Good Morning from a sunny and cool day at the beach
We are coffee drinkers and really could not start the day without it! I salute the elderly and as my DSIL pointed out to me - we are the old people!
Today is DH`s Birthday. Nothing planned other than a wonderful cake from Publix. Not going out to dinner because we are trying to stay away from people before the trip.
I was scheduled for a cut and color today but my guy has no power. So hopefully they will by Monday- if not, will get it done on the ship.
My eye injection was also cancelled and am really hoping they can reschedule the first of the week. They also have no power.
I am not complaining. I am very fortunate. Slowly hearing from friends around the state. All are ok but with damage to their homes.
Stay safe and enjoy today
Charlene
Happy birthday and many more to your darling Husband.

A quick good morning from central Texas. It is a busy morning, so I thought I'd drop in to wish everyone good morning and to repost my pictures of today's port. I hope we hear from @MISTER 67 and @jimgev soon and I hope they are safe with no injuries or much damage. I'm so many are checking in and are safe, and their many friends and relatives are safe. I hope everyone still in Ian's path remains safe, too.
In 2019, the Veendam took us to Napflion in the Peloponnese. When we couldn't rent a car, we walked around town and then took the Ho-Ho which took us up to the fort overlooking the town.
From our walk around town
The fort from town and on the hillside. We opted to skip going into the fort. Plus the view of town from the hilltop.
Town as seen from the Ho-Ho
A smaller fort on the harbor
Napflion is an interesting town. There are also several places to visit outside of town including Corinth.
I be back to finish reading the Daily after my haircut today.

Good morning everyone. My friend from Boynton Beach, Boca, Naples and Delray Beach have all checked in as safe. Still some I haven’t heard from . Watching Ian’s destruction across Florida is painful.
Today is my grandson Jared’s 17th birthday. So hard to believe he is a junior in high school and starting to think about college.Stay safe everyone,
Carol
Wishing Jared a very happy birthday

Good morning to all.
Right now it is calm here. That will change as the day goes on as we are next up for Ian’s wrath.
I don’t think we will get the same pounding as our friends in Florida but we are expected to get some flooding high winds and rain. We are under a hurricane/tropical storm warning.
it is anyone’s guess where it will make its third landfall. Speculation is near Savannah, That is just south of where we live.
Please say a prayer for us. We don’t any more drama in our lives, nor do we need any more water in our house.
Great collection of days. I have to like Maritime Day or I would not be a cruiser.
As a former New Yorker, I loved going to Broadway shows. I miss that so much. The productions here are of High School Play quality and just don’t measure up.
Happy Birthday to Confucius. A great philosopher.
I will pass on the meal and drink.
Maybe the wine.
I have not been to Majuro, Marshall Islands.
I have a hairdresser appointment this morning and then I will devote the rest of the day to packing for Barbados. However, still not sure we are going to get there. Trying to think positively.
Finished all my ironing yesterday.
I have not found my earring. Don’t understand why St. Anthony is abandoning me. Maybe I have burdened him too much!
Prayers to all our friends in Florida in the path of Ian’s wrath.
Also prayers for those on the Cares list and Cheers to those celebrating and cruising.
Hope everyone has a good day.
God Bless,
Terri
Will offer up prayers for you.
Jim.

A very early good morning from central Texas. I'm up early since it takes me longer than DH to get ready to leave. We'll be heading out for his tests about 7:30.
I will definitely celebrate Maritime Day, but wish we could celebrate it on a BHB. It's been 57 years since I saw a play on Broadway, but loved going to the theaters. Confucius was a wise man.
I like the C. S. Lewis quote.
We'll pass on the meal and the drink, but the wine sounds nice. I just hope it is not too pricey.
@summer slope Again, I'm glad you are safe. Sorry your mango tree fell over, and I hope it can be replanted.
@kazu Jacqui, try not to overdo it today with the planters. I'm sorry you had to mention the "S" word.
@dfish Debbie, getting a truck for your move is a nice step forward.
@*Miss G* I'm glad you made it safely to in spite of a bumpy flight.
We visited Majuro on June 6, 2005, on a Islands of the Pacific Theater cruise from Honolulu to Beijing on Pacific Princess. Majuro is a small atoll with some land above sea level. There is not much to see there, but we did find a local tour bus for a short tour. The Marshall Islands are a small republic, but they rely on the US for some things. They also use, or did in 2005, the US Postal Service.
Our first stop on our tour was the Peace Park at the other end of the island,
Our tour bus
Downtown Majuro
The Post Office
Bikini City Hall. We could not take a boat to Bikini, but they had this building that was part museum.

A reminder of the test bombs dropped on Bikini. I hope someone reminds Putin what the nuclear options does.

In April 2010 we stopped on our Diamond Princess cruise in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Yes, it definitely used to be and still is a resort town. It has a really lovely beach. Here is a photo as the ship arrived and anchored.
We took a tour which first took us to Bao Dai Villa, a palace on a hill built for the last Vietnamese king, Bao Dai.
Ship at anchor as seen from the hill the palace was situated on.
We had to walk back down the hill to board our bus again.
View from the bus as we headed to an embroidery studio.
Amazing the patience these young ladies have while they work on these intricate embroidered pieces.
You could purchase a souvenir here but had better be able to carry it home with you.
Their gowns include lots of their embroidery work.
This is the beach @MISTER 67mentioned across the street from some huge hotels (and his base back during the war).
Heading back to our tender dock
It was a nice day actually! I can see why people would want to vacation there in Nha Trang. Hope you enjoyed my travel photos.
Love the photos.

Thank you for the Hump Day report, Rich. I'll pass on the beer but love the other 2 days. A great reminder from Mother Theresa. I've been to Vietnam on the Zaandam but not Nha Trang. I think I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Spaghetti Pomodoro, Lamb Cutlets, and Pistachio Gelato as I enjoyed in Oosterdam's Canaletto September 28, 2017 in a dinner with @Copper10-8.

Blessings and a happy October to everyone!

Good morning friends! We went for a walk in the dark this morning around the neighborhood. Just over 2.6 miles. Looks like my part of Georgia is expecting rain Friday and Saturday from Ian. I'm not that worried about it here, but am concerned about Tampa. Hoping DGD is prepared and safe in her apartment there. 🙏
Thank you Rich @richwmnfor the Fleet Report and Daily. Watching Volendam on its journey and sorry to hear Zaandam will be hopscotching around this cruise. As long as they stay out of the storm! I'm happy to celebrate Family Day and apples as well as Johnny Appleseed. European day of languages is interesting. Agua de Jamaica is another food item I have never heard of before. Thanks for the explanation Tina @0106. A good quote for the day. Iraklion which is also commonly known as Heraklion was our port of the day on Sept. 2, 2021. Here is the link to that day's post in order to retrieve photos.
Here is what I posted about Heraklion back then.
I had to check our 2014 Prinsendam Holy Land cruise itinerary to see if I had actually been to Iraklion (Heraklion), Greece. Yes, we had on Oct. 30, 2014. So I looked at the photo book I made to see what the story was for that port. Apparently it rained very hard, but we and our two friends walked off the ship anyway. I don't remember much except I believe we stood under an overhang for a while to escape the downpour. Luckily it didn't rain hard all day so we were able to walk around the town some. This would be a great port for a re-visit so I can learn more about it and see things through fresh eyes.
Iraklion, or Heraklion Greece. This is the Koules fortress on the western pier of the harbor.
It appears that you should build with what you have, so they did. Must be a lot of rock/stone here!
The Town Hall also called the Venetian Loggia
A good place for people watching
The Cathedral of Saint Minas is a magnificent Greek Orthodox cathedral which took 33 years to build due to major political interruptions.
As we left you see the front elevation. The rain had stopped!
This is the older, smaller Saint Minas. It was too small to meet the needs of the community so they built the larger cathedral next to it.
Yes, I'd like to go back. I'm sure there's plenty of things we missed that day. Watch for Iraklion or Heraklion on your Greek itineraries.
Thanks to Roy @rafinmdfor the Care and Celebration lists. Prayers for all on the Care list as well as those affected by Fiona and Ian, flooding and wildfires, my neighbor Linda, and the people of Ukraine. Cheers for those on the Celebration list. Hooray for you all! Can't wait to hear more from Debbie @dfishon her home offer. Good luck to Terri @Cruzin Terriand DH this week. Hope it all works out for your anniversary vacation. Have a wonderful Monday!
Awsome photos thanks for posting them.

Good Monday morning! It is 50 degrees here and will be jacket weather when we head to Grand Rapids Costco for DF's eye appointment. Too cool and possibly wet this AM to work outside.
Thank you for all the work to pull the Daily Reports together. I love Gandhi's quote. Pass on the drink, waiting on the cocktail. The Grand Courtege Brut is often featured on BHB's wine list if I recall. I have not been to today's port but look forward to beautiful photos of Grecian seas.
Asking for a quick single time prayer for my dear friend from the lake. This is the first year he didn't come up and since has moved to TN. He called yesterday to tell me he broke his hip. Please say a single prayer for my friend Frank age 97 for healing No need for him to be on our list. . I texted with him last night after the Packers game and he sounded in good spirits. Photo from 2020 our last dinner together for the season at our local tavern.
Sending a prayer he has a quick healing.

Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet and Daily Report.
Happy New Year. It's important to remember that not everyone can hear, or hear well. I haven't read a comic book in years.
I can't say that I agree with the quote, although I can look up almost anything, I think it's important to remember things and not look them up (my phone number for example).
The meal sounds good, we love pasta.
Hope the drink and wine are tasty too.
Prayers for everyone in the wake of Fiona. Hope @kazuis okay.
Stay safe.
I cannot hear very well if people are wearing masks unless
they speak very loud.

Good Friday Morning Dailyites! I'm home! Had a great cruise, even though it was "not as advertised". This was the longest cruise we have taken so far, and I still wanted to stay on board for another 10 days. So I am looking forward to the 14 and 25 day upcoming cruises.
I have for years done the anytime dining, but after this cruise never will again! At least on Carnival, so I have a question, on HAL do you have to use your phone to do anytime dining? Is every event posted on your phone? Do they still have a printed daily event schedule? When I vacation, I want to be as far from a phone as I can. Poor Chuck, he never could put his phone in the safe and walk away.
After waiting more than an hour for two meals under anytime dining, we asked the Guest Services if it was possible to change to assigned time dining, which they did, found us seats at a table for 10, and one couple never showed up for any of the meals. Maybe they never made it to the ship? So we met some great people and enjoyed their company making dinner a bit more fun.
Our goal in each port was to find good coffee. Amber Cove won with Domican Republic coffee (Cafe Dominicano), second place goes to Key west, with Cuban Coffee marketed as "do stupid things faster" third was Grand Cayman at the Waffle Monkey, fourth was Grand Turk- at the Starbucks , and we never got a chance to grab some coffee in Cozumel our shore excursion was fun, but we had very little time on the island, and no chance to shop. We were the last ones back to the ship, no pier runners! But we didn't make dinner that night either.
The cats were very glad to have us home, we got pizza after leaving the suitcases off, so that's all there is to eat in the house. Loads of laundry to do, and I do have to get Chuck up to get to his doctors appointment today. It's good to be home, I missed all of you!
Welcome home.

Good morning. My father-in-law passed early this morning. My husband, his sister, and his mother were able to sit with him during his transition. He was a lovely, caring, and thoughtful man. May he Rest In Peace.
So when it rains it pours. After I hung up with my husband I checked my email to find Your Flight Has Been Cancelled. Does anyone have experience with booking through Delta but being on a KLM flight? I have spent the past hour trying to navigate both Delta and KLM trying to figure this out. Neither airline has offered options or has rebooked me on a different flight. Just a note from KLM to contact them but with a NL phone number. I tried calling Delta but got the “unusually long wait time” message. It doesn’t help that my brain is in a swirl and I am unable to think straight. Do I call Delta or KLM? Thank you to anyone who knows. 😢
Sorry, forgot to add that I am thinking of @kazu and all in its path, and @dfish for the loss of your home. Wishing for the best of all outcomes for you both. x
May your father in law RIP.
