It is so true. today’s meal sounds good - looking forward to hearing what Tina @0106 has to say. 👍 Looks like it should be another nice day so the garden will be calling (again). The monkshood out front has just started to begin to bloom but the one in the back yard is bursting with growth & bloom. I can’t believe how tall it is this year 😱 Just when I though I was starting to get somewhere - I found more clothes and books in a closet - OMG. I don’t think the upstairs will ever get sorted and tidied up at this rate 😔 I know acronyms can be confusing so just to be clear when I say TGIF - I mean Thank God It’s Friday - not this: Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and a 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list. Yes - they are skipping Ketchikan and sailing to Victoria. HAL is flying an expert in to repair it. Reports on our “Daily” thread are that the crew is great, food delicious and Captain Smit has done a great job keeping everyone up to date.

Here are some more updates from Karen @luvteachingon her cruise (in bold). The first is from last night: We just had an update from the captain. We were supposed to depart at 4:00 PM from Sitka but we're now departing about 6:00 PM. Still working on that azipod. We are officially missing Ketchikan and heading for Victoria. Sitka today was cloudy but very mild. The sun is trying to peak through! We were the first ship to have a presentation by the Sitka Raptor Center on-board today. It was at 2:30 and attendance was small but a lot of people were still on shore. There were two presenters and they brought a great horned owl named "Owlison" to show off. It was about a 35 minute presentation and they showed it on the screen behind the presenters as well so you got some good views of the owl. I hope this program continues. It was well worth going to see. And this one arrived early this morning. I really enjoyed the Sitka Raptor Center presentation and hope it becomes a permanent fixture on those HAL ships that stop in Sitka. Our 6:00 PM update from the captain was that the port azipod is still not fixed so we are not going to Ketchikan and Victoria will be a courtesy stop of 1 hour but nobody is getting off. He anticipates we'll be in Seattle on time. Frankly, we've done these cruises so many times I'm ok with sea days and we weren't due to be in Victoria until 8 PM anyway. The crew has been wonderful, laundry I send out in the morning is usually back that evening, and the food has been delicious - maybe because I'm not cooking it? We are also really enjoying Lincoln Center Stage.

Thanks for our TGIF Daily, Rich. I definitely celebrate Pet Fire Safely day. The sign is still on our front window by the door that there are pets inside for the fire men. I didn’t know that the U.S. had a Respect Canada Day - how nice 👍. I’ve been giving lots of stuff away and more to do so I think I am celebrating National Give Something Away day every day 😉 I’m not sure about today’s quote. I think I know what he was trying to say but it doesn’t quite read that me, to me. Intrigued by today’s meal - I will have to wait to see what Tina @0106has to say. Looking forward to today’s port pics - we’ve been to Australia but not this port. The co-ordinator here for the dogs has been raising money to help get the dogs here & of course, I have been supporting her. Turns out I ended winning a prize - a liquor basket. It will come in handy for Jose’s Celebration of Life. ( I offered to give it back for her to re-use and she said no - that’s karma ) She took advantage of the delivery of the prize to check out my yard and facilities and sent pics to send to Egypt. She says they will be ecstatic. @erewhonit’s going to take a while for the toe to heal because of the way it was cut - no worries. It’s certainly better than last week but has a way to go. Maybe I need chicken soup? LOL. Wow! That’s a nice win - especially with mosquitoes tormenting you 🙂 A belated happy birthday to your DH. Normally after your carry on goes through security - there is a wine table where you go - your wine is checked and charged to your on board account and they give you stickers to put on your bottles so that it is identified corkage has been paid.

I just received an email from Karen @luvteaching She is currently on the Westerdam and has been reading the Daily every day but the internet is blocking her from signing onto CC so she can post. 😱 Here is her update copy and pasted in bold. We're having a lovely cruise (Seattle roundtrip). We left Sunday andembarkation was a breeze. Our boarding time was 12:20 and we were in our cabin by then! Ship has about 1200 passengers. In Glacier Bay yesterday the port side azipod went down. We didn't get as close to the glacier as we have in the past but it was still nice. Today our stop is Sitka and we'll be in at about 10:45 AM. which is almost 3 hours late. HAl is flying in an expert and they are hoping to get the azipod fixed. At this point, though, Ketchikan has been canceled and we'll head straight for Victoria. The Captain is Captain Smit and he is doing well at keeping us informed.

Great shots! I loved Meteora. Our day wasn’t as clear as yours though. I believe they hope to fly her out to Toronto on August 1st. The group here then has to get her into N.B. Wonderful to see France celebrating Fete National (aka Bastille Day) with a tribute to Ukraine 👍 Not sure if I want to celebrate today’s collection of days especially pandemonium - I’ve had more than enough 😉 I have to stop saying “it is what it is” apparently. LOL on Marilyn’s quote. The meal of the day sounds intriguing (sans tofu). We have been to today’s port several times. It offers other sights nearby besides Athens well worth seeing. DH had one pile of garden tools in the shed. I found one I hadn’t seen before (Jose must have bought it for him to help in the garden - who knows how long ago?) and tried it in the garden. Oh my, it was pretty good at helping me weed 👍. I’ll be trying it again today for sure 😉 Well, it was 5 days so I nervously took the special bandages off to wash and treat the toe and re-bandage. (Blasted things) and despite my best efforts, I usually lose. I am happy to see one blooming. The smallest and plainest but it hasn’t been destroyed and it’s blooming. The others look relatively healthy so far as well fingers crossed. It’s a very strange year plant & weather wise. My calla lilies have just started to bloom - they are late. And yet my dahlias already have buds on them (they are early). Very strange. It must be a combination of the rain and heat on the non rain days??? I was in serious pain and the dogs were as good as gold and like you, the leashes were still in my hand. I hobbled home but back then I had DH. Now I am very cautious (ok don’t ask me about the toe 😂) and I agree with the others - get something that will let you get an alert out. I am sorry you lost your glasses but relieved you are ok.

Two lovely itineraries - both with great scenery - whether our CC friends have chosen Alaska or Norway, we are certain they are in for some great views 👍. She also said it would be a good thing to get routine back in my life and reminded me that pets are healing. For those not familiar with the Baladi dog: OMG - stupid me - the lavender topiary was on sale big time and I decided to give it a shot! Giving my head a shake. LOL. Well, the toe doesn’t like to work in the sun, so I better head out and tackle the gardens before it gets too hot for it. It can only do so much and the weeds are laughing at me. hmm - guess we will agree to disagree - generally speaking you CANNOT use non-refundable (usually from HAL or CCL credit) in the casino. The loyalty credits are specifically marked that way on our statement with something like “not for cash or casino’. HAL has gotten much better at tracking it. I have used it for the crew incentive, HSC or gratuity - whatever you like to call it.
