  1. Have not seen any photos yet posted here on the Cigar Room.. From social media...
  2. That is the intent. What I object to is the one per journey. So if I book 3 B2B cruises -- I only get one for the entire journey and not one per segment. Not only one advance but only one reservation for the entire journey. I am still waiting for an answer -- what do they mean by course by course butler dining in a Residence. Do they mean from any restaurant?? As far as reservations being full, I think alot of this is being due to TA's and influences on first cruises, I have seen several FB posts showing multiple meals at Marble and Sakura (and yes Sakura is open for lunch with no reservation) . This is one reason to avoid inaugurals. But then again the ship is far from being at maximum capacity. As the line is new, I am sure they will be fine tuning and making changes.
  3. Add to that the dress codes and quality and that of Regent and the newcomer in Explora. And of course the Points Guy -- influencer. Do you really think that is an unbiased opinion. Yeah sure put up in a brand new suite. I would like to see their opinion in an old Veranda or unrenovated PH.
  4. Agree with Ivi, too many influencers and TA's on the first cruises. Seeing this on Crystal too. Dare write a bad comment or article and you will be banned or never given a free trip. Of course they are given Penthouse or equivalent suites. Dare the get a small cabin or a not renovated suite (in case of Crystal). Then of course the cruise line knows who these people are and I am sure the staff have also been briefed too. (I need to be silent or get my self in trouble 🙂 ) The benefit to us regular Joe's and Josephine's is we get info as to the suites, their design, the venues, the menus etc. As to the how good, well that is always an opinion.
  5. Not exactly accurate. It really depends on the OPs age. If you are in your 80's, cruise insurance can be cheaper than most private plans, because cruise lines plans are based on a flat percentage rate for all. Private plan rates are entirely age based rates. Still do not recommend them and concur with the The trip insurance store and Steve. One thing the OP needs to pay attention is the pre existing coverage trap. They did NOT purchase a plan with their down payment - so no waiver. So any pre existing conditions (like heart issues) may not be covered. Their are only a few companies like CSA that cover pre existing conditions when you purchase by the final payment.
  6. Since 6028 is in the center of the ship I would not worry. The rooms that have extended balconies are a different cabin class GT (Grand Terrace) and jut out about a meter further.
  7. Definitely they have SW issues. We had no trouble booking our TK reservations for our cruise in May 2023. Actually made them in January. Received email confirmation (save those mails) and one month prior the booking disappeared from the site. Redid them again with of course different availability, got to the ship and they were all gone. Talked with the Seabourn Square Manager and she reentered them again locally.
  8. Visit 1 -- Steak was over done (medium rare and received medium well). Wrong sides served. No effort to rectify. Complained on mid cruise survey, no response. Visit 2 - Service was extremely slow. Mains were both good. Meal took 2.5 hours. Caesar salad was incorrectly made. Nobody supervising the assistants. We thought the staff was new and poorly trained, example being the Caesar salad something very basic. We had similar issues in the Restaurant on day 1 and last day of cruises, extremely crowded and the service staff was overwhelmed. We were on Odyssey 8 months earlier and TK was by far the best food we have had on a cruise in a long time.
  9. Here is the Lobby Bar menu. Basically a Gin drinker so satisfied with the Gin included items. However Cognac taste buds will not be satisfied with the included rock gut. Someone mentioned the included wines shipboard amounted to 20 but have not seen a list.
  10. The question will be once the initial introduction is done, do they do more flow management to keep the numbers at 70-80% filled as many cruise lines do. I do not see why so many object to a buffet. Certainly at times a welcome change after a long excursion day. You can add to the fact that up to 10 percent of the people will do room service on a given night. Do you happen to have a post of the Room Service menu...
  11. My TA made it clear to me -- one booking per cruise (B2B does NOT get another) in Marble and Sakura, You can make it 60 days prior by phone or through your TA. Yes and the first cruise is populated with many TA's and so called influencers..
  12. So does Seabourn have an equivalent Japanese venue or La Dame equivalent??? But of course unless you have a bunch of non refundable OBC -- La Dame even at its best is not worth it.
  13. To get to the topic of the OP. Pizza is NOT available on the room service menu. We asked (three months ago on Encore) for Dinner and they said no. Then we stated can you sent up 5 orders of Caviar.. For lunch just go to the pool grill and grab some slices -- instant room service. However the Pizza is a 2* or lower. SS has real Pizza.
  14. Before they stopped the visa requirement for Americans they had instituted an E-Visa process. So it is a mater for them to reactivate the web site and update it. I would not expect the site to become active until 2 weeks prior to the 1 October date. They could move the soccer net to a later date. As many have stated the old process of going to the Embassy was a pain even those who were close to one. Like most cruise lines Seabourn uses Visa Central/CIBT to process the embassy required visas... So you should keep abreast there and the government site, https://cibtvisas.com/tourkits?bookmark=1&login=seabourncruiseline
  15. We got on Encore on the 30th and stayed for 3 weeks. Have similar opinions about food and service. We had to hunt out for great servers in the Colonnade and Restaurant and stay with them. Service and food in TK was abysmal. Had no problem with the APP and the printed daily and menu was a welcome change. It continued for the remaining 14 days. There were alot of complaints about not have a paper version. I do take exception to the officer non availability (in you on line blog). We saw Captain Dave every day in the morning for coffee. Several times, we talked for upwards of 20 minutes ( we are both horse owners). Executive chef was visible throughout the day. But in the end we cruise for the ports we can visit, and Seabourn has one of the best itineraries for a medium sized ship. You do not get into these small Turkish and Greek ports with a large Celebrity type vessel. We were lucky also in Santorini as being the only ship in port. Cable car was empty.

    Casinos gone?

Considering the way Resorts and Genting tore out the the existing casino equipment likely will not be a very easy task to reinstall the machines plus all of the security system and its control room. And yes those Seabourn casinos are more like a closet.
  17. It is the Pool bar -- do you drink port at the pool???
  18. Bar Menu - Pool bar from some social media posts. These look like from the iPhone App Also has the added price drinks,
  19. @mike@sea agree 100% the audio was painful. We are doing a Caribbean in January and the ship is the destination. Except for Cartagena, have been to all of the ports at least x3 times. Your comment on the day beds and only one being on the deck of the larger decks and PH and Residences is spot on. DW always wins on those one of issues. Same with the sinks in the bathrooms.
  20. It is $2225 per person. But is is good that they do see that they have sufficient funds to pay the priority claims (consumer, wages, taxes) up State of Florida maximums. The court will take at least 30 days, allowing then to finish. The balance gets rolled in with the original list of persons owed including TA's, food vendors, port fees, fuel providers, musicians and independent on ship contractors.
  21. And we know how accurate MSC/Explora CS is. Only took 5 tries to fix my booking... If you try to log on with the app earlier -- it gives you an error and says 90 days.
  22. Saw the APP in the iPhone store. Allows checking in, passport upload, getting boarding pass. You cannot login until fully paid and 90 days out. I would hope you could book restaurants using this but it is unclear. Same with excursions. Anyone within 90 days want to try it.
  23. Paltry commission on a 20K fare -- highly doubt that.. Do you think Crystals sales are stunning?? The same is true with Crystal but MSC does not have the history of OC stiffing their agents. The initial Explora photo's are not just impressive but stunning. So are the menus. That is why it is important for Crystal to have new ships ASAP. The announcement is good. I would criticize the the small company going in many directions by going after the crowded expedition market. It is crowded and competing against luxury incumbents SS and new luxury ships by Seabourn will not be easy and resources could be spent in other areas. We all know what happens when you start diversifying and not focusing on your core. We saw it with GHK.
  24. Yes agree. Buy why the Expedition ships, as A&K is not a big player in expedition cruises with one part-time leased Ponant ship. Is Manfredi trying to make a copy of Silversea. Over expansion was his lucky downfall when RCL bought him out pre Covid.
