOTS... Airlines sell seats at 330 days out -- but my experience is the only seats booked so far out are FF seats. Regent has contracts for X number of seats. They changed the date because of the airlines and their frequent changes, this caused too much work in Miami with notifications and rebookings.
  18. Hotels do allow an early check in. I would call the Fairmont near the port. If you book a room for the night before, you can check in when you get off the ship. Call the hotel and discuss this with the reservation manager.
  19. The Intercontinental no longer books day rooms in advance. You need to call them 10 days prior to check if they can do this for you. Obviously depends on their room availability and schedule of arrivals for the day in question. You could also try Fare Suisse as they have done day rooms in the past.
  20. Greetings from Port St Lucie 🙂 We had a great time on Splendor in December. Have a great trip and the very best on the 40th.
  21. The terms state -- "The Shareholder must own the Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. stock at time of sailing. Credit is applied on a per stateroom/suite basis. So Technically yes. The question is it worth monitoring this to save $100-$250 once someone has gone out the way to request same. This seems to be a manual process. I treat NCL as an investment as my shares are greater than the 100. My 100 shares in Carnival was only for the credit for the Seabourn cruises we have taken post COVID. on the other side ===> I doubt if they would be proactive to award incentives without requesting and give away money... "
  22. We booked two cruises in December on board. The deposit was $1000 ($500pp)
  23. Same issue and same solution. Our physician prescribed doxycycline. And yes there is the Sun warning. You really need to balance risk versus reward and port, time of day and excursion dependent, and time of year. Having been to Capetown, the Southern South Africa coast, etc. I have never found the need to use any Anti Malaria medication. I would find it more appropriate to use an insect repellent where their would be possible mosquito occurrences.
  24. Just a reminder, just talking to Regent air will incur a $75 fee, which is waived if you are successful and pay the $175 fee. Finding good acceptable flights is getting harder, especially if you booked early. The Regent air allowance is WAY BELOW the current pricing of air. Particularly true for SA and Asia/Pacific. What was a $4500 fare 18 months ago is now a $6500 to $8000 fare now.
