  1. Thanks on the update and I understand your trepidation on those itineraries 😔 I’ll make the amendment and delighted that you have found a replacement cruise. Amazon sounds terrific. Enjoy! Happy to add it for you 🙂
  2. Oh thanks for the reminder - I need to message our co-ordinator with some questions - it won’t change the decision but I need to know more about her fear and some basics - like bed preference, is she currently crated, walked, toys, current food, etc? I’ve been too depressed trying to deal with stuff here. It sounds stupid but every time I donate or put things in bags, it’s very hard and sad. Dumb, I know. But it is what it is.; Oh dear Marcia - shades of my attempt to get home a couple of weeks ago. So sorry you are dealing with this. 😔 I hope your meal vouchers were better than mine ($10). And glad at least you got a choice of hotels. Prayers that things go smoothly today and you get home. 🙏
  3. Thanks for our Monday Daily, Rich. I’ll have to send our kid a cyber hug since he’s 2 provinces away. Listening is so important. As my mother used to say “God gave you 2 ears and one mouth for a reason”. 😉 Love the quote by Victor Hugo and guacamole. The drink and wine of the day both sound intriguing. Have to head out to donate 5 more boxes and/or bags today. I’ve lost count now on how many have been donated 😱 Hoping to get the upstairs done before Shadow gets here (assuming she can) so I can focus on her and some training as she gets better. And the garden awaits - it’s going to be hot one again today so all the plants should be happy. Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and a 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list. Have a good Monday everyone !!!!!! Stay safe and please don’t forget your 😷 when / where needed.
  4. YAY 😀 sounds like you are off to a great start 👍 So happy to hear it and enjoy 🙂 Oh dear Susie - that was my lament as the blasted things went through my garden and chomped every flower as it was about to bloom 22 years ago. DH said there was only two ways to deal with all these deer - a fence or a gun - so we got a fence 😉. but anything outside of the fence is tough to survive. The shrubs that grew before the deer got more domesticated do and the peonies and monkshood - but a lot of them are subject to deer abuse whether they are “deer resistant” or not. @Cruising-alonggorgeous flowers and pics 👍
  5. You know after the last 7 months I’ve been through a lot worse than crackers 😔 - so I guess I’m flexible right now 😉 sure I would like crackers on board but at least I read CC and LIVE threads and know they may not be available and will bring them on board with me. there’s a lot worse things in life - I’ll make note on my surveys and will improvise. Flexibility seems to be key travelling these days and for a while I think we all have to be prepared to bend.
  6. Good for you on the planning - I’ve always been reticent to use FB and relied on roll calls but whatever works? Back to my question - name of the land tour/cruise package please? Thanks.
  7. Who did you email / talk to please if you don’t mind to share? Thanks 🙂
  8. Oops 🙊. Thanks for the correction. I did mean the Social.
  9. I am kind of smiling at this. Our favourite ship was the oldest ship in the fleet. our first cruise on the Prinsendam I approached with much trepidation knowing how old she was (much older than the Volendam). Turned out to be our favourite ship in the fleet with the best itineraries offered. We sailed on her whenever we could and were saddened when she left the fleet. Wonderful crew - wonderful service and IMO that ship upped the game compared to many of the others. The Volendam, like the Prinsendam won’t have all the bells and whistles of the newer ships. If you want bells and whistles you won’t find them on this ship. What you might find instead is an incredible itinerary, great crew and a good time. By the way, we went around Cape Horn on the old Rotterdam (same class of ship) and weren’t bounced around - enjoyed that sailing very much. Keep in mind Cape Horn is also subject to King Neptune but the smaller ships can have more maneuverability than the larger ships - but that’s just my experience. whatever you decide, have a great cruise!
  10. There are 3 internet packages - Social, Surf & Premium. The Surf is only good for things like FB - not email or internet. the Premium is supposed to be faster than the Surf and theoretically permits streaming while the Surf does not. The Premium also has more mb allowed. The number of MB allowed just means it slows down - you don’t get cut off - at least not in my experience. I believe these rates are still applicable on the ships: the only one offered to purchase pre-cruise is the premium package (which is at a discount) If there are 2 in the cabin and you both have an internet package and both log in on one device each with your own log in. Otherwise it is one device at a time. So for example you can log in on any of your Ipad, smart phone, laptop, etc but you can only use one device at a time. If there are two of you and only 1 internet package then only 1 person can be on at a time. Hope this helps a bit 🤞
  11. Absolutely wonderful pics 👍 thank you so much for sharing them 🙂
  12. And on that we can agree to disagree. I follow the LIVE threads of people on board and I can tell you that several sailings are sold out that people are reporting from and there were quarantine cabins. Traditionally, from reports of people on board - these cabins are located from the mid elevator to the aft elevator on deck 4 ( I think I got that right 😉) and some have reported that they were also allocated on deck 5 in the same location. IMO (and JMO), I believe that if HAL implements the booster requirement as they are doing on the 3 trial cruises, the quarantine cabins could be eliminated. Most people fully vaccinated (meaning at least 1 booster) have no serious illness and mild symptoms. Risk would be nominal - but that’s JMO. After all, people weren’t quarantined to a different cabin for Noro - just confined to their own cabins for a day or 2.
  13. Talk about misconstruing a post 😳 I said NOTHING about entire floors. I guess I should have deleted that from your quote. there are certainly good sections of cabins reserved for quarantine currently - the cabins have been identified in numerous posts here by people who have been or are on board - and there are a fair number of them. My point was right now the ships are still reserving cabins for quarantine and cannot sell them period - in disagreement with your statement that if the ships could sell them they would. Until the ships feel that the quarantine cabins are not needed - they cannot and will not sell those cabins.
  14. A very happy anniversary to you both. Have a wonderful celebration of 28 years together ♥️ Sorry to hear about your nephew in law 😔 Prayers for a quick recovery 🙏🏻 Good news on the rest of the covid sufferers. I hope they continue to improve and are back to their regular selves. 🤞 @1ANGELCATso sorry to hear about the car. 😔. I hope the insurance company can help 🤞
  15. Thanks for our Sunday Daily, Rich. Ice cream - yum - I can celebrate that. Maritime Sea Salt Caramel in the freezer 😉 I get turned around all the time and go the wrong way but not as successful as D. Corrigan 😉. I am probably one of those that use too many emoji’s at times so I guess by not changing today I will be celebrating World Emoji day. I love that quote by Helen Keller. @0106great suggestion on fried chicken, thanks. I’m with you on the Panko crumbs 😉 @erewhonI attempted to measure that ridiculously tall monkshood this morning. It is more than 10’ high! It has never been more than 1/2 way the height of the pergola before. It’s past the roof now 😬 nice to hear from Ann @Vict0riann - so glad Pat had his bag and to hear Czaba is on board 👍 Nice to hear of staff appearances at the Meet and Greet and a Cellar Master dinner - woo hoo! Do let us know if it happens please and your impressions. If it is held in the Canaletto that is a different location for sure. Ann, I know you will appreciate this one 😉 My thoughts and prayers are with @rafinmd & @StLouisCruisersas they grieve. Well, I got a surprise yesterday. I was watering my plants and one of my hanging baskets looked very sad. It made no sense since it had been bottled (water with bottles so they drip) and was fine before. When I put the hose on it and looked in, it appeared that the roots were exposed in the earth. WTH? Took a bit out and uh oh. Yes, my Mexican birds are at it again. I hope the watering didn’t upset things. I’m wondering if the nest is by one of their offspring as it’s not a usual location. They normally nest in a much bigger pot thick with plants like the Mexican planter here on the bench. Or in a high hanging basket out front like these. Instead, the nest is in a low hanging basket which is only 14”. The birds are really tiny and so are their nests. I always put my fingers in the hanging baskets now before bottling them to make sure there are no babies moving around 😉 What will be will be I guess. Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and a 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list. Have a great Sunday everyone !!!!! Stay safe and please don’t forget your 😷 when / where needed.
  16. Well, perhaps it is rocket science 😉 Every CEO in hospitality wants 100%+ occupancy - that’s nothing new 😉 I am baffled by your post stating if they could sell, the cabin they would. There are lots of sold out cruises. I have to go to “Sold Out” often now to do the Bon Voyage threads - and yet, there are still cabins reserved for quarantine. It would certainly appear they could have sold those cabins but didn’t. If they feel they still need to quarantine people then they need cabins to do it and cannot sell them.
  17. Lovely! Happy to add it for you 👍. Could you let me know the name of your cruise & land tour 7 # of days please so I can find the right one for your Bon Voyage? Hope you have a wonderful first cruise!
  18. Safe travels & Have a great cruise! Bon Voyage.!
  19. I think you are referring to the pic above? It is not the sea food tower. It is the fruits de mer I believe (surcharge) and is meant to share with others. It is not intended for one person 😉
  20. Can’t blame you one bit for loving them - gorgeous 👍 What a nice thing our Rotary club is doing 👍 Absolutely first class! One of the things I loved about Rotary. there was more than one occasion when I left to go to the car with tears in my eyes as I was so moved. that’s what it is all about 👍 Kudos to all of you ! Oh good news on Pat getting his luggage thanks. 👍 Sorry to her about zelker’s 😔
  21. Go back and read a couple of the LIVE posts like @VMax1700 he even posted pics. No crackers. I like nice crackers with my cheese and bread sticks or melba toast don’t cut it. I plan to buy some in Barcelona although I won’t have the same choices as here. The odds of crackers making it across the pond without being broken are slim to none 😉
  22. happy to add it for you 🙂 I hope you enjoy your first cruise and have a wonderful 26th anniversary celebration on board. appreciate the tip if it’s a charter to find the itinerary 👍
  23. thanks. I understand your trepidation and glad you have found a nice B2B to replace it with. Happy to add it for you 🙂 Thanks for confirming the Koningsdam, too 👍
