  1. I find it so odd that the time and place for the get together will be listed in the Insider - even if the ship has no idea that someone has organized one. As you said: It is what it is.😉 Thanks for your suggestion to seek out the F & B Manager. I'll be sure to do that. I'll make name tags as you did last December. Thanks for all the help.
  2. At some point in Azamara's history, a less-than-brilliant marketing person added the word CLUB to the description of each stateroom. Most comments on this board suggested that it added nothing. Everyone knew that there was no club. An announcement several years later said that CLUB would be dropped. It never happened. Today, as I looked at the Onward deck plan, I noticed that CLUB had been removed from all descriptions. No more Club Ocean Suite; just Ocean Suite. Now if they could just get the web site to work . . .😉
  3. How did you arrange this with Azamara before the cruise? Who did you contact?
  4. If you've planned a M&M recently, I'd appreciate your help. We have 24 people (so far) on the Dec. 12 Onward sailing who would like to get together. Who did you contact shoreside? What time did you choose? After sailaway, during sailaway, first sea day? What location were you given? Did you have a choice? (The Library on Onward is gone.) Of the people who signed up, how many attended? Was there someone to serve drinks, snacks? I'd appreciate help with any details I've failed to ask about.😃 Thanks. Toni
  5. Sounds like a bonus commission for a travel agency. I know our travel agent mentioned a 5% bonus commission on something she booked for us.

    OBC Issues

westcoasttech: Call them now. Don't wait to board. There will be a boatload of people at Guest Relations with similar problems.
  7. Our account for our upcoming December cruise was screwed up again when I checked it last night. Instead of more than $700 in OBC remaining after we booked excursions, we owed over $400. Our b2b OBC of $400 had also magically disappeared. Our travel agent called Azamara and got someone who seemed to know what he was doing. He fixed it. We've been booking with the travel agent for many years. She's a pro. She told me that she will not book Azamara unless a customer insists on a particular Azamara cruise. She's spent too many hours on the phone trying to sort out the transition errors.
  8. Am I the only one here who thinks Azamara is making things needlessly difficult ?????
  9. The walk to the Alcazar is very easy.

    Quest Dry Dock

The per diem for a balcony is less than I've seen in years. If you love a port intensive cruise, these two have NO SEADAYS. I wish the dates in April worked for us.
  11. We've sailed with "the other" HD many times since 2008. And that is exactly what he said. We were on 5 Azamara cruises in 2008-2009, when there were just two ships. Passengers and staff/crew got to know each other. Repeat passengers were welcomed back like family. I'm glad we had a chance to meet you last December on your test cruise.😃
  12. You're right. The molded chair arms are very uncomfortable and the shape of the back is uncomfortable as well. In December 2023, the Onward Hotel Director told us that these chairs were being used temporarily due to supply issues related to the pandemic. It will be a year later when we board in 3 months. I'd love to find out they've replaced these uncomfortable chairs with something better.
  13. Owner's suites can experience lots of vibration, especially when the ship is under full power.
  14. With copious amounts of OBC, we booked a bunch of shore excursions for our Dec. 12 cruise. We knew we would have lots of money left to spend onboard. SURPRISE! An updated invoice says that we owe another $400+. To add insult to injury, our B2B credit has also disappeared. Is the IT situation getting worse? It sure is.
  15. You got great advice on this forum and were thoughtful enough to pass it on, helping many people. Thanks for the update.
  16. Sounds like a great way to upgrade. Good for you.
  17. Were you able to choose the suite? The reason I ask is that there are some suites I wouldn't take even if they were free upgrades. The suites under the gym are noisy. Some of the suites under Windows are also noisy.
  18. You did a great job of organizing our get together last December, making all those name tags. We thank you again. What a shame that Azamara gave us a tiny space that is used for card playing on the starboard side of the Living Room on deck 10. It wasn't roped off so there were people playing cards as our group tried to meet and mingle. Because it was during sailaway, half the people you made name tags for didn't show up. Those of us who did were able to walk to the bar and get drinks, meet each other, and put faces with the names. We enjoyed dinners with several of the people we met that night. It was a great way to start our cruise.
  19. "Used to" is different for everyone.😃 We started sailing with Azamara in 2008/2009. The get togethers were generally held in the library. Senior officers attended. The Cruise Director passed a microphone around the room so that people could introduce themselves and mention where they were from. People connected with the people they planned private tours with. Occasionally someone would realize that there was someone they went to high school with. The most well-attended one was over 70 people. There were always drinks and nibbles. (In those days drink were not included in your fare.)
  20. There used to be a link on Cruise Critic to use to register for the get together. I'm sure the registration list was sent to Azamara so that name badges could be printed on the ship. The get together was NEVER held at the same time as sailaway. It was normally on the first sea day. There were invitations sent to the cabin of everyone who had registered. It worked that way for years.
  21. I think you should reread wjfan417's post. I'm guessing that "Last year" probably refers to when he or she was told - not to when Azamara used to supply name tags. Long time Azamara cruisers remember fondly when senior staff would attend these gatherings. They were well-attended, lively and a great way to meet people who had been posting for months.
  22. I got it too. This is getting worserer and worserer.😟😟

    B2B OBC new rules?

On our upcoming December back to back, we have $400 on each 9+ day leg.

    B2B OBC new rules?

You should be getting $400 for each segment based on the length of each cruise. Your travel agent should be able to get this corrected for you.
