  1. An he is known for doing this -- I posted on his site, I bet you are salivating with today's news.
  2. Yes definitely consider the source. His reputation precludes considering himself as a unbiased source.
  3. I would inquire as to what that means -- we are on the Tokyo to Tokyo in March 24. Regent added $399 to do the China Visa. That type of Visa requires you to do the work, using their VISA service VisaCentral. We already have a 10 year Visa so we had that charge removed... For those unfamiliar with their visa service -- https://visacentral.com/tourkits?bookmark=1&login=rssc
  4. "may have this fault" no one knows, because it depends on when the panel did not meet the specs.
  5. Have done this with Seabourn last year. Issue was not the airport very quick through immigration. Issue was the port area and transport in an out. You can imagine how crowded port area is with all of the festivities. But no different that DC, Baltimore or NY... Hotel prices were high and we did book early. During that period we had to Covid test on Canada day for our cruise, and the only place open was the airport facility (so had to make a special run back). You should be fine.. Enjoy Vancouver, one of my favorite places.
  6. The web site is one way, you can also send them an email to get on their info list. I did notice this....
  7. You definitely have enough. Rome Athens -- entering and leaving the EU on same page Israel -- no (they give you a paper) Egypt - yes one page Japan -- entering, leaving , entering and leaving (2 pages max) Korea 1page Taiwan 1 page China 2 pages -- One for a visa. Has Regent informed you how Visas will be handled?? Will they do a cruise transit visa as in pre COVID or do you need a normal embassy visa. Something to think about or plan for. Hong Kong 1 page entering and leaving These are maximums, many times in the EU, they will use an old page with multiple stamps
  8. Gary -- the point of the tasteless cookies is make the coffee taste better. Enjoy your Sunday.. 🙂
  9. Mine got kicked out the first time. Make sure the background is really white. Sometimes off whites will not work. Also no glasses. Also make sure it is a recent photo. I have used passportvisaexpress.com for my quick need passports and visas for biz travel
  10. We go on Seabourn, for the itinerary only. If it was for their food, Regent, SS and even Oceania have better food and variety. But I do applaud the changes, Room service on SB really is bad, with very limited menu and choices. New menus in the Restaurant -- yes Starlink -- but then again SS and Regent are doing the same New Ocean ships== nahdah === which is a big disadvantage. I love the Seabourn ships and layouts For those that do not like SS new pricing, I actually find better. You can take a stripped down Port to Port on a short notice and accept the no down refund or you can door the door to door and take the credits for removing the air and the transfers (yes you can do so).
  11. We recently did this with Seabourn. We thought it would be daunting but was rather easy. Step 1 - The biggest issue is finding a taxi or hotel driver that knows where they are going. The cruise departures have a separate turn off inside the facility and takes you to a special floor, if you find your self going among parked cars you are in the wrong area. Our taxi was one of those who knew not, and we found some porters and took the elevator to the correct floor. Step 2 -- bag drop off. They will dog sniff your luggage and once OK you can enter the building where you will go through security Step 3 Check in -- get your boarding pass or cruise card. On Seabourn we were given a paper card and the real stateroom card was in our cabin. Step 4 -- go to the ship but if you are first embarking -- you go to the left and passport control. Step 5 - walk to the ship. Can be the longest or shortest. Port holds 4 ships. They have concrete barricades that are hydraulically lifted to separate the passengers form the general public in the Galata port. Each vessel is separated in such a manner. If you are in spot 1 -- shortest 1 walk, spot 4 longest walk. The signs in the port are very well done so most people will not get lost.
  12. Anyone on contract are considered no different than the persons owed for vegetables in Miami. First are wages to employees, the Taxman also takes their take, Passengers are next but only up to $2,125. The rest owed to passengers goes into the unsecured pot. So according to the article quoted all passengers owed money will get the allowed portion, which allows ABC to begin paying a fraction of the unsecured lower priority claims. How much does $12M left (of which $1M is wages and ABC fees not fully accounted) go. That is the question?? Me thinks not far... 🙂
  13. The gratuity and TAX is included in the packages. Some countries will charge a tax (like Brazil) on these packages so best be warned buy these ahead of time. @Sthrngary Enjoying my Jamaican Blue Mountain which we freshly roasted yesterday 🙂
  14. But it depends on the court and the State law. Not all debts are created equal -- some are priority. Example -- ships wages to crew and staff (if direct employees) are generally considered priority and first to be paid. In the case of Crystal passenger fares are being considered priority but only the first $2K.
  15. I agree. They need to get going, bring in continuous revenue for year or two to prove to the investment community that they are viable. Then it is new ships to replace and grow. That is the only way to survive.
  16. Spells only one thing... Retirement of the R class ships on a phased basis.
  17. He was hired for continuity and knew where the bodies were buried. He knew and had the best contacts to bring back the much needed travel partners. It is 100 percent clear all of the strings are being pulled from Monaco. New CEO, ports and planning plus other senior positions . US is just a a sales office. Nothing wrong with this but the ownership needs control and that is where the owner is.
  18. Anything you received as a first priority payout is going to be small and is capped at around $2K by Florida law. The rest of your claim is lumped with the rest of the feeding sharks.
  19. And then again most former Crystal customers have not rebooked.... Just looks at the open sailings, nothing is sold out. They will have a long haul to be sucessfull. Having been one of those unlucky persons some lessons learned 1. File a dispute for non delivery of services with your credit card. Amex seems to have been the most receptive to this type of claim. Visa has a 500 day window for non delivery claims. 500 days from your payment. After this they will not pay. My case - Chase denied me. Amex paid my deposit refund back. 2. I do not think Venture had any departures from US ports. In this case a FMC bond would have been posted, that could provide some claim money. 3. Insurance. If you purchased insurance through the cruise company there is no bankruptcy coverage. If you purchased insurance through a third party, like a broker or directly from the insurer you MAY be covered. Many insurance companies have a time limit as to when bankruptcy protection is effective. Example Travelguard was 21 day policy purchase limit from the date your down payment was made. 4. Insurance Company are picky on paying. They will delay and delay. Make sure you provide copies of invoices of payment, copy of the credit card statement showing payment, copy of cancellation of cruise notice plus file a claim with a credit card anyway and provide a copy of the denying letter/statement. They will likely ask for more items like credit card statements from the date you cancelled/or were cancelled until the present showing no refunds. 5. After two months of non action -- file an complaint with your state insurance commission that usually will starts some action. Best of luck...
  20. It has no specific reason as to closest location. Depends on which site has the least backlog. If things go awry (mine did last time) they give a direct address and mail stop to send any corrections. I generally use a passport service but last renew was during covid and had plenty of time.
  21. These are just collection points. From there State sends your application/passport to one of the 20+ passport centers. You application number first two digits will tell you which center has it.
  22. I know its frustrating. But -- When you buy something and it is not to your liking do you accept it. There must be some open issues that are better handled in port that are delaying the ship after its acceptance trials. With supply chain issues every thing is speculation.
  23. The goal was to begin paying out claims by 31 July 2023. The last motions were procedural plus they had a settlement with the purchaser of the river boats over the liquor on board which was deemed Crystal property and not Genting property.... They settled for 50% of this. Why fight over this small amount -- well it was $250,000 and the Agent ABC gets 10% of this... 🙂 As noted, in post 3 they expect to file a motion to begin paying priority claims. The court takes approximately 30 days to approve these and so likely now late September is more realistic to see any money on the open and approved claims.
