Avid Celebrity Cruiser Looking for Suggestions
hcat replied to peachcreamsicle's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Oasis is great for kids and active adults, but not an "elegant" experience. Our adult dtr found it a bit disappointing and shopping mall like! But our son in law liked the zip line and flo rider.. We are seniors and did not enjoy it very much.... too big, crowded in most places, tickets to reserve and lines to wait on. The Diamond cocktail hr was an exceprion..very well done! Daytime, we hid out aft in the adult only area. Dining on Celeb is much better; even the mdr is better than specialty on Royal in our opinion. even with skme cutbacks Lots of family friendly activities on X..teen/ kids club, stem, parties etc Something for everyone. What about something including new Eng, Bermuda and Charleston along US East Coast? trip should focus on the desires and wishes of the parties being treated! maybe one nice dinner together at a Specialty restaurant.. if SIL wants extras she can book and pay for them sep. just my thoughts! -
hope u have a great day! we were on one of the first Royal/ Celeb ships to dock at Crown Bay.. It was a long nervous taxi ride to town and back, and not very good shopping or food compared to Havensight! seems you found a way out!
-
that's a far trip.. but great beach & snorkel trai we heard there is a ferry right at or near Crown Bay to a nearby beach/ island/ bar .....if you decide on that or somethiing closer..would love to hear abt it..
-
is this Crown Bay? what are your plans for St Thomas?

looks tight..how old are the kids? our grands are 7 and 3 so.it could work..but with older kids..seems a bit tight and close..eso if one in upper area needs to go to the bthrm

We find most of the Hoppen design and decor to be fake and sterile. We usually have all the ugly fake coral and unusable vases removed asap.. That's why we hope to be able to.order a few floral displays for ASCENT... but so far no luck! I will try to bring at least one with me but that gets messy! suite layout looks nice but those stumps are just wierd!

hcat replied to GenerationX's topic in Celebrity Cruises
great review.sorry it will end soon..great photos, stories and your fashions! We love the CLUB we have enjoyed so many cool shows, great music and activities there..and agree that Celebrity has really stepped up with the quality of shows and musical diversity on E Class..someone is getting it right! -
glad you made it.. pleasant colors and decor in the cabin!

We did a 5 day on BEYOND in Nov 2022..sky suite. out of Port Ev. had 2 ports and got off at Cozumel.. We booked it ( short cruise) to use up all our fcc from cancelled cruises..lift and shifts efc.. AND to avoid long quarantine in case we got Covid. great cruise no issues. I think you made a good choice. we have ASCENT booked for 7 days in 2024..AQ Class IV ..not bad price..everything included.

When Did Celebrity remove the included Alcoholic drink package?
hcat replied to pattycake08's topic in Celebrity Cruises
the "old" plan where you could book "good, better or everything" offered more choice in pricing.. Our last few bookings were/are still all included..a waste for us.. We do not need extra wifi on top of our E + minutes or the premium drinks.. (latest one only has classic drinks). -
Fron our experience on EDGE, it feels more spacious in an IV with the bed by the bath.. Bed by balc can result in putting a foot onto IV floor area if the bi fold doors are kept open..Dh managed but was not ideal. We hope our bed is by Bath on Ascent ( AQ class IV) chart posted does seem to show bed by balc/ window that OP prefers

i only add extra if it was amazing. if I buy a product they get credit for that too..cheaper on line

Beyond LIVE Solo Retreat Review (4/9/23): A One-Woman Suite Show
hcat replied to GenerationX's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Charla, glad u enjoyed your excursion..Gen X woukd have loved it.. Actually...that's one we have avoided...usually prefer a resort or snorkel trip.. As for construction & development some years ago a friend took a job there in Planning, & moved his family there...He was supposed to conduct reviews designed to help curb over- development.. It never worked out as hoped .. too many roadblocks so he came home... we hardly ever get off at GC.. it's just too congested! -

Eating in Main Dining Room with an Aqua cabin
hcat replied to Sunset329's topic in Celebrity Cruises
only night we would prefer MDR over BLU is for the Prime Rib..not usually served in BLU.. -
We book what we like and can afford at the time..so I honestly do not track price comparisons..esp.now that we are cruising less often.. When BLU was first introduced, the issue for us was our need to escape the "din" of the mdr. .on E Class the 4 mdrs are truly great but we just prefer BLU
-
we still think AQ Class is a good value for us We enjoy BLU..other than on EDGE( bad location and layout) .and we make good use of the Thermal suite area. esp S class. We recently had our one and only sky suite experience on BEYOND. It was okay but no reason for us to go that route. We did not like the menu, food itself, dark feeling or the layout of Luminae. The retreat lounge was a large waste of space, and the Retreat pool area was crowded..other than on the port day we stayed on board. Lunch there was so so. we did like having a larger stateroom, early boarding and disembarkation but will manage with out it.. as well as the constant pampering by the butler! diff strokes for diff folks.. Probably tge Best value on E class is a SV..if u can snag one
