  1. You can order party platters such as cheese and crackers, shrimp, fruit or veggies, etc from the celebration packages. You'll have a card in your room and call for delivery. There's sail away packages also. Champagne or cakes, etc . No, regular room service isn't available til after sailaway. You could go to the buffet and get plates of food and bring back to the cabin - straight shot up/down the aft elevators.. and outrigger bar is directly up from you, aft of Horizon Terrace buffet..
  2. We love the shows - they're different though. Short, usually mainly musical and dancing as with so many nationalities and cultures aboard, stories don't always translate well. They're about 40 minutes long.. lots of music, IME, nightlife and such last longer than more American mainstream lines - nightclub usually hopping still at 2 or 3 am. I'd expect a short 3 nighter to be quite lively! We have always enjoyed the food. Again, different than what you'll find on Carnival or RCCL but in a good way - to us. We enjoy the differences. There's the always available, chicken, beef, salmon.. buffet is diverse. Best pizza at sea. And the sticky cinnamon buns at breakfast are divine . As is the breakfast pizza!! I'm sure you'll enjoy. As with other lines - 3 nighters are very different than week long cruises - usually much more of a party cruise, lively, and service can seem more stretched . Have a great time!
  3. $15 for an umbrella on Ocean Key for our October Divina sailing. "Any thing else I should know that will be way different then Carnival and or Royal? (e.g. boarding, debarkation, drills, etc)" Yes - pay close attention to what Experience you're booking and what's included or not in that Experience. It's a different way of pricing than the mainstream cruise lines.. MSC has 4 different booking Experiences, and each includes different things. All include the basics, ie MDR, shows, entertainment, buffet, room, housekeeping, etc. Bella isost basic- basic cruise experience, rooms in less desirable locations, only set dining time, etc. Fantastica is also set dining although they get priority of choice in their times over Bella, some room service options included, better cabin locations, etc. Aurea adds anytime dining, two massages, best room locations, room service, and some more perks..and Yacht Club- Luz ship within ship, mainly am all-inclusive luxury experience- large cabins, butlers, separate restaurant, pool, deck, lounge, drink package, internet and so forth... (this is a generalization, not exact - check the website for exact inclusions). Lots of people who cruise frequently on other lines get caught out by the Experience idea and not paying attention to what is included in their Experience - they book by price and then are mad when they can't do anytime dining or don't have room service included or such.. so, read up on that! Muster drill is at your muster station, no going out to the actual lifeboat deck. All announcements will be in at least 5 languages, often 6 or 7. Menus are multiple pages - same thing in 6 or so languages. Service is more continental European style - staff won't be in your face all the time asking how you are, what can they get you, etc - be prepared to flag them down for service similar to bistro or bar in much of continental Europe. Much more diverse demographics (usually, although a 3 day will be heavier on USA than longer sailing). On many Miami sailings, US passengers account for half or less of all aboard, which makes for much different atmosphere aboard than RCCL or Carnival, etc. loads from south America, Russia, European countries, etc. It adds to their experience for us - others seem to find it distressing to have so many different cultures colliding aboard (some cultures don't queue up for things the same as others, more smoking around than other cruises, layer dining times tend to be more popular, etc). Have a great time!!
  4. Currently not being offered. Before Covid, you booked it under either Onboard Celebration or Culinary Delights in the cruise personalizer.
  5. What Skynight said.. Premier refers to location. The cabin itself is the same, whether premium or not. You can have premium balcony and premium deluxe balcony cabins.. Balcony cabins (B) category are virtually all similar inside them - Premium would refer to it's location - whether it has a larger balcony or not depends on specific cabin. Deluxe Balcony (D) is the next category up of room, it is different from a balcony cabin. Deluxe refers to it being slightly larger than standard balcony, and has a loveseat sofa in it. There are also Premium deluxe balcony cabins, again in locations Princess deems "better" or more preferred than others. Balcony may or may not be larger, interior of the Deluxe will be virtually the same across all the cabins. Don't be misled by thinking Premium means anything more than location. There's lots of premium balcony/deluxe cabins that have all the same size balcony, etc... And there's no extra services or amenities.
  6. At Morne Coubaril, the 4 of you not zip lining could do the chocolate and run tasting tour or the plantation tour. Both the zip line and either of the two tours take about an hour.. Or at Rainforest Adventures zip line, you Al could do the aerial tram ride while the others zip line... Otherwise - not so much as the courses aren't located all that close to many other sight seeing options. Alternatively, your 3 could zip line at whatever course while the other 4 did something different, then you all meet back at port... Ie they zip while you explore Pigeon Island . None of the courses are closer than an hour to port, so there's lots of transfer time involved either way .
  7. Outdoors seating area on Promenade Deck - both sides have some padded couches, along with loungers along the sides down towards aft. Lovely, quiet, and delivery available. Indoors at Vines by the window or Club 6 by the windows (large picture windows).. across from Princess Live on 7, large comfy chairs, big picture windows. Library across from Crown Grill Lido deck for sailaway party. Seaview Bar for drinks and views, under cover Outrigger bar, aft of Horizon Court - you can grab a variety of snacks and enjoy, or delivery plus full bar Alfredo's if you want to enjoy a pizza or the pasta or antipasta while sailaway Good Spirits bar, couches by the large picture windows, International Cafe right there, Good Spirits drinks and full bar, etc. Loads of places - spend a little time walking around the ship beforehand and find your spot. Most will be at the sailaway party of the weather is good..
  8. Diamond Princess does not have an International Cafe. That's the Internet Cafe on deck 5. Diamond was reconfigured for the Japanese and Asian market and several things are quite different - no IC, Izumi baths (segregated by gender), etc. Yes, it's MedallionClass.. all Princess ships are, or will be by the time they sail..
  9. There is no Uber (or Lyft) in St Lucia. We have a home grown ride share app option called Allez, works mainly in the north.. Taxi to Naked Fisherman is $35usd one way from port(s) for up to 3 persons (not pp). Reduit Beach (Rodney Bay) is $30usd for up to 3 persons...
  10. Not for us. While suites are nice and all and we've enjoyed many of them on various ships - on Princess, absolutely not a problem going back to balcony or Oceanview or insides, depending on itinerary. The suites and perks aren't worth the significant cost jump over other cabins, IMO.. On Celebrity, suites are fab - not just larger cabins and a separate breakfast but so so much more! There, it's much more of a difficult decision to take a lower cabin category over a suite, regardless of itinerary, etc. To each their own...
  11. Vigie is the only one near port. 6-8 minutes can ride, 30 minutes walk. Small boardwalk with local restaurants and drinks, chairs, natural shade, WiFi access, clean bathrooms. Otherwise - Reduit in Rodney Bay, 30 minutes north, WiFi at Spinnaker's. Naked Fisherman is much more like 35-40 minutes away due to traffic, particularly when a ship, or ships, are in port. One way there an back. Beautiful upscale cove beach restaurant and setting.. great food. Safe travels
  12. Not that include mud baths, waterfall, etc as it is a fair distance from port. You can charter a boat for a half day sail, but you won't have time to do any of the activities..
  13. No changes in zip line options on island. All three are wide open for business.
  14. We had it on Regal back in December, January and February. It was held in the buffet, not the Crown Grill Wheelhouse area. Listed as a line item in the Patter, not separately in the dining section...
  15. Yeah, no comparison. Maybe, maybe to Blu, maybe - but even then, not really.. Cc is a portion of the MDR. It's not divided or separated any way. It is a "dedicated" entrance, so to speak, although guests from the other section of the dining room can and do go back and forth for restroom access or leaving the dining room, heading to their table when they already know where it is from night before, etc. CC has different linens, a different menu cover and flowers than the other tables in the MDR. And one additional dish that changes each night, may be an app, may be a main, may be a dessert - sometimes there may be two items. No rhyme or reason - up to the chef and what they have to work with, or use up... Lumiere and Blue are totally separate dining rooms respectively, completely different decor, menus, ambience, etc. No other guests strolling through or such... We have enjoyed CC when we've had it but we wouldn't go out of our way or pay extra for a CC mini (we experience CC when we book suites).. while it's lovely to not wait - we don't anyways in the MDR as we don't dine at peak times. And we've always had lovely interaction with our wait staff, CC or not (both pre and post Covid). YMMV - but yeah, they're not comparable! (Neither are suite perks for that matter - and keep in mind, mini-suites on Princess, including CC ones, do not have any perks to speak of - a welcome glass is sparkling blech aka wine for a mini, and two half splits of wine for CC do not really suite perks make - it's very much a misnomer for what amounts to a larger room). Enjoy...
  16. Yes, just pressing is an option with the Elite laundry benefit. There's actually a space on the form to check ✔️ if you only want pressing and not full laundry wash/dry .
  17. Onball Royal class ships balconies are fully covered with a few specific exceptions - mainly aft facing, a few forward facing and a couple forward in 8. The ships are not tiered on the sides like Grand Class ships.
  18. You'll need to contact them much much closer to your sailing but yes, day guests are allowed. They don't do a day pass, ie set rate, it's pay as you go for food and drinks. Loads of steps, be prepared.
  19. Depends where you're coming from. If you're heading north on your sailing - nope, you won't see them, particularly as you'd be passing early morning. If you're heading south or to Barbados after - most ships often sail down the west coast, near enough to see them from a distance. Not a great view - but it's there.
  20. The photo nattie posted above is how all the 4 berth minis are on Sky (and basically all Royal class ships). They will not be sharing a bed
  21. Ice buckets are standard in Princess cabins, and steward will keep it full all the time. And you can order ice water from room service no charge at all. Or extra ice, etc.
  22. Thousands have toured with Israel King.. Here's a couple hundred reviews at CCs sister site, TripAdvisor. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g147344-d1972385-Reviews-Israel_King_Water_Taxi_Private_Tours-Gros_Islet_Gros_Islet_Quarter_St_Lucia.html There's also Shashamane Water Taxi, Solomon's Water Taxi, Mystic Man water taxi, and so forth. Lots of options (those are but a very few). And of course, there's organized water based tours via catamaran or speedboats such as SeaSpray, Carnival, Bateau Mygo, Knotty Girl, Joy's Ocean Angel, Spencer Ambrose, Joe Knows, Hackshaw's, and so forth.
  23. It's a 10-15 minutes walk to the beach from the ship. The chair ride is 5 minutes or so, and you still have a 5-10 minutes walk to where it starts.. Personally, I find it hilarious that people buy the chair ride as the walk is actually quite beautiful, but to each their own - mobility issues and all that could make a difference. Clamshells are packed in close together, again they're not our thing but apparently people love them and pay - totally subjective. It's a smallish beach and very crowded, particularly if two ships in port. No, drink package does not work in Mahogany Bay. You have to pay for food or drinks. Very limited menu, only one restaurant that rubs the length of the beach, several spots you can order. There's some shops, clean bathrooms, etc around the port. Enjoy.
  24. Princess has a very comprehensive FAQs section for cruisetours. Luggage question answered in detail: https://www.princess.com/learn/faq/cruisetours/alaska-cruisetours/ Yes, you can have a bag "join me at the ship" if you have more than one bag and want to pack your cruise attire separately...
  25. Yes, that's basically the only exception to crusies that end in the US - if they depart Vancouver and have gone through pre-clearance; same as flights to the US from Vancouver, and numerous other Canadian airports (and some other international airports) that have US pre-clearance (FWIW). You're cleared in Vancouver and arrive in US as a domestic passenger. Do you know whether that's the same out of Quebec City? I'm not aware that they have pre-clearance or not..(for those Canadian fall cruises and the guests who may do QC to NY and back).
