  1. Don’t forget KS in in the middle of Condo World, where owners/renters (regular guests known to vendors) arrive early and take the best front positions. Ship Tours are usually relegated to second/thirds ranks in strictly regulated blocks. KS is not the easiest beach to enter from the sea, drop off/soft sand. If not arriving early as a private guest, to select position, move beds etc (gratuity appreciated), then consider looking elsewhere. But the bar food is good and generous.
  2. Quote “Scuba/snorkeling would be fine if there is truly awesome stuff to see” Think this experience alone would be well outside the required maximum price point of $5 pp But, do wish you luck in finding a great tour within very a tight budget.
  3. $450! Wow…. Paid less for a corner suite at the Cairo Fairmont
  4. Just out of interest, what is the per pax budget per port on a cruise to the Caribbean?
  5. Thank you, as it confirms that those not being active for a short period are automatically logged off. Until this post, one thought because Cunard were charging per day, regardless of activity, once logged in one stays connected to the server/internet.
  6. Important messages do still arrive, as the down times are very short but annoying to Cunard. For something of great import, one has always telephoned the ship, being put though to the stateroom, not leaving it to any inconsistency of Email. Once, the stateroom was unoccupied, so had a ship announcement made while one held.
  7. Fair point. What method would be an alternative excellent suggestion to ensure Cunard sits up and takes notice?
  8. Interesting posts. It appears the only resolution to the current Cunard Internet woes would be for the “purchase” system to revert back to the per minute use/pay. But Cunard would only consider to do this if complaints reach saturation point at GS or the whole system collapsed. One now will do one’s bit. On the QM for Canada in September and one used to send the occasional email and photographs to friends and family as requested. But from now on it will be sending regular mega videos and downloads to deliberately assist in draining the system. Who will join in?
  9. Barbados in town centre markets areas after dark = Stay in a group. No bling, no expensive clothing, no credit cards, no expensive phones or cameras, minimum cash in pockets and if holding a small wad hide away from sight in a restricted access position. Best to take a dinner/drinks sunset cruise. There are selections with times between 3 and 5ish hours. Remember you get the experience one pays for. Consider “Elegance”… Used for day and night cruises and never disappointed.
  10. Have purchased Barbour items for personal use and brand purchases would also make nice gifts. On last trip there were some overpriced Waterford Crystal silver trinkets (purported to be jewellery), which the OBC makes them free, but did not purchase.
  11. Why is there an import regarding the number of Launderettes? Could it be one has discovered another personal reason not to book this Mongrel?
  12. It happens, luckily it’s only a minor repair. Many manufacturers can supply a new handle (self fit) and one’s actually repairs/replaces FOC Best to contact the maker’s customer service.
  13. One can answer from personal experience regarding a Boarding Pass saga which may assist. After weks of exchanges, without success, we arrived at checkin without said documents, then when questioned about their whereabouts, one produced/presented a hard copy dossier of all the exchanges, with the words “You sort it out”. Associate left desk, the about 5/6 minutes later she returned with the passes (printed). So obviously there is could be a method for Cunard to access one’s account.
  14. Not personally, but the women from our group of friends had a ‘Girls Only” day out. They had a blast (Captain and Crew survived). Will book again.
  15. For a small family party, then consider Sailing St. Kitts. Nice people
  16. Cab @ $8.00 pp plus tip each way. 2 Beds and umbrella was $15 some time ago, think best to work on $20 total
  17. How true… Only ‘Trade’ make offers to sell.
  18. If one wishes to sail Cunard and the price is ‘X’, then so be it. One gets the cruise on one’s line of choice. Not interested in per diem, size, extras or ‘Ow Mooch?’ comparisons.
  19. Well said! One selects to cruise Cunard, regardless of price, albeit £1000 or £2000 more expensive, because one feels comfortable there. Also, booking Cunard goes a long way to eliminate the potential for any disappointments. It’s one’s money therefore it’s one’s choice.
  20. Check time lines - Without any delays Arrive 2pm Get luggage 3pm Get cab 3.15 earliest Arrive hotel and check in 3.45 Drop luggage 4pm Start drive to Rain Forest 4.15 Arrive/Start tour 5.30 - Dusk starting Sunset (dark) 7pm If workable, get the Hotel to arrange the tour cab at checkin
  21. Sometimes the start times and durations of tours can give an indication.
  22. Short walk from the Cruise Terminal
  23. Reduced mobility. Then politely suggest to combine both cocktails and restaurant with living the feeling inside the history of Old San Juan. Consider Barrachina, taking cocktails/drinks, nibbles and conversation while sitting in their Courtyard, followed by Dinner. To make it that extra bit memorable, think about their noted special seafood sharing paella (for two), all cooked from scratch, made with care for two only persons. Takes over 30 minutes to prepare by an excellent chef. Enjoy
