Thanks 👍 It’s been my experience (generally speaking) that when there is scanning in the port - there is none on the ship. And yes, there are often ‘duty free’ stores after the security. And yes, I have seen lots of passengers make purchases and take it on board or come back from the ship and make purchases. You are not missing a thing 😉

Thanks for our TGIF Daily, Rich. Interesting collection of days. Love vegetables so I’ll happily celebrate. The furthest road trip I am taking today is a trip to a friends for a lunch together. 😉 No flip flops in our house - I abhor them. But, I do have one stack of Birks and am happily wearing them now that the good weather is here. Love the Aristotle quote and the meal suggestion for today is always a good one. Went to Manzanillo many, many years ago (decades) when I was much younger and single and explored a lot of Mexico. Loved it! Glad everyone is safe from the storms. A huge one rolled through my home town where my sister lives. They are ok but their neighbour’s pergola is now in their front yard! It was pretty destructive - a pic from the paper on a downed tree. We are fated for the stormy weather here for the next couple of days. Lots of rain & t-storms. No serious warnings yet thankfully although they are saying to watch the Bay of Fundy area. (What else is new? 😂) I guess that means I either clean, sort more clothes or cruise plan. Gee, I wonder which it will be? 😝 My climbing hydrangea is teasing me holding off on blooming. And my clematis is teasing me too. The first few blooms just popped out. those little sticks you see are the old branches. I don’t dare remove them as this huge clematis follows them each year to climb despite the other supports. Thanks to everyone yesterday for all the fantastic water fall pictures. 👍 @marshhawkreading about your phone issues - that happens here too. I don’t know how these crooks steal our numbers to make it look like we are calling but they do. Is it possible to just change YOUR phone number so that you will no longer get the calls or the blame? One planter in honour of DH - he always bought a pile of hibiscus and I grumbled under my breath. But I bought one for one of his favourite planters for him. I don’t think the regular one is that hot. (At least it wasn’t for DH - but remember his definition of hot and mine are different 😉 I didn’t eat the stuff). Might be worth a shot to give it a try and take your back up.

And thanks to your warning from before, it’s on my list too. Can’t have a wine and cheese get together without crackers 😉 Have to check, but I am hoping I can buy some in Barcelona and avoid having them broken on the flight over. I will be doing some googling 😉 DH liked hot too and could always rely on Sambol. He asked for it the first day in the MDR and the crew had fun with him giving him different kinds. They even gave him their own which was quite hot - even by Jose standards. The regular sambol is in the Lido and readily available in the MDR with a quick request. It’s one big plus on HAL for those that enjoy it. Just in case this is of help.

Aww - thanks Sharon. I have another heart as well which also has ashes in it. (It’s the blue thing next to the bear). It sits next to the bear and will not travel out of fear of it being broken. As soon as we saw it, my friends and I both said at once - that’s Jose! The colours were Jose - he loved bright colours and it looks quite Mexican. His son has the matching urn with some ashes in it. thanks. Is your rhodo already in bloom? If you don’t mind me piping up - can you wait until the Fall? It’s late in the season to move it IMO. Especially if you have any kind of heat there and growth on the plant. I would wait until the Fall when it is more dormant and doesn’t go into shock. Hope you are successful whatever you decide 🤞 Thanks - he will be coming with me wherever I go 😉 The heart inside with the ashes was only attached by a ribbon. I had my jeweller fix it with a lobster call clasp so I can remove the heart when I need to wash the bear. I am pretty sure it will need washing down the road 😆 Thanks Graham. When I saw the bear, it was perfect. Jose was kind and gentle just like a teddy bear. I am very happy with it. Thanks. We had one of those idiots two years ago. they didn’t wreck sprinklers but made deep gouges in our lawn. We got rid of them. the company I am using this year was excellent last year. I think it’s just a matter of getting it straightened out 🤞 The boss was out and I didn’t want to play phone tag so will call him in about 10 minutes when he should be in 🤞 Glad to hear you didn’t have any deformities 👍 Now let’s hope you are feeling much better FAST & don’t test positive 🙏🏻. I’m waiting for the 2nd part to happen 😉 Wasn’t very happy with my lawn guys yesterday They pitched the wrought iron supporter (which was on my sidewalk portion) you see below next to the geraniums and azalea. Onto the azalea. I’m going to take a few deep breaths before I call and complain. Haven’t been pleased this year and keep working to correct things but this is the icing on the cake. You don’t throw things on my plants😡. I better wait until I have more coffee first 😉 My rhodo in the back has been struggling for a couple of years and I was happy to see some blooms on it this year. Now to figure out what is eating it? Well, I am following in Roy’s @rafinmd’s footsteps. Our Norway cruise was cancelled on the Volendam so I booked next year on the N. Statendam ending in Rotterdam along with some CC friends. I discovered that there was a sweet sale on the Oosterdam sailing out of Barcelona 2 days later &, I could use points to get there 👍. So, I’ll fly from AMS to BCN on the 28th and hop on the Oosterdam on the 30th. I will truly be solo on that one not “knowing” anyone (yet). I was really worried about my dahlias. They didn’t seem to be sprouting and I was afraid with everything that happened I had been cursed with a black thumb 😬 Looks like it was just not warm enough to suit them as they are now coming along 👍 Hopefully they will do well for Jose’s Celebration of Life later one 🤞 @Heartgroveyou are in my thoughts and prayers today for the funeral 🙏🏻 Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them & a 🥂 to those on the Celebration list. Thanks for the suggestion - unfortunately I tried that aspect and was told most students are using on line now and are not interested in books 😔 Believe me I have tried every avenue. Jose was mentoring a nurse who is working on becoming a Nurse Practitioner so she was gifted with his medical equipment and bags and took a number of his books so, at least some have been put to use. I couldn’t think of a better person to give his equipment to. All she had was a stethoscope and that equipment is very expensive.

Same thing for us - on that cruise IIRC, the performance was in the afternoon - very nice too. the others were always at 11 pm. Including our last cruise in 2019. Alwas enjoyable.

Princess’ covid positives seem to be high - but that could be just me. And your friends could have gotten it in a port, on the plane, in the airport - the list is endless. I will tell you a reverse story - my friends started cruising last Fall. They have taken at least 4 cruises (not 7 day cruises), travelled to Las Vegas, stayed in Hawaii, etc and they have not tested positive with all of that travelling - so who knows? I think it’s the luck of the draw and your immune system. I myself went into our cesspool of a hospital for 6 months, tested regularly to protect my friends in my “bubble” and the my DH and the health care workers and never tested positive. So, who knows. And testing positive is not a big deal - except for the inconvenience of being quarantined which is silly now IMO if you are fully vaccinated (I mean boosters when I say ‘fully’). Those fully vaccinated do not get very ill at all and only less than 1% require hospitalizations. (And they usually have pre-existing conditions which can cause complications). everyone has to go with their gut and their own risk tolerance I think. I suspect a cruise ship is safer than a crowded Big Box store or a cramped puddle hopper (prop plane) but that’s JMO.

The medical library who had agreed to take his medical books when he retired is still refusing them - and the college, etc. Seems kind of crazy to me but it is what it is.

It is. He did it for just that reason and if Jose is looking down he’’d be smiling. There is still a ton of camera equipment here and DH’s wish was for his son or my BIL to have it. Sadly, his son doesn’t share his Dad’s love of photography or even Jose’s fastidiousness in dress so I hope my BIL will come back when he can to take what he wants and maybe either a) find a good place to donate it or b) help me sell it. I prefer the former. there are 7 book cases on Jose’s shelves in his office full of lenses, cameras, filters, etc. I just finished organizing them two days ago. It took a while. 😂 😆 I feel for you. Trust me, doctors are the worst patients ever - DH was rarely sick but OMG if he was - talk about moaning and groaning and definitely grumpy. Any ear plugs? You might need them 😉 I find most men are grumpier as patients than women..
