  1. There is alway expected time and clock changes in the Caribbean they will advise you before passenger bed time.
  2. Should ask the driver to drop you off as close to the entrance due to your limitation and explain to the Pier Staff on the street why you need that close.....All embarkation days are challenging at the entrance of the terminal area.
  3. Yes.... The Belt will be affected when approaching the VZ Bridge since part of it will be closed for the runner thru the streets, but once past, you should not be affected. Get A GOOD DRIVER familiar with Marathon Day operations and Bon Voyage!
  4. If you are coming from JFK and take the Belt Parkway will run into the Gowanus Expressway. Taking the Gowanus Expressway (above 3rd Avenue and next to 4th Avenue) towards the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel/Brooklyn Queens Expressway (BQE) and get off the Hamilton Avenue Exit. That is before the Tunnel. You will be traveling laterally along the Marathon and away/towards the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. The Cruise Terminal entrance is behind the Tunnel.
  5. lol.....lol....... Remember one of the first few sailings on the QM2 we were in the La Pizzaia - King Court part. Saw a lady with a Shower Cap and Pink Bathrobe on walking thru there while everyone was eating. No one said anything but everyone she passed was a gassed by the sight. On Deck 7 there, not sure where she was headed to... WOW....the sights you see sometimes unexpectedly....
  6. Café du Monde moves to Pier Quai 22. Now firmly established at the Cruise Terminal Great French Onion Soup with 3 cheeses & onion and enjoyed Fish & Chips.
  7. Mc Kelvie's is within the town and Salty's is along the Harborway with a beautiful view of the harbor.
  8. Crew members will be on board when in dry dock and shipyards. We had a lovely waiter on our 4th of July sailing and he will be transferred from the QM2 to Queen Anne still in the shipyard. Transfer in October though she will not sail till 2024. He is looking forward to the transfer to the new ship.
  9. Louise, Thank you for the thanks....... Yes, you will figure out what you should do. About the Halifax explosion, there is a church in the central part of the town that actually if I remember actually has a timber embedded in the wall from the explosion. We saw it on a ship tour. Lots of shops to stroll thru and restaurants to nosh at...ours Salty's. Sept was very simple and we picked if I remember the excursion the involved a traders post. Another part was cancelled due to a pipe burst. And other part I can't remember. At the pier there was a large tent that locals sold local items like jewelry, food, decorations etc.. The town was too too far to go to and when passed and didn't attract us to venture too. We too are about 550+ days till our next Caribbean and we too are already thinking and slowly researching. Enjoy your research and dream your dream, one day it will come through. We too are counting the days...
  10. We received also with OBC, free alternative speciality meal certificate and free Champagne High Tea Service. Alternative used lunch in Verandah Steak House and Champagne Tea during middle of the sailing which was a really treat.
  11. John, Totally agree with you as our sailing followed your voyage and enjoyed the QM2 PG. Agree about the Grill Lounge was commented by many but still enjoyed the quiet atmosphere later in the evening away from the crowds. But a challenge at Tea Time and prefer the Queens Room with it's fan fare feeling. And the first time experience Concierge Lounge which we favored quite often. Great WiFi under that Router. And yes quiet treats, not many but enough to enjoy at the time. And yes our favorites, as if they were expected to be there for us. Not ever crowded and the Concierge always available for our needs. We couldn't thank her enough. We agree PG cabin was a bump up from BC. Looking and researching PG, it was what I expected and very accommodating. Upgrade of items in PG from BC was appreciated. And need a lot of space to comment about our delightful experience in PG during our sailing. But appreciated the BC efforts almost equal in some parts. Vote first for PG but BC not too far behind. Good Sailing John....
  12. Louise, I too respect Tripadvisor and the personal opinions of the travelers. I always use it in all my travels. But you should also research the different parts of these forums about your thoughts with the excursions. We took an ship tour in Sept-lies which was a basic one. But Halifax is a favorite when part of a voyage. Now we develop our own self stroll of locations, meal in a local seafood restaurant with the freshest seafood and relaxed shopping...
  13. Dear John, Got the email this morning and states we will be departing on March 15th instead of the 16th but still returning on the 29th. They have added another island call to the itinerary on March 21 - St Lucia to our voyage. Now making 7 island we will be calling on. We will be calling on the original 6 islands with now St Lucia added making 7. They will not be in the original order as stated in the past. For those already booked will be receiving additional 50 dollar pp to the OBC. Any Drink Packages already purchased will be gratitis extended. And no additional cost or charges for the added island - St. Lucia. That will be as stated compliments of the Line. Visiting the website, the voyage is locked for viewing, most likely for IT reasons and adjustment. The voyage had about 6 legs to it in different makeup. Just had the title and info changed on the Roll Call info. Not sure how this effects the TA before us, with their days of sailing. Thank you for your help John.......
  14. We have been to St Thomas over two dozen times and there is much to do. You can also look at the USVI website that has a very interesting tourist book you may wish to scan. We like to walk thru all the shops which are dozens in Havensight Dock and also in the Main Street of the Town which the women may be interested. For Beach, we like Megan's Bay which is also picturesque. If able, Ferry to St John's Island. You may want to look over the ship excursions that may give aid to seniors with limited movement.
  15. Louise, Welcome to Cunard and the QM2. We did this sailing in 2022 and loved it! Previously we did it on the QE2 which attracted us back to return 30+ years later. You will love the QM2 and all she offers. If you are new to the Cunard Booking Site, the excursions can be found once you enter the MyCunard site with your Booking Number. You should find the tours in the My Calendar area and also the Shore Excursion tab. They are added over a period of time. You will visiting some of the same ports we did. Quebec was the highlight for us. You will be able to book tours you maybe interested earlier but would off a personal credit card. It can not be booked to your on board account. That can only be done while on board. If you cancel, you would need to personally handle that. You will get a full description of the tours with prices, stress level, amount of time tour takes etc... Off that page you will be able to book and select the tours for those days. You will love the sailing the USA ports and Canadian Waters including the St Lawrence Seaway...
  16. Yes.... Ship, vessel, Ocean Liner, Cargo Ship....proper terms. Boats......sailboat, row boat, many call Disney ships boats. Even a tender is not A Boat.. Also many call ships referred as She's... But a large vessel is a ship...
  17. Thank you for your additional data. We only went to view the fall from the boardwalk below and take photos. We were not looking to take the Cable Car or view from the top of the falls due to the amount of time we had available. That is most likely the fee that is being collected for those services. But as said, a simple viewing as mentioned was simply a stroll to view it from a below location. Sorry you may not to see it possibly. It was truly a lovely location that everyone enjoyed in seeing. Like seeing Niagara Falls.
