  1. I’ve always seen the Mariner discount simply posted as OBC with the words “loyalty” next to the credit.
  2. Thanks. LOL on your last sentence. i doubt the Front Desk would know either or worse, would give an answer that’s incorrect 😆 😂
  3. Interesting indeed. What ship was that Dave out of curiosity? I’m trying to figure out how it will work on my upcoming cruise. I have both refundable and non refundable and hoping as long as I don’t exceed the refundable I will be able to use it for the casino? Not sure how i’m going to be able to find out.
  4. Slight clarification. If the OBC is refundable (OBC you bought or from most TA’s) then yes, you can. If it’s from HAL - no you can’t. At least not on the ships I’ve been on and others who have reported here on CC. You USED to be able to but it seems the computer system has caught up. The machine will accept the card, OBC will be charged and then you will see a reversal a day later. When you look at your statement the OBC that can’t be used in the casino says “not for use in the casino” In the old days it didn’t matter - now it appears to. Definitely check first. YMMV
  5. Thanks for our Monday Daily, Rich. I like an ice cream soda but it’s way too damp and cold here for one today. We need some of that heat wave others are getting 😉 I am sure the mosquitoes will multiply with all this rain. As if they weren’t vicious enough this year in the garden 😬 Love bald eagles. They are rarely seen here but we did have a couple one year that liked my trees. Quite the treat. I wasn’t allowed to take the cats to work back in the day, but as long as a kennel wasn’t involved, they travelled beautifully in the car. They moved here with me in the car and took a few trips two provinces away. They loved the pampering they got and were very good. I like that quote today a lot. Love drumsticks but none on hand today. Late to the party today - a very early dentist appointment. Oh well, at least it’s over with 😉. I considered stopping a one of the garden centres on the way home to see if there were any sales - still closed. Just as well. I probably would have had my card declined like this: @dfish a new niece - how lovely and so exciting 👍 @StLouisCruisersI hope Tuesday yields better results for you 🤞 @Seasick Sailorthanks for your post yesterday. I was feeling like this yesterday 😉 Sadly, that dead horse is still being beaten. I’m ignoring and someday there will be a way to repay the courtesy 😉 👿 What an absolutely lovely post ♥️ Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them & a 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list. Have a great Monday everyone !!!! Stay safe & please don’t forget your 😷 when / where needed.
  6. DAM on your entertainment and the Gala dinner 😞 Hope it improves - FAST
  7. So sorry to hear this Melissa. My continued prayers for your DH’s nephew 🙏🏻. He’s in for a long haul, I fear 😔 Oh NO! So sorry to hear this, Sandi 😞. I hope today’s test clears you both from covid jail 🙏🏻 So sorry to hear this 😔 My continued prayers for Buddy 🙏🏻 So glad his sisters have medical expertise and could catch the problem and help Buddy 👍 I’m a bit late - sorry. A belated very happy birthday to Loren 🙂 Don’t worry about your current limited mobility. I’m sure your DH enjoyed every bite and enjoyed himself 👍 @richwmn love the new thread title. The old and the new combined 🙂

No matter which itinerary they have chosen, we hope they enjoy all the wondrous sights offered & have a great time in ports and on board their Blue Hulled Beauties. And, of course we wish them fair winds and smooth seas. 9. Thanks for our Sunday Daily, Rich. A happy Father’s day to my father and dear husband in heaven and a very Happy Father’s Day to all of you! Juneteenth is a day I join in celebrating even though I live in Canada. I like today’s quote but will pass on chickpeas thanks 😉 It looks like another icky day out there. But, I’m going to try to accomplish something today whether it be inside or out. My plans for yesterday fell apart. Spent a few hours with Jose’s BFF and his wife. He loved the things I took and said I was acting on Jose’s behalf choosing so well. I felt happy at the time but, once I was home I was tired and sad. A part of grief, I guess. Not planning on any visits today so hopefully today I will get something done. @StLouisCruisersrest is good - it will help you both recover. Hoping you are out of covid jail soon 🤞 Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and a 🥂 to those on the Celebratory list. Have a great Sunday & Father’s Day everyone !!! Stay safe & please don’t forget your 😷 when / where needed.
  10. Good choice if you had reactions 👍 I luckily had no reaction to my Pfizer’s vaccines other than a slightly sore arm - just like any other vaccine.
  11. There can be some rocking and rolling out of and coming back to San Diego. I don’t think it matters the time of year. When we went, despite the warnings, the way out was fine but on the way back as we were nearing San Diego could you could feel some motion of the ocean. No question if it happens you will ‘feel’ it more in the aft balcony. I did not find it bothersome but was mid ship not aft. You will be fine with this if you like TA’s. You will probably find more activities than on TA’s as well. For example on ours, we had an excellent lecturer (the room was packed) who talked about our ports, the history of the people, the culture and even pearls. All very well done. There were ladies from Hawaii teaching hula dancing, drum playing, etc. It was fun to watch even if you didn’t join in. no, you are not missing anything. The suite perks are not much other than more real estate unless you go to the high end ones. Frankly, on any cruise of this length on any ship, most of the demographic is going to be older due to the time required for the trip. There will certainly be some “younger” ones who can take that length of time off work but generally speaking the demographic will be older. Age is not the issue - it’s how young at heart they are 😉 I know this question has been answered for you (no self serve laundry) but I wanted to add that you can ask for your clothing to be washed in cold water and even dried in delicate. There is a comment part on the laundry order where you can indicate instructions. HAL’s laundry is a great deal (I’ve cruised on other lines and know what they charge) and it is VERY well done 👍
  12. Interesting - I asked this same question (in reverse - my first 3 were Pfizer). The reply I got was there is no clinical proof that switching improves immunity. It had been thought that it did but that has been discounted now & the latest is to stick with what you had. So, I got Pfizer again. (My pharmacist had both Pfizer and Moderna). Europe requirements are now actually 270 days from your last vaccine / booster. Still 180 days if you recovered from covid.
  13. @Heartgrove your sister’s funeral sounds perfect and like it suited her personality so well. ♥️ Prayers for your brother 🙏🏻 I resemble that remark of your friends and know exactly how you feel 😉 I have the same problem doing a lot of Jose’s stuff. You are not alone.
  14. Thanks for the Saturday Daily, Rich. I’ll pass on fishing & picnic days today. I celebrated International Panic Day bright and early when I got an email that my flight had been cancelled and I had been moved to a flight I wouldn’t do. 40 minutes later and it’s all fixed. I not keen on the new one but it’s the best of 2 bad options 😉 I definitely have to get more positive about this flight! Not sure if I agree with today’s quote completely. I love a good sub now and then (albeit with some different meat). Thanks for the dressing ideas, Debbie.@dfish On the road again today to visit and gift some stuff to DH’s BFF and, if the weather would make up it’s mind (is it going to rain or not???) maybe get a bit of gardening done assuming I am not too tired from visiting and tending to other matters. @ger_77thank you so much for your recipe yesterday. I have it saved for later this summer. @aliaschiefBruce - you wore out Lana? Wow - Good for you two - not a small accomplishment indeed 😉 Oh dear Ann. I hope it is not covid. Either way - so sorry you are sick 😢 Take care of yourself please. As our wine expert - my attempt to make you smile: Packing? Your lovely trip is nearly over 😔 I feel your pain. Safe travels to you both. Oh Melissa - what a relief and a blessing indeed. Such good news - thank you for letting us know. My prayers will continue 🙏🏻 for healing and a quick recovery. Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and a 🥂 to those on the Celebratory list. Have a good Saturday everyone!! For those caught in the heat wave, try to stay cool and dehydrated. Stay safe & please don’t forget your 😷 when / where needed.
  15. What a great trip you have planned 👍 Hoping you enjoy your time pre-cruise in lovely Copenhagen and have a fantastic cruise! Looking forward to your reports when you have time (or wifi). Bon Voyage! Have a great cruise and a WONDERFUL time !!!!!!
  16. What a lovely time of year to visit Canada & New England 👍 Weather should be lovely and lots of flowers in bloom! We hope Crazy For Cats has a wonderful time exploring the ports, enjoying the scenery and on board their BHB. And of course, we wish them fair winds & smooth seas. Bon Voyage to Zaandam - 7 day Canada/New England: Crazy For Cats - B2B with July 2nd, hoping you have a great birthday celebration for your DH on board! Bon Voyage Crazy For Cats !!!!!! Have a great cruise and a WONDERFUL time !!!!!
  17. Land and Sea? So a land portion - is the land portion before or after the cruise? How many days is the land portion and how long is the total time or alternatively, just give the name of the cruise - thanks. Once I have the details I’ll be able to get it added.
  18. I am going back in time but I remember this question being asked and several people posted that they had gotten exceptions. I believe the recommendation was to contact HAL in advance of the cruise. Exceptions have certainly been made for medical reasons.
  19. Oh dear 😔 I am so sorry to hear that you and your family have been hit with covid. 😢. I hope you can get through it quickly and on the road to recovery FAST 🙏🏻 Yikes! You’re right - never a dull moment. OMG.
  20. how lovely to have friends to celebrate with 👍 I have a feeling it was a wonderful day 🙂 Happy Birthday Susan. I hope the day just got better and better I am so sorry you are still in prison - so glad you can find some joy in Sadie 👍. She is gorgeous 💕 and I agree - she has highlights - gorgeous girl 💗 I am just without words on this horrific accident 😢 Thank God the neighbours could help successfully. Prayers for him and his recovery and for his mother’s care now 🙏🏻 So very sorry to hear this sad news, Melissa
  21. We are sailing in November this year. A CC member is considering booking and came on the roll call. She stated her PCC said the ship was nearly sold out. So, it appears that the capacities are going up.
