Hi, We too were lucky to get a private tour that included the Gallery and Bridge with Commodore Warner. He even came to our Meet & Greet and stayed for about a hour and we took a group photo. One of those memorable pictures. We were only about 12 people. The Gallery was done at 1030AM before lunch which was in high gear.

I just went to the Harrison's Cave Website thru Google.Com and gave transportation information suggestions..

We took an organized tour with our ship and loved it and found it very interesting. Returning in 2025 and looking forward to returning. Hope you find your answer since it is a distance from the Cruise Ship Terminal.

Thank you. We have seen fresh bread/rolls being made for the meals to come. We even saw after breakfast, scones being made for the upcoming tea time that afternoon. I was watching Mighty Cruise Ships/Mighty Ship on cable the other day and saw stock being loaded on board on embarkation day. On another line, we saw #38 Regular Cut Frozen Potatoes on a pallet being loaded to the freezer for upcoming meals. And they bragged about the fresh food being plated for dinner, the same ship. We saw on our sailing on the QM2, potatoes being placed into a machine that washed, scrubbed and cut potatoes being readied for the fryer. I know that there is a lot to prepare seeing done on one of the tours, but QM2 does present a class act. IMHO.......

Notes on a Hamburg short break, QM2 & Britannia Club
BklynBoy8 replied to Kynance's topic in Cunard Line
Kynance, Thank you for your wonderful review. We too experienced Deck 13 BC three voyages ago, the year after 2016 refit. We too enjoyed the changes and additions to the Deck 13 cabins. And the extra hike to the Dining Room at the far end and all the way down. Being in Deck 13 cabin in the past, we were placed in the Starboard side BC Dining Room addition. When we sailed BC on Deck 12, we were in the Portside BC original Dining Room. We too appreciated the Shower Doors in Deck 13 cabins. We also enjoyed the BC Menu Selections + A La Carte addition. Our area included us kept the Flambe Tables active. Pear, Peach, Cherries and an unusual Pineapple topping for crepes w Vanilla Ice Cream. We did not have “Symphony” on our recent sailing but maybe next time. Yes, our choices are BC w a possible upgrade to PG or better or PG outright. Enjoy next June's voyage in which other accommodations you select..... -
We always enjoy the roll baskets and pastry basket when presented to us at the meals. And we still enjoy the style of toast we like at that breakfast on the Silver Toast Holder. Of course and roll and that gravy/sauce left on the plate is the cherry on top of the sundae. Good to the last drop. We have found cheesy rolls on our last September sailing, mostly breakfast and lunch and not dinner. Crispy as it melted on top. Happy with all their bakery goods.

As I have mentioned before, have we sailed on the same ship as you all have. We prefer the same type of accommodations and do appreciate upgrades. Enjoy the selection of cuisines offered at the various location of the ship. We see very little to dissatisfies us while on board. After close to 26+ sailings, we always feel at home if it a 7 day or 14 days voyage with the care, food and entertainment. Ports of Calls don't really concern us as we have visited many repeatedly and go for rest and relaxation.

Which month is better for this cruise?
BklynBoy8 replied to karbyn12's topic in Scuba and Snorkeling
We prefer March to July. Of course we would like to avoid any weather incidents involving it. -
We did enjoy walking and strolling the town off the pier. Being on the QM2, we had to tender to the pier. We had street performers at the pier and enjoyed the festival atmosphere they offered us. We even walked a bit into town and found like a market - green market of locals with many different products. My DW stopped into a local shop of cloth product and brought so gift back home. Also we stop at a shop that made interestly home made soaps and lotions we enjoyed also bring home. Better than those you would buy in a drug store or supermarket.

I have an in law on the other side going first time on Celebrity Apex and first time cruiser to the ship's of today and feel bad for the let down they will experience. Seeing You Tubes and reviews not favorable. I remember a famous cruising magazine that overwhelmingly praises Celeb for their food. This was the days before Mega Ships. Once again, so glad I am a Cunard Loyalist.

Amazon helped us too with the last two sailings. Looking forward to wearing them again. Maybe another order to add more to Gala Wear. Thank you John

What is your ideal length of time for dinner?
BklynBoy8 replied to shipgeeks's topic in Cruise Foodies
We don't have that problem in either BC or PG. We take whatever amount of time to eat and being served and no rush. Pleasant serving and possible conversation with fellow passengers or staff... -
Agree! I had passengers that were looking forward to really enjoying themselves with even some of the Dear Ladies dressing to the Nine's with their Mens. Even the Men, we were conversing about what color ties we would use on Formal - Gala Evening to dress up the evening on a shortie in July. I was so happy to see that even though minority feeling, they truly wanted to honor the QM2 with style.

Brooklyn departure on NYC Marathon day!
BklynBoy8 replied to angelofjoy23's topic in East Coast Departures
We don't leave home that day and stay within the neighborhood. Even though it would ruin the opportunity to enjoy a trip, I think foremost we would avoid a cruise out of Brooklyn on a designated Marathon Day. There should be sailings on other days to make it more pleasurable with travel. -
I think it depends on the type of sailing one is taking. Our last September Quebec (NYC-NYC) reminded me of the old QE2 days. Very special voyage we looked forwarded to and all enjoyed themselves. And the dress code was hard to find anyone that wanted to violate it. A Classic sailing. It was a challenge two months ago on the 4th of July - type of party cruise - with the dress code which we noticed many, many newbies were on board. We forgave them since being new, they didn't understand the concept and feelings we personally have for the Dear Queen 2. This is what prevents us from wanting to experience another vessel without the Mary 2 feel. Our next voyage will be interesting in 500+ days Caribbean Style and what we will see and experience. In March, there will be a certain attraction away from vacations and holidays to book this sailing.

How many days until your next cruise??? Part 2

We did the area on the QM2 last September but really didn't think of which side to view while transiting.

Dear Escrick, Welcome to Cunard and the QM2. So happy you will be experiencing the Queen on the Norway Sailing next year. We did it on the QE2 and is one of the memorable voyages in our sailing trips next to the Panama Canal. A Trip to Remember. Make sure you take a lot of memory in your camera for those keepsake photos. Many on Cruise Critics will help you along with their suggestions, opinions and comments of their experiences of the trip and just being on board. Your previous cancellation led you a wonderful trip.

Good Evening John, We wonder reading reviews online and the differences other passengers experience, did we sail on the same name ship? Being on the QM2 twice in less than a year, and experiencing both BC and PG, except for that one mechanical situation on the last sailing, we had a wonderful trip on both sailings. With entertainment, food in all the venues and wonderful staff that served us. We do have to admit that we too expect certain needs and experiences we can be critical to notice. But the Queen serves us well and happy to be able to sail on her and always looking forward to the next booked sailing in about 500+ days. Our guest that accompanied us also enjoyed her experience on the QM2 and could compare it to the other lines out there now including so call Mega Ships. QM2 is now on her considering list in the future. PS. we did not have a posted French Toast last sailing but they did make for us in BC and was delightful. We are not waffle people. But fully happy with filling breakfast last September.

How offensive is it to call the ship a boat?
