  1. That's the way our laundry came back....! When I wanted to return the neat little baggie parcel I left it on our bed more than once. Our butler kept returning it to us. Guess he meant for us to use it for the 'next' laundry deposit...☺️.
  2. Oddly....my friend on Oceania came down with covid and the ship doctor provided Paxlovid. Wonder if X will do the same.
  3. Thanks for the 'photo review'....I enjoyed renewing memories from past cruises. Too bad the weather didn't allow photos of our beautiful mega city Toronto from the air.
  4. Because some contradict your OPINION doesn't make them haters. Why is the language so strong on this thread and why such defense both pro and con. If you think you won't like the IV, don't book the IV. I like the X product but not the IV. This lessens my choices for which X ships to sail (unless in a suite). Which may push me to another line. I don't think posters wish those who dislike IVs to not exist.
  5. I've made both Special and Select dining reservations in the past few weeks....no check box. Whoops....I'd better check, I now read it's hidden in the 'accept the terms and conditions' box.
  6. Wonderful start to your semi-retirement! If you don't mind answering....Which cruise had which vibe.
  7. This is 'food' for thought....I've spent a considerable time recently reading 'other' cruise boards and exploring land holidays. I'm finding very similar complaints or comments in conversation with O longtime cruising friends, reading the board, watched videos, saw pics, etc. Almost booked O last week, but in comparison, not much except dining seems better, although there was a very long thread re 'O Food' (won't mention the ship) which noted a decline in dining. Celebrity had more to offer US so there is much to keep us with X FOR NOW and if that makes me a 'cheer leader' so be it. I've done my homework. I had a recent conversation with an Exec Office staff member on phone and email re queries, including these 'food problems'. Explanation was/is supply and demand which is being addressed and remedied 🤞. Expected response but reasonable. As time goes on perhaps we'll hear from those currently sailing for their experience. Partial Quoting in answer to dining: "....there has been a supply chain issue on past sailings that seems to have been resolved .... the menu was dependent on what the ships were able to source, and what region they’re in."
  8. I will ....but....I'm wondering why you're even on this forum if you are "sooo brutally anti-Celebrity". BTW....I don't find you so anti Celebrity, just commenting as we all do. No doubt you praised your time on Millennium. Perhaps a longtime troll or just having fun passing the time with not much else to do. Did I strike a chord...🤩 ? ***** I read your remarks on the last page of the 'M' thread....I apologize, you're not a 'troll'; I still think you're having fun with most of the posters and not as negative to the positive as it seems by your remarks. Although in reading, you do react well to the suite pampering which does enhance 'our' honest opinion of Celebrity.
  9. You HAVE said there are many cheer leaders on this board and the inference is they say 'nice' things about their experience with X. They truly mean it so it's their 'honest' opinion. You differ....c'est la vie. I could say something not very nice....as in "it's often open to put words in"...but I won't. 😉
  10. Then what makes an 'honest opinion' cheer leading. This is only your opinion which has a negative tone. Or do you positively think those who speak well of X aren't worth their opinion because it disagrees with yours? Word games.
  11. Thank you for your comments....most wear and tear considering the ship's age is understandable, but the noted items above should always be repaired IMO. Loose door handles, curtain clips 'missing' and no sheer curtain are certainly fixable.
  12. IYO....is positive opinion not 'honest' opinion?...🤔
  13. Thank you all for your response.....DH didn't want to book a cabin that was in poor condition due to age. It's obvious they've kept her in good shape.
  14. May I ask which is your accommodation?
  15. We last sailed the Eclipse in 2017. If you've cruised her in the past year, can you comment on its condition? I know it hasn't been refurbished so has that affected the linens, carpets, draperies, etc in the cabins. The common areas I'm sure will be in good shape, just concerned re the cabins.
  16. We had 2 cases lost during air travel. X nicely provided T-shirts (no razor, etc). They contacted the airline for us repeatedly; cases showed up 3 days later at 2nd port, after we shopped in San Juan for 'essentials', shorts, tees etc. I don't use Apple but would like to have air tags. I think we can shop for Google tags?
  17. Most likely the "States" version, not "ours".
  18. Written for those who know our bacon as 'Cdn bacon', and not Peameal or Back bacon.
  19. Just watched YouTube Riviera full ship (less the cabins). Looks lovely in every area. Did see the open air dining off the buffet.
  20. My friends agree with you....I didn't see a pic of that, only a windowed area off the buffet...so that wouldn't be the Terrace Cafe?
  21. My estimation also. The S class ships have the double deck dining room, hence the high ceiling....just a little sense of grandeur and space I guess. I was just reading through the O Riviera thread titled their 'Food'. Seemed to be many bad reviews. Perhaps the aftermath of the pandemic has affected all lines. My friend just finished 30+ days on that ship and didn't find a lot of difference from their many O cruises. Seems to be subjective.
  22. Beaver tails...LOL. Canadian bacon. Quebecois meat pie. Western steak. Probably more but can't think of them now.
