  1. Was very common in the past.... You had to get a carver to cut it right.
  2. Welcome First Time Cruiser, Officially it's 49 year ago we were in your shoes boarding a ship to sail for the very first time. You have an exciting and an adventurous part of your life you will remember. You have Caught the "Cruise Bug"! We of course we will board like everyone does. Being sort of Pro's - we go directly to the cabin/suite(not room) to see it and drop off any unnecessary carry on luggage. Maybe place any important documents in the safe located in the cabin. But keep your Voyage ID Card with you all the time. You will need it to enter your room or charge any purchases to you on board account. I think everyone agrees after a busy morning/early afternoon, to head to have a lunch. Either in the restaurant or buffet. Just remember, few hours later you will be at your first dinner. Leave Space. We like to return to our cabin and go thru any documents and paperwork that would be left for you on your desk. May be information like the Daily Programme of activities, Shore Excursion info, etc.... Be familiar with the location where your muster station/boat drill will be held. Should be located inside your cabin. Take some important clothing out that maybe needs to be hung. Maybe now stroll around the ship with a ships map supplied to you. Get your bearings. See what the outside decks look like. Attend the Boat Drill. Find out how your particular ship holds them. Afterward like everyone looks forward to, the Sailaway of the Ship. Leaving the dock, and heading to the open waters for the first time and enjoying the experience. You can even scan thru the Programme to see what other activities will be held the rest of the day. After the sailaway, most likely heading to your first dinner. Well, you are now on your own.... Bon Voyage......
  3. I always thought that the shore excursions got priority to be taken to shore with a tender and than other passenger were free to transit on the tenders.

  9. First, Welcome to Cruising and you love it and catch the Cruise Bug for the future. Second, you will learn thru experience over the coming sailings you will book and enjoy. We have gone over two dozen times and looking forward again in 2025, Many will be on this trip we have been too alright and looking forward. On your list, our favorite are PR, Barbados, St Thomas, St Martin - St Lucia & Tortola will be second time. In General, when we were going to an Caribbean Island for the first time, we always selected the basic tour to familiar ourselves to the island. We did not select any beaches since you can sun on the ship. We wanted to see what the basic island offered and looked like. If we wanted to go deeper, we would select a more involved the next time. St Thomas we like to stroll and grab a meal of local cuisine and of course SHOP. PR....went to see the Rain Forest and basic scenery. Shop. St Martin.....Basic showing the French and Dutch side. Also Shop. Barbados..... A Tea Time at Sunbury Plantation, Harrison's Cave...Shop in the Cruise Terminal shops we like. Enjoy...
  10. Roy, Enjoy your cruise and Bon Voyage! But it sounds like your sailing is a repeat performance of the 4th of July Cruise we were on, almost to the T! So sorry it had to be repeated in the same year. But you are on and get to see the Sailing Out at Night Time. Hope you get to photo some good shots even though it's suppose to rain till tomorrow morning. Will follow your daily updates from a distance..

Use caution transiting the city today.. Many areas of the Belt Parkway flooded and sections closed. City streets becoming crowded with traffic overflow.. Careful in low lying areas of the city.. 17. The tender service that is supplied by the ship in part of the transport needs of a passenger to land. It is free of charge. But if you are not connected to a ship board excursion runned by the tour office, you may be asked to wait till all the excursions are transported to land. Then the ship will open the service to the rest of the passengers to use. The initial service maybe run by obtaining a ticket or tag related to the excursion passengers booked. After that, ticket or tags may not be necessary to obtained. One thing to be aware of, be sure to follow the ship instructions of the tender operations. And the time when the final tender will leave land, last opportunity to get back to the ship at the end of the day.
