  1. Both of these lobster dinners, at the Island restaurant and on the catamaran(?), look much better than what we were served in Luminae on BEYOND in Nov,,,( sorry no pic but was tiny, although sweet)
  2. 2 days NOLA ..very good, but we are booked on Ascent for Jan 2024..Need something later in the yr...but not during NOLA rainy season(?) I have been to NOLA a few days for a land based conference, but thought it would be fun to cruise there with dh..We'll keep looking..just hope X stays with Connie..updated or not..ok with us. But we would need AQ Class ..suites too pricey!
  3. Excellent review! Thanks for sharing. Silhouette is one of our favs over the years. How much was Lawn Club Grill? Did you go on port nights? Loved the idea abt the cold washcloths in a baggie...
  4. Just curious, have you actually eaten the recent version of a lobster tail on X.. ? sweet but teenie weenie! young wealthy cruisers tend to enjoy excellent food..which does not include 3 tiny burnt to a crisp veggies at Luminae or bologna for dinner at the buffet. X food and bev could still serve decent QUALITY food..just prepare smaller QUANTITIES based on usage of the venue and waste! That's for food mgmnt to figure out....not use as an excuse! disatisfaction by experienced X cruisers does not make them " greedy gobble gannets" (?) or folks needing to move to Carnival..heard they and other lines are managing food costs and supply issues much better
  5. wonder if there will be some type of lamb leftovers in the buffet next day for lunch or dinner ..stew? hope crew do not get demerits if they are caught trying to assist guests with workarounds to the new policies.! Your lamb looked great so at least mdr served something folks might like. ( I love lamb but only if it is cooked very well done so I skip eating it on ships or restsurants which serve it fairly rare)
  6. best plan.. book 2 AQ Class cabins with 1 child in each with an adult..no switching games needed or book 2 reg cabins and split uo the kids or book one cabin that allows 4 person Occupancy. buy wife a pass to thermal suite... or book a suite where u could all go to BLU if space is available or all go to Luminae . wife can buy a few day or full cruise thermal suite pass. the game plan you suggest is not workable or the way it's supposed to work..with good reason
  7. we booked EDEN and FINE CUT for ASCENT...so far (never tried either one before on E Class) also booked 2 Celeb excursions for Tortola : .nothing special just a day in the sun..., St Kitts/ Nevis: ..includes tour, beach and lunch. waiting for spa and Keristase res to open.. Enjoying ur review...very descrptive and great photos.. thanks!
  8. looked at Connie from Tampa for late next yr.. 9 nights. Includes New Orleans and W Carib. Prices for suites on this itin are sky high, and even AQ Class which we like, was kind of pricey..There was a discount sale listed for 2nd passenger but we decided to wait awhile before making this our next pick ..After Ascent comes on line maybe other E class prices will fall...
  9. great start... following. we have cruised on Summit a number of times..Hawaii, Bermuda, Carib.. heard the upgrades were well done
  10. Seeing and smelling it served would really kill my appetite! Bleh... Is that really food, perhaps a delicacy in some parts, or flavoring for broth???
  11. We won't be buying a bottle of wine anywhere. As a diabetic I limit alc intake and do not have wine at dinner. My spouse will have a glass or two with the main entree. One thing we disliked recently about Royal C, was the unending push to sell.... We hosted a special b day celebration in a Soecialty venue for our extended family. Before the cake/ desserts were served, we were interrupted by a push to buy some type of wine aerator. Very rude and low class.. Sad if X is following suit!
  12. Glad you had a great cruise and the Caps lunch as a nice bonus. I bet you will be a repeat cruiser with them and have brought them many new fans,. Looking forward to your next reviews!
  13. Love the birds...ugh for the monkeys., in St Kitts they come right up to the tour trams,,not for me! But they are interesting creatures..I'll stick with the cats! As for chicken nuggets at the buffet..great for kids. Our grands love them, pizza and pasta with butter! Many nice restaurants where we live, offer the nuggets and buttery pasta.. keeps kids happy while the grown ups enjoy their meals.
  14. Have not been reading such great things about farmed salmon lately Tilapia is not on our menu, some other fish have tiny worns..gross Fish is very expensive..we look for flounder, Fl Grouper or Mahi as a treat
  15. have safe trip home you looked marvelous..I want this dress! hope to see you again
  16. We are fans of the Cabanas on Royal and X.. some come with a great lunch buffet, island transport drinks, the filled cooler, great service and delightful fan... love the ones where u can enter the water directly from the cabana.. the ones you posted were more upscale but we like the ones X/ Royal offers. Pricey but worth it to us. we treated dtr and her husb to share one ( coincidentally booked the smne cruise once) They were in heaven!
  17. you are a great guide but also a diplomat...hope you may join the ones in black robes...after you make alit of $$$ in pvt practice!
  18. drink looks so cool and refreshing . not on my type 2 diabetic plan but I do splurge here and there..maybe do this one instead of an iglu or mudslide based on your review.. we will def be booking Connie ...hope she stays in the fleet. X owes you for drumming up business! buffet works for me nice veggies , salads ..even some limited meat.. It' s not an every night choice for us!
  19. amazing photography.. fav is sea lion, all water / sky shots are great . love the flowers.. we have the same ones now coming into bloom here in sw FL.. Can you ID some of the luscious looking drinks? What shops are open at the pier? there were slim pickings when we were there awhile ago! much prefer Havensight!

  21. fellow diabetic /t2 low sugar not always low carb i splurge here and there but pass on most desserts.. big weakness is the IGLU at Baccii ( 1 per cruise)
  22. thanks for the pics and commentary..you are a great guide! we just booked EDEN and FINE CUT for our 7 night Ascent Cruise. 5 other nights for: BLU , Buffet and Burger Grill... We will not starve, as long as the QUALITY of what is offered is good, fresh and well prepared. Veggies at dinner restaurants need an upgrade..On Beyond in Luminae, they gave 2 carrots or aspagus..they were def burnt offerings, so portion size was not a problem. I often order dbl veggies and few carbs ..but these veggies all went to the trash. pile Does anyone renember the fresh grilled salmon at the Spa Cafe... folks lined up early. It was the best Salmon on the ships!
  23. typical for spa cafe.. there's cheese and the egg thingies in the past I've had great fresh salmon salad, not over ripe fruit. and very dense nut and fruit muffins or cake......dh usually rolls eyes!
