  1. ♥️ thanks - I am a tad nervous that I’ll be a mess - it will be what it will be
  2. I’m escaping from here (as in get me the H out of Dodge) for a long weekend. It’s our anniversary tomorrow and I can’t do this one on my own, don’t think. I’ve done my birthday, mother’s and father’s day but this is going to be too much. Escaping to friends I haven’t seen in 4 years and other friends and my sister are joining us. My friend is prepared for tears, hugs or smiles. Bless her ♥️
  3. Sorry, I’m behind and had a bunch of posts I was going to multi quote but the day just went downhill. Maybe tomorrow at the airport? 🤞 I got a call (automated) that my new phone is being delivered tomorrow and requires a signature. Fed Ex needs the shipper to modify instructons. Apple can’t change it - I went around in circles for over 2 hours when I should have been packing and cleaning not to mention the FCL and my spread sheets. Oh well I’ll see what happens tonight. I was told it was coming from Texas so I knew it wouldn’t get here by tomorrow. Nope - Montreal. I am crossing my fingers - have left a note for the Fed Ex guy to cross the street and take it to my neighbour who will on the watch for them. Honest to Pete - what’s next?
  4. Oh NO Carol, how awful. 😔 Very worried for Sam & you. He has too many issues and I am very afraid. Huge prayers for you both 🙏
  5. No worries my friend - I was talking about Canadian airlines as I tried to say earlier (perhaps I didn’t say it well) we are affected by cancellations too, don’t get me wrong. I think they thought they could get things moving faster than they could - just like the cruise lines - just like a lot of people in the travel industry, Don’t get me wrong. I am NOT happy with the change to my flight coming home nor the flight forcing me to stay in FLL and (no disrespect intended) avoid U.S. airline carriers like the plague. I just get tired of the litigious reactions to so many things. HAL had cancelled cruises. Everyone is disappointed but no one is suing them that I know of. The travel industry is struggling to catch up and keep up in all sectors. Will I vent and scream if my flight is cancelled? Damn right I will. But I already know it’s a huge risk and have been watching for 3 days for my flight on Friday. No worries if we agree to disagree. 😉
  6. Oh my apologies Jake. Most of my cats were Siamese back in the day (Between DH and I we had 5 cats LOL) however my rescues were tuxedoes at times and they were alway evil finding something to get into. I certainly can’t say the others were blameless 😂. Tip - never teach a Siamese to play fetch (they never stop) or to flush the toilet to avoid cat litter (they love running water and will flush over and over and over 😉 But my tuxedo broke every rule in the book - constantly- reaching out to friends I heard the same thing - notorious. My sincere apologies if coloured Tucker with the same brush 😳 I honestly never thought about that. I as too upset about the phone and bag 😢 Thanks for the silver lining. I’m not good at finding them these days.
  7. Memories - in the corner of my mind. Excellent grooming job 👍
  8. Thanks Roy. I confess I am not good with problems or stress right now. I do have Apple Care but they are dinging me nearly $150 to replace it on top of the Apple Care cost. 😢 I do thanks but it will be a wait for the new phone being in Canada Aww - your are sweet. Yes they were very close - in my parking space - my purse is a favourite from Spain and I only found it in one spot. I doubt it can be replaced either. I’m not materialistic but it was one DH and I chose together. ‘Sigh I am not Jack but I have had several “winter” dogs - Maverick, Marley and Fox to name a few. The key (for me) was brushing, keeping them groomed to thin the double coat and making sure they didn’t spend too long outside. and like @Heartgrove said - they do blow their coats. Fond memories with his pictures ♥️ I had a temperature gage that I used faithfully. And on normal days, they loved to be out with me while I planted and worked on the planters. On high hot days - we did a mini walk on the neighbours grass to satisfy them and they were in the house except for “business” and few minutes of outsided. I hear you. If it makes you feel any better we have no sidewalks on our street. Pretty much, Ann. They moved in too close - realized they hit something and backed off some fast and took off. No license plates any more in New Brunswick on the front of cars so it is a lost cause. Can’t believe this. OMG so sorry to hear this - prayers for your DH 🙏🏻 Brand new (for me) Ann - got it to get through to the hospital easier for Jose. (Doors were locked and you had to phone. My very old, ancient Samsung was burping so I changed. It was less than 3 months old 😔
  9. Thanks for our Hump Day Daily, Rich. I love to splurge on really good onion rings - a treat and hope that the world helps save the rainforests every day. Love the quote - I’ve been trying to follow it but not very successfully sometimes 😉 Very busy morning appointment wise and a ton of stuff to do inside and out today. 😬 Had my eye on a puppy last night but sadly, I think it’s too soon and wouldn’t be fair to the dog 😢. Happy Social Security birthday to you Roy 🙂 Celebrate today and tomorrow 🙂 I LOVE this 👍 Poor Tana 😢 I hope and pray today will be a much better day for her 🙏🏻 Encouraging news, Melissa He remains in my prayers 🙏🏻 Encouraging news 🤞 🙏🏻 Tika is gorgeous ♥️. I think Sam will be one lucky boy to have a playmate. Bless you for rescuing. How very kind of you to take your friend and her cats in ❤️ So glad to hear you are feeling better. To say I am happy you are out of covid jail is an understatement. Hopefully your DH can join you soon 🤞 Oh NO! Your poor DS 😔. Sadly, you’re right and this topic never goes away. I don’t live in the U.S. so you have to keep that in perspective, but I disagree with suing the airlines. Speaking as one whose flight had to be changed since it was cancelled, I “get” it. I’m not a fan of Air Canada but they have taken measures cutting flights to be able to service the remainder. They DON’T know how many staff they have because of covid, etc. It not only keeps staff from operating it can also delay pilots from getting their flying hours back they need to fly the planes. @Crazy For Cats loved your meme today. I saw this one on tuxedo cats (little devils) and thought I would make your day. I started this morning and just finishing so I will have some catching up to do. Just too many errands/appointments and just as I was on the last one, I put my purse down to put something in the car and someone ran over it. My Iphone is toast 😭 Truly depressed. What else can go wrong? I won’t say how long I’ve been on the phone to Apple. How do you turn off location when the phone is destroyed??? My day has now been sucked up. Sort of like the gas prices. Prayers for those on the Care list and for those that need them and a 🥂 to those on the Celebration list. Have a great Wednesday everyone and hope it is better than mine 😉 Stay safe and please don’t forget your 😷 when/where needed.
  10. YAY 🙂 Happy to hear he is recovering 👍 Hopefully now you see a change 🤞 Thanks for your investigation into the TA 😄
  11. From what I have read on the boards from people who have / are going through it - you are moved to the quarantine section to a different cabin. Quarantine for 5 days and they start to test. When you are negative you are released or at 10 days whichever comes first. If you have Have it All, they apply it for beverage purchases even though it is technically room service. Oops edited to say - I was posting at the same time as Sharon - she’s been through it so read her post and you can disregard mine as hers is much better detail.
  12. Yes, I know - I looked too when I was looking for options after our Norway cruise. I have a feeling November will be fine. At least I sure hope so. Oosterdam just started up not very long ago so…hopefully things improve 🤞
  13. I’m on her in November Ann (along with Colin and a whole bunch of others). I’ll be doing a LIVE thread and will certainly let you all know. I’m hoping things will be much improved 🤞 If they are not, I might not be back on her next May 😳
  14. I think they got that idea from the Prinsendam although their layout is not quite the same. 😉 The Prinsendam’s NS all had a bathroom with sink, shower/bath and separated by a door, a separate toilet and sink. ideal for guests indeed 👍
  15. Hi Dot! I think cancelling your Volendam cruise is a wise decision - who knows how long that ship will be housing Ukrainian refugees? (I hope it is not that long but….) Your new cruises sound lovely and I will happily add them for you 🙂
  16. Glad someone had some success 👍 No more of this variety for me - any chili needing overwintering to bear fruit is a write off in my book 😉 Sorry to say - we weren’t on with you even though we went to Rouen in 2018 on our Rotterdam cruise. We were on the Prinsendam’s River Explorer cruise in 2019. Absolutely love it ♥️ I would certainly HOPE and EXPECT they would waive the service charge on quarantine cabins! Sheesh! Yikes on your rain and flooding, Gerry 😱 I saw pictures yesterday and just horrendous. Hope your home is safe. I sure hope that filling lasts a very long time - and certainly long after our cruise 🤞
  17. Really surprising and disappointing. 😢 😢 😢
  18. Oh NO. Your poor DH and Tana. My prayers for Tana continue and have added your DH 🙏🏻 @StLouisCruisers ditto. I hope tomorrow is finally freedom day 🤞
  19. Agree Terri, Rouen is not a cruise port however it is easily reachable from other cruise ports - like Le Havre - about an hour’s drive IIRC and well worth it.
  20. Thanks for the Tuesday Daily, Rich. Yay on Summer Solstice and summer 👍 Hopefully it clears up and we can celebrate the day outside here 🤞 I’ll pass on the other 2 days 😉 I love that quote from Shakespeare’s 12th Night ♥️ Ooh a white wine today - yay. Looking forward to hearing about it. We’ve been to Rouen a couple of times and adore the picturesque spot. Aside from the beauty, it’s full of history. Any Joan D’Arc fans will find the historic spot where she was burned at the stake. The Rose Line (remember the Da Vinci code?) really exists and the marker starts in Rouen. Really worth visiting at least once if not twice 👍 I’ll see if I can find some pics but this give an idea (the clock is amazing). I decided to try to get some stuff done on my list yesterday but one thing took much longer than I had planned. After hearing rave reviews from Jose’s BFF and wife, I decided it would be wise to make more jam. Since rhubarb is available and strawberries just came out - yup - rhubarb strawberry jam. New recipe & I had too much fruit. Talk about a close call when it hit the boiling stage: Looks like it has set already so I will be ‘forced’ to do a taste test today to make sure it is suitable for others 😉 I agree with Rich @richwmn - I wouldn’t go to Paris for a day. It deserves several days to explore. DH and I were lucky enough to go post cruise by train from Rotterdam and very much enjoyed our 5 day stay. Looks like it may clear up today - sure hope so, my contractor is coming today unless it rains (can’t work on electricity in the rain 😉). Like the rest of my life, my house has started to fall apart and needs some work. Prayers for everyone on the Care list & those that need them and a 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list. Have a good Tuesday everyone - a friend of mine posted this and truer words were never spoken. Enjoy every minute of your day today. Stay safe & please don’t forget your 😷 when / where needed.
  21. There’s no tax unless the ship is within waters where the port levies taxes. (Only applicable in certain spots). In international waters there is not tax. So, and $11 drink + 18% gratuity - just under $13 for a drink.
  22. Wow, I am surprised at this. That’s not like the Captain Van Eerten we have cruised with. (I am correct that you have Captain Rens Van Eerten, I believe). That’s disappointing. I thought you would have a great experience with him based on my past cruises.
  23. Have to say I agree with you - HAL’s laundry is a bargain (even if you don’t get free laundry 😉) and well done. Glad you are home safely. Hope you can manage through “great trip withdrawal”. Yay on the roof 👍 Good to hear. But DAM on the shelter manager & a staff member being positive. That’s going to make the shelter take a hit 😔. Hope it doesn’t add more work you you? 🤞 I don’t blame you for being tired and fear you are going to be a LOT more tired before the beach is done. 😔 😉. But, I’m sure you will have fun 🤞 Glad the medication should help. I hope your DH is feeling a LOT better soon 🤞 @dfishnot sure what happened to my quote of your new angel (aka niece). She is gorgeous and looks so alert. Whatever her name may be, welcome to the world, little princess 🙂
  24. We always preferred mid ship, too. DH didn’t like vibration and if the weather was not conducive on the verandah and you were hosting people, the regular SA’s are larger cabin wise for that. that’s why it’s good we have choices 👍 - Different strokes 😉
  25. If your OBC is from HAL (or the CCL stock credit) it is always non refundable. OBC from a TA is usually refundable. OBC you purchase yourself is always refundable. When you get on board, take a look at your preliminary statement. Any obc that has the wording similar to “not for use in the casino or cash” is non refundable obc. (The wording might change but you get the jist). OBC with no conditions listed next to it is refundable.
